    Afternoon all :)

Well done all the losers, sts's, and the gainers for effort. I've STS this week, really surprised having eaten out 4 days running last weekend, and very happy with that. One more week to lose 2lb though, going to be a struggle but only out for one meal between now and then so will up the exercise.

JBD/ragz I'm a great advocate of Paul McK, I read his stop smoking book and my 5th smoke free anniversary is on 30th of this month. Now I read his make you slim book and listen to the cd, and between them and the support on this thread I've acheived what I'd previously half-heartedly tried to do for many years. Like most methods it won't work for everyone, I can only say it (he) does for me.

    B - F&F, sk milk
D - grilled spare ribs, tomato. Apple
    T - 3 crackerbread 1xvegemite, 1xcheese/pickle, 1xmarmalade
    Snacks - grapes, melon, banana
Exercise - 20 mins exercise am, 15 mins pm

Have a great rest of the day everyone :)

Oh congratulations (I totally hadn't realised!) well done you for doing so well on the challenges, now I know why, have you got into the dress you wanted? Bet you're really excited by now, hope the weather stays nice for you and you have a lovely day (and don't get a tummy bug like I did, totally ruined my wedding day, or night rather :rotfl:)

I have done really well today, I'm sure the vitamins are working already, I had loads of energy, got loads done and hardly craved sugar at all!

    I had
Breakfast - muesli, sultanas, almonds, yogurt and milk.
Snacks - Lots of water biscuits!
Lunch - Leftover fajita filling with a mini naan. Yogurt for pudding.
2 more water biscuits (didn't get the mid afternoon sugar binge!)
Dinner - LM meat free sausages (dry, horrible!), pasta with lots of veg. Another yogurt for pudding.

Dinner was early so I may well get hungry later, but I have done a LOT better than the rest of the week! Could have done with more fruit and veg though...

    Hello everyone,

I've been MIA because I've been in hospital for my operation. Tried to order lots of healthy veg from the menu, and of course had a couple of days when I didn't really eat. Not sure what's happening weightwise as I've not yet braved the scales - but I will, I promise

I've mostly read back the thread. Well done to you all for keeping going, and (((HUGS))) for those who've had struggles.

Welcome to the thread. The more the merrier.

LavenderBees Welcome back. Sorry to hear times are tough. And well done on STS. Its fine to comfort eat a bit when you're under stress like that. Its also a chance to find new comfort foods that boost your strength - I've found a strange liking for Greek salad (feta, black olives, sundried tomatoes, salad leaves, peppers) - and of course chocolate is the great unrecognised priority food group :rotfl:

Can you find someone in RL to talk to about the situation - preferably outside of work? When my work went through something similar I could only support my fellow workers who were leaving by getting an outside perspective talking to a friend about my worries.

Ragz You are doing a great job keeping us all organised on this challenge. Don't worry about the wee gain - I seem to remember the same thing happened at another TOTM and the following week you lost the gain and then some.

I'll weigh myself today or tomorrow - when I'm not wobbly and am freshly dosed with painkillers. Meantime keep up the great job everyone :A:A

    Hi, Rosetta,

Hope you are feeling better, and the op was a success!

Many thanks for your encouragement. I've been living with this anxiety about my job now for at least the last 2 years, firstly as a "hmmmm...I suspect I know what is likely to happen in future" and now unfortunately, starting to see it actually happening. Such is life, but as a singleton, it gives me many sleepless nights worrying about how I'd cope without my job/salary, both money-wise and the lack of social contact/loss of self esteem etc.

But I know I'm preaching to the converted on here as so many have gone through this/are going through this, and it may not happen/may be a while away yet for me. Am trying very hard not to lose the plot, but feel I did for a few weeks. :o

And being overweight won't exactly help me feel better....will it? :rotfl:I like your idea of the greek salad. I do need help to think outside the obvious sometimes.

Today has been a good day food-wise - posting my intentions did help me avoid the cakes etc at work - a few times as I walked past them my hand went out, and I mentally slapped it back as I hadn't declared a treat on here. Mind, I have a small whisky & coke poured now, but it is only a small one...honest!

    Evening All

Well done all those who have declared a loss, and well done for keeping going all those who haven't!

I've had a really lovely day today and the sunshine has made it even better. I had my Stability Ball class first thing which is always great fun, followed by coffee with several of the class. Then DDiL came for lunch with DGD which I was really pleased about as she rarely comes without DS. She then went off to work and I had DGD for the rest of the day and I'm now babysitting at her house.

B: Small bowl of muesli with extra sultanas and skimmed milk.
L: Boiled egg with HM white roll. 1/2 Eccles cake shared with DGD.
D: Minced beef which also included lentils, sweetcorn and spinach, green beans, mashed potato.
Snacks: Iced coffee frappe. Icecream (child's size). Several chocolate eclair sweets that I had to treat myself whilst babysitting.

Exercise: One hour of Stability Ball class. Walk with DGD to buy icecreams and then later to her house. Lots of dancing as we put on a nursery rhyme DVD to dance to and everytime I sat down DGD shouted 'Come on Grandma, Dance'.

Ok, well, today's menu is -

Brunch - hm wholemeal bread (lots of seeds) and a poached egg/baked beans

Dinner - out to dinner at posh restaurant to celebrate my parent's 50th weddng anniversary. So will eat well (though it's small portions - if you think 2 pieces of carrot, and need fish & chips on way home, you'll have the right idea)

    Exercise - housework and gardening.

Treat - probably small glass of wine tonight - can't drink any more than that as will be driving as usual, so good portion control

Enjoy your Saturdays everyone. I LUVS weekends :rotfl:

Well it’s what we call a dreich day here, shrouded in a North Sea haar but if you drive 6 miles inland its glorious sunshine :(. So I decided to have a “cook up” day; made a pot of velvety smooth spicy parsnip soup for lunch and to freeze, the recipe called for double cream but I didn’t have any so that should have reduced the calorie count of 261 kcals per portion.

Just about to divide up 500g of beef mince and do one lot as Savoury Mince the other as Chilli. Then it will be Stuffed Tomatoes (minced lamb & rice concoction) for evening meal. Although I had porridge with stewed apples for breakfast I have been reflecting on the posts regarding protein levels from earlier on in the week and going by the info on the recipes I have I don’t think I’m getting enough protein so snacking on a small handful of hazelnuts (well that's my excuse).

Hope you are all having a good day and the weather is better where you are.
