Welcome proserpina (ooh we were your first post!) I have added you to the list and I look forward to seeing less of you :rotfl:Must use my stash up!0 -
I seem to just think I can think "I need to lose weight" and it will magically happen at the moment, without any change to my eating habits! Don't I wish...
Tomorrow I will pick up a little pad of paper to make a food diary with, and figure out what areas to target. We have lunch with our director tomorrow, which will most likely mean mayonnaisey sandwiches, but on Thursday I'm going into extreme mode which means no sugar or alcohol or processed stuff for 2 weeks until I get it out my system.0 -

Am 9 weeks into a bit of a lifestyle change. Have about 100lbs to lose, in an ideal world, but to be honest I'd be happy with even a chunk of that and am just setting a small goal at a time. I have lost 27lbs so far, not by doing anything special, just eating less and moving more.
So, have been reading and believe you are in the early stages of a new challenge. Looking at my diary that's for another 10.5 weeks. I'd like to lose 20lbs by then, please. I usually weigh in Saturdays but not always weekly depending on what's happening for me.Hi wondered if I could join you I need to loose weight the old style wAy........ I desperately need to loose weight x
A very warm welcome to both of you and good luck with the challenge

Thanks for your lovely welcomes.
Had one of those super busy days at work today where I feel as though I haven't had a second to myself. The upside to this is don't think about food. I am noticing that my appetite is actually not that big and I can go all day without eating and not feel hungry. I don't advocate this approach of course, but it does make me realise that I have spent vast chunks of my life eating when not hungry for a myriad of other reasons - sadness, anger, boredom and the rest.
I am still in summer food mode, so eating salads and fruit and yoghurt. However I notice the weather turning this week and looking forward to the winter foods - porridge and home made soup instead. Yum.
Today I have had/will have:
B: yoghurt, banana
L: avocado salad with a little bit of mayo and a pink lady apple. I freely admit to be being an apple snob - only pink ladies for me!soup and bread roll in a mad dash as I am going out this evening straight from work and won't be home till super late so need something I can bung in the microwave.
S: I did have three bourbon biscuits on a training todayTwo cups of coffee, tons of water (but not enough as I feel fuzzy headed - will stick to water tonight I think)
And no exercise tonight as I am out. I am trying to move more, but not beating myself up if I don't as I figure if I nail the diet first, the rest will happen naturally.
Hope you all have lovely evenings.

Can I sneak in with my head lowered, on a semi-lurking status please?
In the last 6 months I have put back a lot of weight, what with no kitchen, family stresses and general low mood. So now that I have a kitchen again (still not finished but functioning, at least) I would like to take control of my wayward eating patterns.
First of all, I am eating too much bread, too many sugary things and too much cheese.
Then, I am not being very organised, so need to try harder on this front.
Thirdly, I am on a grocery challenge and need to do this in a very economy way. So far pasta and bread have figured high on my diet, and I know that these are foods that upset my gut and make me bloated. They also fill me for a very short time and I tend to overeat afterwards.
I need to figure an eating plan that includes lots of veg, eggs, moderate amounts of cheese, small amounts of fish, small amounts of pulses and tiny amounts of whole grains, rice, millet etc. and only smidgins of good quality rye bread (wheat bloats me like a balloon).
So, not quite ready to step on the scales. But I would like to ask this lovely community of experienced slimmers for any suggestions. Thank you. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Welcome proserpina...verbose is good here, it's lovely hearing what folks are up tominicooper272 wrote: »I seem to just think I can think "I need to lose weight" and it will magically happen at the moment, without any change to my eating habits!
When you've worked out how to do that minicooper, let me know :rotfl:
I've got used to this dieting lark again, not snacking and counting calories...today had about 1300, and managed a walk.
I don't want to say what I had for tea, because it included fried tattie scones:rotfl:
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0
