Fab idea and something we could all make use of in some way, I'm sure.
I was recommended the website SPLASHPATH, which also has an app (though not for android). You can log your swims and aim for distance targets (I swam the channel, took me a few months though :rotfl:) or just use it to keep track. You could use that alongside your plan...
I used to swim 70-80 lengths at a time (150 a week) when I was only doing breaststroke. Then I made myself do front crawl for some of the time which I find harder so I went down to about 50-60 at a time. I must get my act together.
I may go for time... I was quite liking my (very short) 30 minute a day challenge, but once I miss one day I give up. I may change it to so many hours/minutes a week. I will be doing an hour swimming twice a week, an hour yoga once a week so I should be able to fit in an hour of something else, in two 30 minute sessions...
hmmmm....
Tink1981 - I only lost 3lb officially but my measurements show a definite change. So we are :A really. Enjoy wearing the trousers with pride! I am still not in my 'thin' jeans, there's a photo of the family on MIL's windowsill with me wearing them, I see it every time I go there. I was less than 4 months after having my second child so there really is NO reason I shouldn't get back into them! (TBH they are really tatty and could really do with chucking but that is NOT the point.)
EllaRose - Mine are Hanson ones, they were about £15 on Amazon (now £12). Weigh in lbs, stone and kg (pounds down to .2 of a lb). I have had some days where they don't want to weigh right, I think you have to keep them flat and not move them around all the time. As you can see by the reviews this happens to others too, but as I weigh pretty much daily I know when they are off and it isn't often. Aldi had some in last time I was there though, for £10 ish and they look about the same. Salter are a good make, a bit more expensive but probably worth it.
I really wouldn't bother with the fat analysis ones.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Thankyou so much for all the wonderful advice. I am going to sit down with as recipe book and have more variation in my diet. I get bored easily haha.
Can't wait to start the challenge now xComping for christmas xThankyou to all posters0 -
Thanks ragz
the support from you and everyone on here has been great, I think I would have give up long ago if it hadn't been for you all
Just a quick post wanted a little advice... I'm going away for a few days walking to get in training for the Dales Way I'm doing in June. The plan is to do 3 walks between 7 and 17 miles thrusday, friday, saturday to get the legs used to having to do a long days walking and then get up the next day and do another long day.
I'm walking with my mum and her routes have a tendancy to end up with a cafe stop for scones or cake... I was wondering whether to make up some low fat versions to take for us so I don't get tempted by the full fat with jam and clotted cream option or is having any version a bad idea and should I just go without either... not sure what to do:rotfl: I don't want to undo the good of doing the exercise but then don't want to totally blow it by going for something that puts back in all the cals i burn off!!

Sealed Pot Challenge #1505
'you wouldn't worry about what people think, if you realised how seldom they do'0 -
Have been away for a week so didn't get to post my final weight for the New Year challenge, but I had put on 1lb just before I went away. Now I have overindulged whilst away and gained a further 3lb, which brings my total weight loss to 1lb!
Well, back on the wagon and I'd like to join the summer challenge please and give myself a slightly lower target of 6lbs. Hopefully the first 3 will come off as quickly as they went on!
Good luck everyone.0 -

Thanks ragz I will have a look at that website!!
I dread to think how long it would take me to swim the channel  LOL
I only do breast stroke and am trying to work up to a decent number of lengths- i did 32 tonight so making progress think it maybe awhile before I hit your 70-80 lengths
They would probably be kicking me out at closing time it I had to do that many
Had a muller light and two plums as my afternoon snack and having a homemade low fat chicken curry and HM chaptis for tea (may have 1/4 of an eater egg shell later!)O/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -
Hi team!
I wondered if any of you could recommend a decent, not too expensive set of bathroom scales?
I don't have a set at the moment and so can only weigh myself every month or so when I visit my mum's.
I would quite fancy a set that measure body fat %, BMI, etc. but I know these can be very pricey and not always reliable. Is it best to get the bog standard mechanical scales or invest in something a bit more detailed?
I had a quick nose on Amazon but the reviews on there are mixed, so I thought I'd ask here for your advice!
Thanks!
I have weightwatchers ones I bought in Argos sale (looked at reviews on their website), they were about £15.
I had a look on the Which review site and it said all body fat monitor scales vary in initial accuracy, but the ones they tested all measured consistently over time. So basically, whichever ones you choose, they will tell you how your body is changing.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

Morning all,
couldn't log in earlier as the site seemed to be down (does anyone else think it's getting slower, too?), so just a quickie from me this morning as must press on with the work...
...More of the same....but it does look brighter today, so maybe will manage a 30 minute walk. Hope so, as I did so well on the walking last week, that I'd like to keep some of it going if possible.
Managed to steer clear of treats yesterday as well :T, so hoping to do the same today.
Have a lovely Wednesday everyone. Keep up the good work.

My scales are very old (must be 25+ years) Salters ones. My advice would be to get digital ones as it's bloomin' hard to read the indicator on mine...even binoculars don't help! :rotfl:0
