Your post reminded me of exlax too kraftykat.

Well done on the losses and sts everyone x

We've been out all day so meals were a bit rushed, but it was good excuse to cut back a bit after my meal out Sat.

B- 2 slices of toast, butter, jam
    L- protein bar
D- beans on toast and cheese
S- choc ice, freddo, mini pk milkybar buttons

Something at my meal out upset me a bit, it was a works do, all women and only two of us had dessert and I caught two of the girls making eyes at each other and smirking as I put cream on my pud :undecided: They are always dieting, but one in particular doesn't do it in a healthy way so I shouldn't care what they think of my eating tbh, but it made me self conscious and I left the rest of it. I don't know I just feel sad that people who I thought were friends had obviously been gossiping behind my back. I'm not looking forward to seeing them next week, but it has made me more determined to get back to my goal and not give them the satisfaction of being able to discuss my weight at least :D

Hope everyone has a good week x

    :D No, definitely wasn't Exlax...her favourite was Fry's Chocolate Cream.......actually, I haven't had that in years :)

Zippy, there's some nasty people about. I would've felt self conscious too xx.

Just think how much they probably wanted the cream too and how miserable their lives must be if that's the sort of thing they find interesting on a night out xx.
  • Just wanted to mention that I haven't been trying to diet at all (although I am currently a size 22 so definitely can stand to lose a few pounds lol!) but I have happily been losing about 1lb a week following the priciples of scratch/budget/healthy cooking. Have been downsizing the grocery bill for a few weeks while still providing nutritious and hopefully tasty meals for the family from scratch - no special meals for anyone but a definite lack of processed food and nibbling on extra treats like chocolate and crisps.

I've had a meal plan every week with the emphasis on a balanced intake for the cheapest possible price. Tonight we are having spaghetti carbonara/garlic bread followed by caramel pancakes (not what you'd call diet food!). Lunch is vegetable soup. The weight loss is a welcome side effect of cutting down on high grocery bills and waste. It takes quite a lot of time in menu planning and cooking but I'm saving loads of money and getting healthier so it's got to be worth the effort!

Aww that's shame zippy. Don't let the bu**ers get to you m'dear. They probably have nothing better to do but make fun of others and I would ignore them or tell them to get a life of their own :)

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this here with all you chocoholics, but I don't really like chocolate very much :o. Do you think it would work with my downfall, cheese :D.
eta sorry Lynne I should have explained, I mix the cinnamon and fruit in as I'm making the porridge, not tried it on top but will have to give it a go next time :-)

Sparrer - I must admit I have a weakness for cheeses over chocolate - can't give up cheese though :D

On the porridge front I had a little look around the tinter and found lots of ideas but this one made me laugh, esp the first one, and thought you might enjoy it http://www.studentbeans.com/mag/en/news/the-ultimate-list-of-porridge-toppings :rotfl:

Oh Anne-Marie - it must be great to be able to lose weight without trying !!!
I know what size I'd be if I ate meals like Pasta Carbonara with Garlic bread, followed by Caramel Pancakes !!!

At work so must get on - I'll be back later

zippy I'm annoyed on your behalf...eating out is a treat, and those two spoiled your enjoyment of dessert
I could say what I think of people who criticize what others eat in such a mean manner, but I won't bother...

Rise above it zippy, carry on with your dieting, and SHOW THEM YOU CAN DO IT :D....next works meal out, you enjoy every mouthful of dessert, because you know how to lose weight AND treat yourself to dessert...and cream :D

I've had another good day, was travelling at tea time, so ate a protein bar, not ideal but I'm not hungry now.

I have a problem parting with clothes which are now too big, but today I threw out a pair of jeans which were really baggy, and a top which had bad memories...so starting small but at least I got rid of something.
Unfortunately I called into the charity shop, and bought another pair of jeans a size smaller which fit perfectly :o

Thanks for the porridge link Lynne, my DD seemed keen to try the egg one.

Well done dropping a size Ellie :j I had a new pair of jeans every time I dropped a size, it's a great to see the difference so think you totally deserved to treat yourself :)

Thank you for the support :) I feel better about it now after sharing. Lately I've caught the one going out of her way to see what I've got in my lunch box when I work with her so think they've been talking that I eat too much to lose weight or maintain, I don't talk about my dieting so they wouldn't know which I was doing. Goodness knows how my lunch makes interesting conversation as DH makes me the same thing everyday love him and I'm not going to complain in case he stops and I have to make my own :D

Been good today, but rushed meals again. With working so many hours the last few months I've completely got out of the habit of baking and trying new recipes and we're all missing it, DD's boyfriend has resorted to texting pictures of cakes he'd like :D I'll start by making bread tomorrow hopefully that will get me going again.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday x

(((hugs))) zippy just remember nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent, and all of us here are rooting for you :)
lynne oh, those recipes - I don't fancy the cheese and marmite one, one little bit ! The apple pie one does appeal though, will have to try that

B - you guessed it, spicy fruity porridge :)
L - rf cheese and tomato sandwich with rf mayo
D - pasta bake - only one more portion to go!
S - slice hm wm with butter, jam and clotted cream :o
E - none, another ci. Just had flu jab so a bit cross

    Sweet dreams :)

A DH who makes your lunch every day!!! Does he have a single brother? :rotfl:

Maybe the nosy one is wanting to know what you're eating because she can see that you've lost lots of weight and wants to copy what you're doing?
Or maybe your DH just makes a really interesting lunch, even if there is just the one variety :rotfl:

I've remembered why the protein bar has been lying in my car for ages, I had a really sore stomach all last night, obviously they don't agree with me.

I have a fun packed day ahead of me...major tidy before a birthday celebration at the end of the week, and filling in my tax return :(
