Morning
Another 2lb loss for me this week ...means I hit the 3 stone mark :j
Well done pm2326, that's marvellous :T
I experienced a really weird phenomenon today...I was driving home from work at tea time, with a bar of chocolate in the car, and realised that I wasn't hungry and I didn't want it!
After a while I thought I'd do a test and ate one piece, and...I didn't want it!!! What's going on, do you think I'm coming down with something? :rotfl:
So it's still in my bag. And (especially for you savesummore), it's popping candy chocolate
I really don't want to admit this, and even considered just ignoring the scales this week...I've gained 1 lb...most annoyed at myself.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Well, weighed in and have a 2lb gain
When I weighed before we left, I had lost 1lb but didn't get round to recording it on here so this week's gain will show as +1lbs
Really going to have to try and get motivated again this week as I would hate to start putting the weight on again.2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -

karens100dayys wrote: »Hiyas all can I join your friendly challenge please I sat and worked out I have spent probably close too a thousand pounds in slimming groups weekly charges, bars, magazines bus fare there and back raffles a mad spurt on juice plus and the grand total of pounds lost since last August is +12lbs how pathetic is that, but I will use that as a reminder that hard work from me is all it really takes .. I intend sticking to cals and having hubby weigh me instead maybe even pop a fiver in a tin for a family treat I need to find out how many cals I should be eating tho and go from there x
Hi and welcome, putting the money saved into a tin for treats sounds like a great plan.savesummore wrote: »Hi and welcome
I know where you are coming from with the slimming groups- I attended one for about 6/8 weeks and by the time id paid £5 to be weighed, £10 to join, raffle, special 'choc bars', magazine etc etc it was costing a small fortune so I stopped and just weigh myself now!
I use My fitness pal to track my calories, which you can access free online HTH
Tbh I've never seen the point in going to a slimming club if you're not going to put in the effort (I've never been able to afford to go to one anyway, lol!), as the only person who can lose the weight is yourself, the person taking your money and weighing you isn't going to do it for you. I have a friend who was going to SW for about 3 years and had only lost about 7 pounds, and she is now trying WW, yet I've lost 3 and a half stone in 15 months just by eating less and exercising more. I have to agree about the MFP, it's certainly helped me to keep focused.
Having said that I have to admit to putting on another 1lb this week! Not that it's totally unexpected, as I've been eating badly this week due to being off work (and of course my chocolate birthday cake hasn't helped, lol!), and I've had some problems with my back again so I've not been able to exercise very much. Back to work tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get back on track and lose something next week I hope I do anyway as we are out to dinner again next Saturday for OH's birthday !

Sue14- Totally agree with you re slimming clubs at the end of the day its only yourself that can lose the weight and if these slimming clubs actually worked then surely none of us would be over weight anymore? I got fed up very quickly of keep handing money over to them

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Yeah, I'm sure you'd hold it and keep it safe :rotfl:
When I was a kid, my dad used to give our labrador a piece of biscuit and say "now just hold that for me for later" and then a couple of minutes later say to him "where's my biscuit?" and us kids would be all "oh no, he's eaten it, he didn't keep it for you!"
Jeez, we were easy to wind up :rotfl:

Exactly! It always makes me laugh when people say 'the only thing that works for me is SW/WW etc' and then say that they always use that method to lose weight, if it worked you wouldn't need to keep going back once you'd got to your goal weight, because you'd never get fat again! I keep being asked how I've lost my weight, and they are always shocked to find that it's been as simple as eating less and exercising more. It's not always easy, but if you allow yourself to have treats now and then, and don't completely ban anything, then I feel it's much easier to stick with it. If it's not something you can sustain for life, the weight will go back on no matter how you lose it, and I am determined that's not going to happen this time! It's been a real boost to my confidence to have people commenting on how great I look now, especially when one of them is my (skinny minnie) SIL!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
