Thanks for all the good wishes :T, I was really pleased as it was my first weigh in since coming on here and making a big effort with the over eating and trying to go to the gym regularly, so it was good to see that my positive changes are making a difference, long may it continue! It was my first weigh in in 2 weeks because of last week's bank holiday, my primary care trust hold weekly weigh in's across the community, and you get weighed and have the opportunity to have a chat with an wellbeing mentor and ask any questions, the lady's name is Lois, and she's really nice and non judgemental, like you lot :A. I feel like my photos of the "slim" me in my wedding dress in the kitchen are helping as well, it helps me to visualise myself as "slim", and motivates me. I've still got my wedding dress, and when I lose some more weight, I'll try it on, and that will motivate me as well, this sort of thing means more to me than numbers. What other things do people find help keep them motivated and focused? I've borrowed Paul McKenna's book from the library, "I can Make You Thin", I probably won't listen to the cd, but the book may have some useful ideas. I'm going to make a healthy curry tomorrow, I'm still in the process of trying out healthy recipes to see which ones I like, and then I can incorporate them into my diet, I've already got about five that I really like0

This current challenge has 4 more weigh ins (so if you want to join in let me know how much you would like to lose in that time!), I will be setting another challenge up immediately afterwards as wellMust use my stash up!0 -
Thanks knit witch. 4 weigh ins is perfect as that takes me up to when we go on holiday, but don't worry about changing your spreadsheet if it is a lot of bother, I'm happy to get motivation by hearing everyones chat and posting my menu.
I am aiming to lose 7lbs in the 4 weeks, perhaps over ambitious but I have been eating dreadfully for a month so I'm hoping some of it will come off quickly ...0 -

Could anybody in here give me advice on smoothies and juicers? Like recipes and what kind of thing to take, what helps energy levels etc?
There's a good documentary on juicing 'fat sick and nearly dead'. Juices are very healthy, but you should always use fresher ingredients and drink them fresh. As soon as you juice them, they start to lose nutrients. The risk we were always warned of with juices/smoothies, is that you will have more of the vegetables than you would if whole I.e. I might eat 1 carrot, but I can drink 3.
Lots of recipes if you Google them!0 -

Well itsmecathy, that's you told, there's no messing with Knit Witch :rotfl:
Emily jackson, if you've got time, why not listen to the CD as well? You never know what might sink in sub-consciously!
I've listened to it in the past, and from what I can remember it was helpful...if nothing else, making the time to listen reinforced my commitment to losing weight. (actually maybe I should see if I can find it again, I could do with some more motivation right now)
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

This is coincidental, I just stumbled on my CD last night. I didn't get on so well with it as a teenager, I felt far too self conscious putting my knife and fork down between mouthfuls. I seem to want to diet without anyone noticing that I'm doing anything different! :rotfl::rotfl:
I might give it a listen again now, see if it works differently now I'm older.0 -

ha ha, I'd forgotten about the knife and fork! I never did that either, I already eat slower than the rest of the family!
From what I can remember, his biggest piece of advice was to only eat when hungry, and stop when you're full. So obvious we shouldn't need telling really.
I've never heard the whole CD, it always sent me to sleep
