ha ha, I'd forgotten about the knife and fork! I never did that either, I already eat slower than the rest of the family!
From what I can remember, his biggest piece of advice was to only eat when hungry, and stop when you're full. So obvious we shouldn't need telling really.

I've never heard the whole CD, it always sent me to sleep :o

Me neither! I think he had 4 rules if I remember right. Drinking a glass of water when you feel hungry to check it's not just thirst, eating slowly, watching out for emotional eating (I do remember sticking an 'am I hungry or am I bored' post-it on my fridge :rotfl:) but I forget the other one...

I'm guilty of all of that, I eat when I a thirsty, I wolf my food, I eat for comfort and when I'm bored. Maybe I should listen to this CD. I wonder if it is on YouTube.

Mardatha When I was in slimming world they told me that smoothies had as much sugar in them than coke, they let you have as much fruit as you wanted but that did NOT include the same fruit made into smoothies, which were sins. I have a centrifugal juicer attachment to my food processor - it works quite well and is not too difficult to clean. My DD went through a smoothly phase - didn't last long.

When I used to go to Weight Watchers, the leader suggested using a blue coloured dinner plate, apparently, the colour's supposed to make you go off your food, this didn't really do anything for me though! (Not that I actually went out a bought a blue dinner plate, we already had some in the house!)

I think all these psychological weight loss ideas depend on the individual, the blue plates don't put me and you off our food tessie, but I bet it works for some people, we're all different, my wedding dress pictures help keep me motivated as they remind me of a slimmer me, but others may use "fat" images and find they work just as well for reminding them what they DON'T want to look like.
As promised, I made my chicken curry, and it went well, I was nervous as last time I did it, I messed up, using boiling water instead of oil in the saucepan, and then wondering why it didn't turn out right :o. However, this time, I read the recipe carefully, used oil and it was DELICIOUS :D. I didn't add chopped banana, dried apricots and raisins as it said on the recipe though as I found all that too sweet last time, I just used onions as well as mild curry paste, garlic, a stock cube and coriander, and I was wondering what sort of other vegetables I could add to bulk it out? Anyone got any ideas? Anyway, off to the gym now :) PS. hubby was eating chips and normally I'd just help myself to a couple but I RESISTED :A). See you all later, hope everyone's having a great day!

That's funny, I don't like eating off blue or green plates and only buy white or cream dinner services. Just thinking is of eating off a green plate typing this is turning my stomach lol.

Been reading about bone health, especially as we get older...yet another reason to be slim!

"Being overweight – that means having a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or more –increases your risk of developing weak, fragile bones. One of the main reasons for this is that carrying excess body fat reduces the amount of vitamin D circulating in your blood. Vitamin D helps the body to absorb calcium so it’s vital for bone health."

However the article (http://www.yours.co.uk/shared/PageTemplates/Article/Article.aspx?id=10048) also says constant dieting is bad...so we should lose it and keep it off! Sounds easy, doesn't it? :)

I haven't dieted today again, and I don't like not knowing how much I'm going over in calories...I do know I've eaten more than I should :o

Back to my own kitchen now though, so no excuses not to start again tomorrow, just finding it hard to keep up the interest.
It may be time for a kick up the you-know-what by Knit witch!

Hectic day today, straight out for a birthday celebration after work. Was intending going for the leggara range at pizza express but somehow ended up with calzone AND a large glass of wine. Too stuffed for pudding, but it was lush.

    B banana
L left over chili and tiny bit of rice
D out for calzone and wine
    S biscuit

I know this is nowhere near being a good "diet" day but it is a step in the right direction compared to recent months as it was semi planned and not much snacking.

Emilyjackson - how was your curry? Im veggie so I stick any sort of veg in mine, carrots and cauliflower or green beans and mushrooms, whatever is to hand. I wouldn't fancy banana....
