Right, back to my own place, I can control what I eat again! I'm trying to spend as little as possible on food to the end of the month (beyond skint this week). I managed to get 10 days worth of healthy food for £10.33 :T (will use a chicken breast and tin of tuna I already have in though). It was a really good way to stop myself from picking up any snacks at the supermarket, so I need to aim for a tight budget more often!
I will have porridge for breakfasts, tuna salad or carrot and ginger soup (with a small roll) for lunches and mostly curries for dinner.0 -
Cross posted with Mrs Cautious - welcome to the challenge! What a stressful few weeks you've had! Well done on taking it as a motivation to lose weight, and congratulations on your weight loss so far0

Hello Mrs Cautious,
I can't really welcome you in here properly as I've only just joined myself but hello from me, congratulations on your motivation and subsequent weight loss and I hope this board helps spur you (and I) onto further success.
Good Luck

Welcome Mrs Cautious, I'm so sorry for your loss. I do wish you lots of success with your weight loss and getting your health back. You meals sound very good, I too go along with the natural food is better approach!
I just want to give you a little link to a YouTube video that has really helped me and hubby (he was 21.5 stone when we began, 19.5 now after a couple of months and more to go) http://youtu.be/df2gn6-w0dE
It might help you and you can do it at home very easily!0 -
Yay thank you everyone for your welcome, really appreciate it, am feeling fired up and motivated, will check out the video, busy at work today and starting the day with toast and a fruit tea.0

I have been making lots of bolognese recentley but loading up on the onion and mushroom in it! I use 200g mince (as opposed to 400g) and then normally 150g mushroom and 300g onion (because I tend to have more onions in than mushroom) and then 400g tin of toms.
With 50g cooked pasta it comes in at under 500 cals a portion (above serves 2) but the portions are massive! I am going to start exerimenting soon by putting peas in it and then something else, as I want to make my own cheap 5-a-day bolognese.
But the above is cheap (I got the pork mince on offer from Aldi for £1.49/400g) and healthy and filling!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Try a tin of sweetcorn. I make lasagna with my own cheese sauce, a pack of mince, a jar of pasta sauce (just a normal one) and sometimes I throw in sweetcorn. Bacon (if you cook it beforehand and trim and drain the fat) is also very nice with it or on the side.
My mum also makes a killer hotpot with mince and potatoes in it, homemade dumplings (drool) and lots of veg including carrots, butter beans, peas, etc.0 -
