Okay Jem will add you to the list for 10lbs - I don't have your brain tumor problem but I can't exercise due to my disabilities, I have lost 4 stone just by tracking what I eat - it is hard but it can be done!

    Welcome jem132 :hello:
You definitely can lose without exercise...I walk a little bit now, but lost quite a lot without any exercise.
Don't mean to be critical, but looking at your food list for the day, you don't seem to have drunk very much. Would it help if you had more to drink? I can put off eating if I have lots of cups of tea :)

Knit Witch, wow 4 stone, that's impressive. I don't think I knew you had lost that much.
Maybe it would be interesting if at the end of the year we all said how much we'd lost in total, that would make an impressive list :D

Had another good day, and just used willpower when I was hungry before walking at tea time. Came home to find DS1 had put tea in the oven, one of his easy meals, pasta with a jar of sauce and some cheese on top. Was really hungry by then...what a disappointment, it didn't turn out right at all, was runny and the pasta was hard, like it hadn't cooked properly. So now wondering whether the oven is on the way out, or if he didn't shut the dodgy door properly. I'm praying it was just the door, because I've to cook a very special birthday meal on Friday night, imagine if it came out half cooked! Will have to have oven meals all week to test it.

Chewed through a little bit of the pasta but left most of it (tried microwaving it as well, but didn't make any difference)...and then decided to eat a whole tin of rice pudding to fill myself up, so that added a few extra calories, but still under my limit.
I will be spitting feathers if I don't lose anything this week :)

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

The other thing jem132, that doesn't seem a lot of food (I'm not one to talk mind you I can stop eating at the drop of almost anything!), I have been told off by the docs for not eating enough! (although the obesity clinic may be putting me back on a low calorie diet for a while , it has taken me 10 years to get to eating over a 1000 calories a day on a regular basis!)

  • Hi All,

I have been lurking for a little while and thought it time to come out of the woodwork and say hello. Hope that is OK.

Am 9 weeks into a bit of a lifestyle change. Have about 100lbs to lose, in an ideal world, but to be honest I'd be happy with even a chunk of that and am just setting a small goal at a time. I have lost 27lbs so far, not by doing anything special, just eating less and moving more. :D

Have never been a skinny minny, always around a 16-18 as an adult. I have had a couple of successful weight losses in my time but haven't been able to keep it off. I once got to within 20lbs of my goal weight.

Have been living with my other half for two years and got into those typical really bad habits: matching his portions, takeaway pizzas, big bars of chocolate curled up on the sofa watching a film. And not moving unless I was dragged kicking and screaming. I piled yet more weight on and in August decided enough was enough. I haven't been as heavy as I was on August 6th and don't intend to be again. I have been keeping a food journal - call me old fashioned - but it'd be good to have other people who are on the same road. I am not much of a talker about such things in real life.

So, have been reading and believe you are in the early stages of a new challenge. Looking at my diary that's for another 10.5 weeks. I'd like to lose 20lbs by then, please. I usually weigh in Saturdays but not always weekly depending on what's happening for me.

Sorry. As you can see, I have a tendency towards the verbose. ;) Looking forward to this journey with you all and getting to know you.
