Its my collegues birthday so she has brought in cream cakes but ive already decided im not going to have one :A
ooh, the willpower, well done :T
What is actually sending you all off the rail? Is the booze more than the eating? Is it the people you are with? Is it just you rewarding yourself for the week? Is it because you go out for dinner? Is it boredom?
What's with these stupid weekends that make us go crazy!!
These 2 for me...Monday to Friday I eat breakfast and lunch alone, and have evening meal sorted before DS1 comes home from work, but at weekends if he's around he says things like "I'm making bacon butties, do you want one?" or "I'm bringing pizza home, do you want one too?" And sometimes DS2 comes round to eat, and being his mother I want to give him something nice, and we have dessert...of course I could say no to all these things, but it's very hard when they're eating in front of you and you can smell it.
My biggest problem is thinking weekend = treat time...I will sometimes have takeaway even when I'm on my own, so can't blame anyone else! I've noticed I do it more if I'm feeling down, but I do it when I'm happy too!
If I was to analyse myself (which I'm not in the habit of doing) I'd say I've been doing this for years. When my kids were growing up, we lived in a cul de sac with lots of young families, and the kids all played together. All the other families were the usual mum, dad, couple of kids, but I'd been widowed, so was on my own. At weekends, I'd see all these families going off to do things together, and sometimes the only people I spoke to all weekend would be my kids. I felt when all my friends were happily married, I couldn't expect them to want to spend time with us at the weekend...a woman on her own is more expected to meet with her friends when the husband is busy elsewhere.
(It's still the same now...not always, but I usually meet my friends through the day, or on week nights)
Ssooo...I think that's where the treat thing came from...we'd have nice food in the garden in the summer, or a takeaway at the fire while watching a film in the winter (although I didn't feed my kids takeaway too often, it's got worse since they've grown up:o)
Wow, I hadn't even thought of that before! Sorry for rambling on.
It's really ingrained in me now, and tbh I think it's quite nice to be able to have something special and nice to eat at the weekend.
If it wasn't for the fact I'm trying to lose weight it wouldn't be a problem. i don't drink very much, I just love my pizza and chips!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

ellie sorry to hear about that. I do agree with you wholeheartedly that weekends come across as a treat time. Personally it feels like I need to tell my brain it's a weekend, and I do that with a Friday treat myself. It's become a bit ingrained into us as a culture I think.
Clocking in with a 2lb loss this week. Just the 2lbs I gained last week. Away again this weekend, so hope to avoid gaining anything by next weekend. Is it the last weigh in next week?
I am in a mood to comfort eat at the moment. I feel like I've spent most of my week being almost-shouted-at by customers, I even had someone send an unjustified complaint against me (I wouldn't break the law for them). Trying to find some other way to comfort myself instead, but my weekend will probably start with wine!0 -
