'you wouldn't worry about what people think, if you realised how seldom they do'0 -
Afternoon everyone
Didn't expect to be around this week as I was supposed to be having my operation, but it got cancelled at the last moment - after I'd spent a whole day in hospital nil-by-mouth  Haven't weighed myself yet, but don't expect too much - went to the chippie on the way home from hospital to make up for lost eating time :rotfl: Hoping I can lose a few more 1lbs before the rescheduled op.I'm reporting a 1lb gain.We had the dreaded 'job cuts' news last week and I've been struggling to keep on top of my emotions since then. Money is tight as it is so heaven knows how we'll manage when I'm out of work.
Sorry to hear about the job cuts. Are you getting reasonable notice so you can start looking for something else? I think they're obliged to let you take time off for interviews etc. We're all here for you if you need advice or space to vent. (((Hugs)))Morning all
Have STS this week as I have been eating more erratic of late due to being unwell and totm beginning of the week. Feeling a bitbut will carry on and get back on track as i have done so well so far.
Well done for sticking at it. I know what you mean about erratic eating when not well - STS is a really good result. I'm finding it hard to face exercise so feel I'm battling the weight with one hand tied behind my back. Even asked the hospital how much weight the surgery would add so I can account for it :rotfl:Well done everyone!
I have always had a savoury tooth and a monster for crisps, cheese and crackers. I went to cut a piece of cheese to grate on Chilli yesterday and found the ends and corners had all dried out and gone hard. There's no way one piece of cheese ever lasted that long before.
Glad to hear I'm not the only cheese aholic. Your willpower sounds much stronger than mine. I'm trying to switch to cottage cheese, edam and feta - but no cheese has gone hard here.
Well done everyone on progress to date.0 -

6 weeks to go...
Well done everyone, keep up the good work. Soon the weather will warm up, the days will seem longer and we will hopefully all find it a little easier. These really are the worst months of the year for weight loss and to keep on trying shows great determination. You are all doing really well just by being here, even if you feel you have had a failed week or two at least you're trying. It WILL get easierJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Pitlanepiglet - really sorry you've still not lost anything, you are doing really well to stick at it. If you have another week like this I would see you doctor just in case you have any medical reason it's not coming off (some people with thyroid problems find they have a lot of trouble losing weight, I seem to be just about managing it but I'm sure it makes it harder).
Thanks Ragz, I'll keep going like this for another few weeks until I go part time, then I can ramp up the exercise a bit and see what happens. I'm also going to lay off alcohol this week and see if that makes a difference, I've been drinking at weekends and factoring it into my calories, but maybe it doesn't help....
At least I'm not putting on!
AND actually I have exaggerated slightly, I did have a loss this week - a whole 100g or 4 oz that's been worth being good for! :rotfl:Piglet

Evening all.
B - Nothing.
L - A small tin of mackerel with 3 crackerbreads and a small piece of cheese.
T - Egg and chips with 2 sausage.
S - Nothing so far.
E - 3 solid hours on my hands and knees with a bottle of white spirits getting up 8 long strips of double sided carpet tape from the huge rug we had in the dining room. I will never, ever, ever be so liberal with the tape again whilst trying to tame a wandering rug.If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

Hi all, well done everyone who is still sticking at it! I was away last week visiting family so lots of extra food and no exercise. Not surprising then that I am reporting a 1LB GAIN.
On the plus side I went for a run tonight and was flying. Felt really strong and really enjoyed it which makes me want to go and do it again. I have got to get 3 runs in next week and then surely the weight will start to go. I have just got to avoid the chocolates my sister gave me to bring home!0 -

Thanks. We don't have a clear timescale yet, just that it will be within the next few months. It's all very vague at this point. They'll be fine about interviews - they've always been very reasonable with things like that, so it could be worse. I'll just have to look for the silver lining and hope something good turns up. Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

Morning everyone!
I had another good day yesterday, I stuck to my meal plan without nibbling on extras, plus I had a good swim. I feel as if I am getting back on track now. Hopefully I will be rewarded on the scales next Friday.
My meal plans are -
B - porridge with dried fruit
L -pitta with halloumi light, tatziki and tomatoes
D - veggie chilli, quinoa
S's -fruit, nuts
Exercise - my own routine - pushups, squats, lunges etc plus some stepping for aerobics. Walking to shops and back [a couple of miles].
Have a good day everyone, and keep up the good work0
