Monday morning and the start of the new challenge...I'm going to take more notice of what I'm eating and get back on mfp.
I've been doing okay 4 mid week days, but going over on the weekends and that needs to stop because I've not lost anything for weeks.
This time last year I was doing great and lost regularly right up to xmas...I need to get back to that mindset!
I think it's because right now I'm not really bothered by how I look. Our family seems to be lurching from one crisis to another, and there's always something to be dealing with or worrying about (the latest is clearing a hoarded house of a family member needing to go into a care home)
To diet successfully I think we have to be a little bit selfish and put ourselves first, and I've just not been doing that lately. I've also not been walking so regularly because my back is playing up more than usual.
So now I know why I've not been doing well, let's see if I can change things

Well the popping candy choc didn't survive the night lol
Today:
B: branflakes, blueberries, lf greek yog, banana
S: I seeded toast with scrape of butter
L: HM tuna pasta salad with lf mayo- v nice if I do say so myself, red grapes
S: HM tea loaf
T: LO hairy bikers beef & ale casserole with a roasted veg bake on the side- using up some very sad looking veg!

Hi
I'm going to log my food for a few days to help get back on track as wasn't trying that hard to be good while I was off work.
You'll notice broccoli appearing nearly every day as bought a huge piece in Ald* at the weekend for 45p, I'm also trying to use up some stuff from cupboards/fridge that have been opened for quite a while so there maybe some weird combo's appearing
B: 2 crackerbread, scraping of spread
L: wrap filled with ham, rocket & gherkin with a scraping of mayo
S: 2 small oranges
T: Ald* breaded chicken steak, mash potato, broccoli, 1 sprout (found it hiding in bottom of the fridge :rotfl:) gravy0 -

Re the chocolate liquer i fear you only have 2 choices
1. Drink it all before wednesday (maybe make u abit sick tho?!):rotfl:
2. Get a trusted friend to keep it for you until the 1st Nov then you can drink it all
ha ha this made me laugh...I'm going to be really really good and leave it in the cupboard....that way I can take the lid off and sniff it when I'm desperate for chocolate0 -
Was doing well on my first day being strict...until I put a batch of double choc chip muffins in the oven at tea time
Not for me, you understand, but I had one while they were still warm.
I won't have any more, and have finished the day at around 1600 cals, so could do a lot better.
Haven't had time for a walk today.
There's now no chocolate in the house so ready for 1st October

Things are going OK my end, although it's a struggle getting my diet in order with the OH in the house now. I don't tend to buy chocolate or much in the way of sugary snacks - it's one of those things that I can quite happily go without these days, unless I know it's in the house, and then I can't help myself. My OH has to have something sweet in the house at all times, so since living with my OH I've started eating sugar every day again, and it's not doing me much good!
I've also gone from a 37.5 hour week to a 40 hour week, and my commute is now around 40 mins each way instead of 10-15mins. It's a bit tiring, which has also got me relying on pro-plus, and craving sugar hits from the tuck-shop at work (but again, I could probably live without if it wasn't just a few desk away). I think this will just be a case of getting used to it though, and maybe finding a slightly more filling lunch.0 -
minicooper ask your OH to put the goodies in a locked box and not eat it in front of you
(yes, I watched Corrie tonight, funny how the Platts just happened to have a lockable box in their kitchen cupboard :rotfl:)

Hiya everyone
Been thinking about this 'October' thing and I've decided I'm not giving up anything else - not much left anyway :rotfl:
I don't eat crisps or biscuits and gave up sugar ages ago. I have a slice of cake about once a fortnight and one piece of dark 70-80% chocolate every other day. I don't have take-aways apart from a pizza once a month ( I get a sm cheese and tomato and add tuna and anchovies). I don't eat sweets, chocolate bars and don't drink any fizzy drinks or squashes. I gave up smoking 6 months ago and am on the e-cigs and gum.
The only thing left really is the alcohol - and I don't drink that much. A glass of wine and a brandy in the evening and a couple of pints of ale once a week at the weekend. Surely I have to have something left to look forward to eh.
Sorry - just having a rant. Still want to lose some weight but don't want to feel miserable.
Good luck everyone on the new challenge and I guess I'll just have to get going on the exercise.
