We went to a local tearoom which has the most delicious looking desserts, like lemon meringue, banoffi, stuff like that...there's no low cal options, and the portions are huge!
However, I chose a jacket potato with cheese, salad and coleslaw, and we used "the delaying tactic"...decided we'd go back for dessert if we wanted it after the first course. Of course, we were full, so told ourselves we'd go round the shops then come back if we felt like it...we didn't go back, and I was telling myself I'm going out later in the week, and I can have dessert then (not that I'm wishing my life away or anything :rotfl:)
I find it really helpful to tell myself I can "have it later", often I don't bother later.
I'm pleased with the change in my thinking...in the "old days" I would have had cake whether I was full or not, because I was out and it was there for the taking, whereas now I can make a sensible decision about hungry/full I am.
Maybe one day I'll have to go and just have the cake
Been for a walk this evening, well more of a stroll, I feel really heavy tonight, not light on my feet at all
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
So sorry for your loss Sue, hope the situation with your sister improves and doesn't give you any more upset x0
