, every Friday I get to 20-7 and then during the week it goes up and down like a Bride's Nightie!
:rotfl::rotfl: I'm glad I'm not alone though!
I have been stock-piling books on healing/medicinal foods, which basically means I can look up carrots and see what vitamins they contain and how it helps the bodyHave to say, if you put two pills infront of me, one was a sugar pill and the other a slightly bitter pill that had these benefits, I know which one I'd pick every time. Pop a carrot stick in front of me vs a chocolate finger, and the answer would be completely different :rotfl::rotfl:

Of course your consultant is pleased, you've done amazingly well!
I wonder how much your new boob will weigh? Your BMI could go back up again

Good morning!!
This morning I decided I would have written a confession and tell you how rubbish my weeks are...then I realised we are all pretty much in the same boat!?!
I feel sooo guilty and not motivated at all to post my food diary on here.
I do weigh myself almost everyday (say 6 times out of 7), which I know is wrong for my mental sanity and does not tell much progress-wise. I should weigh myself less, maybe moving the scale out of the toilet.
I do lose weight every week but I feel that it is just because (or thanks to) my Wednesdays and Thursdays.
I am out on Wednesdays and I don't go home after work (the place is closer to work and would not make sense to go home). I bring food for dinner but I have to eat earlier than usual and I dont feel like it. So I always end up having a fist sized amount of food. Then I get home at 10.15 and it's too late.
On Thursdays I have got my Pilates class so I get home really motivated and eat very healthily.
I don't skip meals or anything, but somehow it feels wrong. Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays also are good but I spend those 2 days making up for Friday night and Saturday night.
Let's talk numbers:
After my good results last Friday morning, I was something like +0.9kg by Monday/Tuesday and now (yesterday being Wednesday ) I am even lower than Friday by 0.5kg. So obviously tomorrow will be alright, but it feels wrong!!!!
I don't feed myself with Doritos 24/7, but I think I could do even better than what I do now. I promise I will write my food diary from now on.
Sooo...Since a few of you talk about fluctuating weight during the week..I guess I am not the only naughty one who cheats and weighs herself everyday...?!?!
JackieO - So happy for you! This makes all the sacrifices worthwhile, doesn't it!!
Oh, yes!!
For the weekend over-doers like me:
this is nothing avant-garde, but I always try to start my friday evening with an enjoyable alternative to crisps (if that is your problem) or general finger foods. See image below.
It has been almost a month since our last purchase of crisps, but bf and I are not novices when it comes to open 1 bag each and then - halfway through the bag - be too tired/lazy to make dinner. Result: we finish all the crisps.
I do this quite often during the week (simply because I love it!!), but last time I have done it on a Friday (carrots, celery, fennel), I ate less than half a bag of doritos (that infamous last purchase of crisps I mentioned above!!). Still not great but better!
Stay strong!!0 -
Franigan that photo looks lovely, really colourful.
I don't consider Friday evenings as the start of the weekend (probably because I work Saturday mornings) so I just tend to go off the rails Sat/Sun.
Why do you think what you're doing is wrong? If you didn't weigh every day, you wouldn't even know about the fluctuations, you'd just see a loss on the Friday. If you can manage to lose by "being good" on only some days of the week, well, I'd consider that a win! There's no law that says you have to eat the same amount every day.
For years I believed I should only weigh once a week, but on this challenge I've been doing it almost every day. I don't let it freak me out though (apart from the odd moan on here)
I find if I'm up a pound, it encourages me to try harder, and if I'm down a pound, I want to be good so it stays off, IYKWIM.
I guess it boils down to being in the right frame of mind to cope with it.
At least I'm not as bad as my friend, who weighs at home in the morning...then if she's at mine in the afternoon, will weigh herself on my scales...what's the point of that? different scales, different time of day, clothes on...well, I hope she has her clothes on...:rotfl:
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Buaahahaha!! You made me laugh with your friend's story! :rotfl:
The pic was stolen from the internet, but the colours of the "real deal" are always so pretty!
What you say is very true...and I should stop putting myself down!!!
I know, all in all I am doing well, but I spent my whole life watching my mum gaining and losing weight (CONSTANTLY!!) and I am just scared that I am going to do the same.
Only towards her 50th birthday (a couple of years ago) she found HER way to lose weight permanently. Something that worked for her. "Zero program" or some similar name. I cannot remember what was involved but is was bl**dy expensive! I think she found it in her herbalist's shop..not sure..
Anyway..Regardless of the weight, I am scared that I am not as healthy as I could be. I am preparing my body to conceive in a few months or whenever it happens (sorry, TMI!!), so I got a bit obsessed with it. Aaaallll in my head!
As I said already on the GC thread: take my whinging with a pinch of salt!!!
PS: thanks for reading that long post!
What is actually sending you all off the rail? Is the booze more than the eating? Is it the people you are with? Is it just you rewarding yourself for the week? Is it because you go out for dinner? Is it boredom?
What's with these stupid weekends that make us go crazy!!0 -
