Hi kittykitten :hello:
If you think your problem is portion control, I can highly recommend a cheap set of kitchen scales...I find them very useful for the high calorie stuff like cheese, cereal and potatoes.minicooper272 wrote: »
Project 333 sounds interesting - I was going to start swapping out all my summer clothes next week, so I might see what 33 items of clothing looks like!
Apparently you can tweak the rules to suit yourself...if you don't count undies, sleepwear and exercise clothes it might not be too hard.
I'm torn between wanting less clothes, but knowing I don't want to be buying more clothes in future years so feeling I should keep what I already have to save money, I just can't decide. Maybe it would be a start to get rid of things which are too big now.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
3 hours Sue14 well done.
Maybe all your gym work is paying off?
I'm the same height and weight as you, but I'm wearing mostly size 14s, or 16 if the top is tight, I don't exercise like you do and I'm not toned. But all my clothes are several years old...maybe I should go to pr*imark and give myself a mental boost lol.
And don't get me started on next trousers...how they don't understand their sizings are so far out I have no idea!!!
Today after work I changed into a skirt...a skirt! what's going on? :rotfl:...okay I also had leggings, purple, because the skirt wasn't that long and it's getting chillier, and lace up boots, all size 14. I'm Mrs Jeans and T shirt, but want to make more effort to wear something different, what's the point of having it in the cupboard if I never wear it? Especially now it mostly all fits again
Even one day a week would be an improvement...if I do it often enough my kids might stop asking me where I'm going every time I look nice :rotfl:
I really want to spend Saturday night with wine and crisps, but I'm too fullCan you be too full for wine?
Oh i love the idea that my hard working is paying off :rotfl:not sure that it is though unless i am replacing fat with muscle hence the scales not moving. I think im an olden day (10 yrs ago) size 14 as i have a shirt dress size 12 from years ago and I cant get in it!
I love the sound of your skirt/leggings outfitAnd no you can NEVER be too full for wine :rotfl:

Also regarding vanity sizings - I alsways find Next are small for their size, so they either must have mislabled the trousers, or you've lost more weight than you realise SSM
After my move, I am back to finding all my clothes too tight. I'm in a bit of a mood about it at the moment. I don't feel comfortable in any of my clothes, hate glimpsing myself in the mirror, and today when I went clothes shopping, I felt I needed to go UP a clothes size. It's quite quick to put weight on, isn't it? Unfortunately, hating how you look isn't a very good motivator for me, I find it makes me want to comfort eatkittykitten wrote: »I just wanted to say what an inspiration you lot have been. Having come to the realisation that I'm getting fat and can't go on like this I discovered this thread by accident this morning and have been dipping in and out of it all day.
I realised that I've been in denial about the weight I've gained when I had to give in and buy size 14 jeans last week, because I couldn't get my belly squeezed into the size 12. And we're talking m&s jeans here, their sizes are quite generous. I've done various faddy diets in the past, but never managed to keep the weight off. OS has to be the way forward.
Through looking at all your experiences on here and revelations I now know I have portion size issues (I love living alone, but it's hard to cook for one, but I know that's no excuse), and snack too much between meals and rely on prepared food rather than cooking from scratch.
I haven't plucked up the courage to step on the wii yet (I don't own scales) but wanted to thank you all for being honest enough on here to make me realise it's possible to take control of my eating habits and lose weight.
Hi and welcome
I love how honest people are on here too/how easy it is to be honest as noone knows who you are in the real world so you can be as honest as you want :rotfl:
Living alone I would imagine would be frustrating with regards to cooking and I guess if you want to cook from scratch and follow a reciepe for 4 you could eat one and freeze 3?O/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -

I usually cooked enough for 2-3 nights and just ate the same thing for a few days at a time. A freezer really helps with that, although the biggest temptation is going back for seconds (like if I cook a big pot of chilli).0 -
I'm really bad at going back for seconds!
Ok, here goes for today:
B: low fat granola, ss milk
L: 4 crackers, low fat hummus2x salmon & prawn fishcakes, salad
4x cups of tea, 2x glasses water, 1x can diet coke.
Most importantly, no sweets/puddings!OS weight loss challenge: 4.5/6 lbs0 -
Been slipping with posts lately but I will try to keep up this week
B - 2 slices WW Danish with marmalade
L - 3 crackerbread with cheese
D - small trout carrots, peas, mange touts
S - penguin, 2 oreos, banana
E - emptied all the kitchen drawers and cupboards, cleaned, sorted and put back half of what I took out! The other half is either binned or going to a car boot.0 -

Whats with this vanity sizing its daft really!
It really is daft, but it's a bit of a mental boost to find you can buy smaller sizes than expected, lol! If I were to get back to the size 12 that I used to be (i.e. 24" waist), I wouldn't be able to shop in pr*mark as everything would be too big, as their smallest size is a 6 and I'm currently able to buy size 8s, although my waist is 28", so I think I'd need a 4 according to their sizing, lol!3 hours Sue14 well done.
It seemed like a good idea at the time, but my shoulders and abs have been telling me about it over the weekend, lol!kittykitten wrote: »I just wanted to say what an inspiration you lot have been. Hi and welcome, old style is definitely the way to do it, you will always put the weight back on if you go on faddy diets. Eat less, move more and you will lose weight and keep it off (well I'm hoping it will stay off this time anyway, lol!), it's as simple as that. Of course it takes a lot of willpower, but if you focus on how you want to look and feel, you will do it. Good luck.
Having said that I've not done too well today.
B bran flakes with sultanas and semi skimmed milk (good start, lol!)
L lasagne, chips and beans in Mr A's cafe
D pizza and potato skins
S 1 banana, low cal cereal bar
E walking round town for about 3 and a half hours, 20 minutes on exercise bike
I've also had 3 generous glasses of malibu (a!di own) and diet coke. Oh well a new day and week starts tomorrow, so back on it, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Hi all, I weighed in Friday with a 1lb gain to be honest I'm surprised it wasn't more, but I wasn't brave enough to weigh today. TOTM now, which may partly explain my awful eating last week, that and we bought a deep fryer so that had to have a lot of testing
Back on the wagon this week... Still hopeful I can make my end of month target.
Had an omelette for breakfast... I seem to be ok if I can avoid too many carbs!
Snack - Cereal bar (a decent one though!)
Lunch - small bowl of homemade chicken and veg soup.
Dinner - Roast lamb, roast potatoes, carrots and cabbage with gravy.
Hope everyone else has done better xJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
