    Hi, Everyone,

I've been having a tough few weeks - anxiety mainly, and found that the more I tried not to think about food, the more food I was stuffing down me, so I tried to take the focus away. Not sure it worked as I feel I've done nothing but eat chocolate and drink more alcohol than I should. :o

I avoided the scales the last few weeks as I felt sure I'd piled on the weight, in fact I felt I definitely could feel it piling on, and was pretty disgusted with myself but couldn't seem to stop sabotaging my efforts.

Over the last week, I have caught up on your posts, and feel a little more in control, myself. 2 bisuits as a treat instead of a whole packet :o. Today I stepped back on the scales, braced to see the damage and start all over again.

Imagine my surprise to find I'm actually STS. Quite unbelievable really, though looking back, I have managed to still use small plates, fill up on veges etc. But you could have knocked me over with a feather this morning, and I still feel tearful now.

It's been a tough day at work (3 more colleagues lost their jobs today), and I'm struggling to keep my anxiety under control. But good things have happened too which make me feel more in control of my finances, and hopefully, ultimately in control of my eating.

So, Ladies, if you'll have me back, I'm ready to start again, and I'll also definitely be part of the next challenge. My long term goal is still 22lbs but for the rest of this challenge and for the next one, I'd like to lose a further 7lb. Hope this is ok.

    LB xx

The harder I try to eat well, the more I think about food. I seem to think about food constantly at the moment, it is really not helping me as I am not hungry but because I can't stop thinking about food, I eat!

I think I need hypnotizing... any volunteers?
Ragz have you ever read or watched Paul McKenna? I have heard some people say his techniques work for them [not tried them myself].
I have just weighed myself, another sts. Oh well, will just have to keep trying.
Best of luck to everyone else who is weighing in, have a great weekend everyone!

    Morning all.

I'm just checking in to report a 1lb gain. :(

I knew I'd slipped this week, I've been really tired due to stress at work, so my exercise routine has slipped. Also attended a couple of unavoidable 'social' meals in high cal/fat type places. Still, I'm a bit gutted that I've gained rather than STS.

Oh well, onward and upward...or downward. :D

Good luck on the weigh-ins everyone.

Ragz, have you had your thyroid levels checked recently? I have hypothyroidism, but I only have symptoms of tiredness etc when something's out of whack with my dose. The way levothyroxine works is by replacing exactly what your body would be making, so if your dose is balanced you should really be symptom-free. If you don't feel right it's worth pushing your GP for testing and a change in your dose, as the range they like things to be in is an average, and some people need to be higher/lower in it than others to feel right.

Thanks hun, I had my bloods done on Wednesday and expect them to put my dose up again next week. My husband even commented the other day that I seem to be going through a tired phase and that I yoyo a lot! I seem to remember this happening around this time, I just don't like to blame my thyroid for things when I know I could have more willpower!

For now, I have bought some Berocca, started taking it today (my step mother swears she gets loads done when she takes them, she has ME), hopefully will see a difference before my thyroxin goes up.

Have gained 2lb (most of that IS TOTM, honest)

Breakfast - decent sized serving of Muesli, extra sultanas and almonds, greek yogurt and a splash of milk. Cup of tea, Berocca! Even if it's just psychological, I could do with a boost today :)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Morning all and welcome back Lavenderbees

I'm happy to report a 1lb loss, the half that I lost last week has thankfully been joined by another one; must have been all the gardening that I did this week. After sts for a number of weeks I was beginning to get a bit despondent, but renewed enthusiasm has kicked in.

    Todays menu
    B – F&F with apple juice
L – Pitta, hummus, tzatziki, salad
D – Pasta Puttanesca, 2 slices garlic bread

Good luck to everyone else for their WI.

Well, the re-vitalised me is logging on to advise that today (being Friday, and payday, so needs celebrating :D), I will be mostly eating the following -

    Brekkie - hm muesli
Lunch - (Needing to be used up) goats cheese & hm chutney sandwich, and crisps (it's my TFI Friday treat)
Dinner - hm pizza slices (smallish ones from the freezer), and a handful of oven chips
Treats - will do my ironing :)
Exercise - maybe a walk up the high street and back - about half a mile - at lunchtime if the sun comes out

Clearly I need to review my treats, but as I feel I've been doing nothing but stuff myself for weeks, this weekend, I'm going to keep my fingers out of the treat tin.

    Have a good day everyone!
