Welcome jlhmd666Does everyone here eat breakfast?
I definitely eat breakfast, sometimes it's the reason I get up
Although I'm trying to make it healthier, right now I'm on fruit and nut muesli with ss milk.
Knit Witch, I thought the C word was banned until December 1st :rotfl:
Think I just kept things under control yesterday...had around 1500 cals and did a 45 minute walk and a fair bit of housework. Refused cake at a friends, and like lazer, didn't drink the wine I'd planned to have in the evening.
Today...not so good, had to buy something out for lunch. I find it very difficult to know what to get if I'm out and about, it's so much easier to take something from home but that wasn't an option today. Settled on a jacket potato (no butter) with salad and cheese, working on the theory that a medium potato would have around the same calories as a large roll, but be more filling, although I don't know if that's right or wrong.
What does everyone else choose if they have to buy something out?
I ignore the chips, but even filled rolls and snacks can be very high in calories.
ETA, I also had 2 walks today, 45 minutes at lunch time, and 45 minutes before breakfast along the beach in the glorious sunshine, lovely!

Sorry! Re the C word - but we are nearly half way through the year
Eating out - I tend to go for either a jacket with cheese and LOTS of salad or veggie soup and a roll (of the roll is safe for me to eat)Must use my stash up!0 -
Hi All
Today not so bad,
B. porridge made with a bit of milk and mainly water, couple of squashy strawbs
L. Ham salad with bulgar wheat, watermelon.
D. Small bowl of left over beef curry, there is another bowl in the fridge and I am still hungry, waiting to see if dh is likely to eat it if not, it will be mine.
Ellie and walk on the beach sounds lovely, makes exercise more enjoyable if the weather is nice and the view is spectacular, I walked to a fro to the station then round the shop several times, not in the least enjoyable but am on 6987 steps today, far too short of my 10k limit 'You have brains in your head. I have been working out 4x a week at the gym and didn't lose a single pound this week! Hey ho, I want to get fitter as well as thinner, and I am SURE the gym is helping with that (or at least it should be, the mount I sweat!).
I think if you do more than just aerobic exercise, you will gain muscle at the gym, so your weight loss will be skewed. Because I spend all my time at the gym using free weights, I now weigh myself and measure myself.
Still feeling a little poorly today, don't seem to have taste buds and everything tasted bland. I migrated up to proper food though, a carb fest of toast, crackers, falafel in pitta breads and pizza for dinner. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get back to normal! Or at least a few more veggies...0 -

so seems my potato and cheese wasn't a bad choice then
(it was *very* nice too)
I couldn't manage soup in the car (as in driving to find a suitable layby to eat it!), there's a 100% chance it would get spilt :rotfl:
At least I didn't buy a cake as well...I eyed them up in great detail when I was in the bakers, but thought that would greedy as I knew I wouldn't be hungry after the potato
Sirens, I used to walk at least 10k steps every day, but the walking (and attempts to jog) put my back out and laid me up for months. I'd really like to be doing it again now that I can walk a bit more, but I'm scared if I try to do too much I'll injure myself again, I have a spine problem which means I'm really prone to injury. It's really frustrating wanting to exercise and trying to be careful at the same time...no jogging, and even no hills (not that I can always avoid hills, but I'm avoiding routes I used to do that have steep hills.
I bought a book in the second hand shop today about pilates, I suppose I'll have to read it to see if it will help, it won't work just lying on a shelf :-)

If you are a complete beginner and have back problems, I would suggest going to a class for the first few attempts, as you will have someone to correct your technique and tell you how to avoid hurting your back. I do like Pilates, and there are some nice positions that make your back just sigh with relief...0 -

I know you're right minicooper, and I already know which teacher I would ask if I decide to try it. Just flicked through the book last night, it seems interesting, over half of it is talking about pilates rather than just showing the moves. I don't know, going to classes is not really my thing, and I'm very stiff and unco-ordinated, I don't know if I'll ever get up the courage to go to a class.
savesummore, enjoy your holiday
I've really had the munchies today, I've wanted to eat all day. I've managed not to though, and am pleased I made the effort. Just about to have chicken kiev, veg and oven chips, and will be coming in under calories if I stop after that.
Been for an hours walk in the country, and now have very itchy sore eyes, the downside of having lovely countryside to walk in at hayfever time
