Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind me joining in this thread. In April I started going to the health trainer at my GP's surgery for some support to loose weight (have a lot to loose), and so far I have lost 17lb. I am doing calorie counting on 1500 cals per day, and so far have found it OK. Will look forward to hints and tips up, and so good luck to you all in your weight loss0

1.5 lbs off this week, after three weeks of nothing! Have been rubbish at keeping up with the goings on here but well done everyone who is losing. I need a miracle to reach target. Also can't seem to master the colour/font size on iPad.
Thanks to KnitWitch for running the challenge.MFIT -T5 #420 -

Hi everyone
Half way through the weekend and I'm doing okay...had about 1450 calories yesterday...it's now so long since I had a pizza takeaway that I can't remember when it was (being away from my favourite shop at the weekend certainly helps)
Did something unusual yesterday...I wore my new £10 m@talan dress, with tights (thick obviously, I need breaking in gently!) and boots with heels. I'm sure some of you are thinking "so what?", but I absolutely live in jeans...it's about 3 years since I've worn anything else...which is, since I started putting weight on, I only make the effort with clothes when I'm slimmer.
tbh it felt slightly strange, mostly the heels I think. And of course it was pee-ing down yesterday, which didn't help :rotfl:
I packed my jeans for today, but I've forgotten my belt...wondering if I can tie a scarf tightly enough round my hips to keep them up...don't really want to look like an aging hippy though :rotfl:
I know my weight loss is slow, but I'm really determined to keep going at the moment. It's a combination of things...knowing that I'm getting closer to that stage where clothes will look nice without thinking about it (not there yet!), but more so it's about health.
I know we can't dictate what health problems we might have, and some are unluckier than others, but I've realised that the one thing I can control is being at the correct weight, so hopefully not encouraging illnesses that are more common with obesity.
I feel like it's my responsibility to be as well as I can for as long as I can...I owe it to myself and to my children. I'm single, so there's no-one to lean on, and share jobs with, I need to be physically able to do things by myself.
So...it's going slowly, but I figure if I keep being aware of what I'm eating, the pounds will eventually go.
(although I may have a virtual tantrum next week if I don't lose a pound :rotfl:)
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

I have started doing this too, just on weekends, not at work. It's making an effort to dress how you see yourself dressing when you're slim, which helps to spur me on.
I woke up feeling so faint today, followed a couple of hours later by being sick. Now trying to distract myself... I've managed to force down a few crackers to up my salt again. It's days like these I do wish I had something stodgy in the house though. I will try to work my way up to bread or similar later, but have none in the house.0 -

Very well put minicooper, that's exactly it!
Hope you feel better soon.
I have used up a whole weeks worth of willpower this morning...went to a supermarket for milk, and they had both large and small bars of popping candy choc at the checkout queues!...now I know how little children feel when they see it :rotfl:
wouldn't it be funny if you could see what people were thinking in the queues, with thought bubbles above their heads?
Mine would be along the lines of "ooh, popping candy choc! mmm, I love that stuff..no, you musn't buy it, eat a bar of that and you can wave goodbye to any weight loss this week right now...walk away, walk away.."
But of course I can't walk away because I'm in a queue, I had to avert my eyes instead, and focus on looking good in my clothes some day soon :rotfl:
