This week i have ate alot better and feel less bloated I just need to try and get my act together exercise wise and eat less of a weekend
I no this isnt really diet related but has anyone had any experience of going from working full time to part time? Im struggling to keep up with my course whilst working full time but not sure ill cope on a part time wage...........thing is (hopefully) in 2 years ill be a qualified sign language interpretor and be earning more that i do now
Well done all the losers :TO/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -

I went from full time to part time years ago when I had a stressful job.
But back then I had DH who was quite old fashioned and was very happy to earn more than half the household money. When we'd worked out that we could afford it, I cut my hours to 8am - 1pm.
Personally, I loved it, and it gave me the time to do the back-up work for a business we set up together (and I really liked having afternoons to do housework and prepare a meal...no more rushing home every night).
It's a hard decision with the cost of everything nowadays...you need to do a budget to see how it would work financially.
From more recent experience, when I calculated if I could manage without a job for a while, I worked out my yearly expenditure and thought I could, but I didn't consider the large price increases of food and gas/electric, so am now back working part time.
So allow a bit for price increases in your calculations!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Thanks Ellie
I will sit down and do a proper budget- I think we would manage bills wise but not exactly have loads left for treats (money to waste) so I think if I could get my head round this i would be fine
Its the old thing isnt it-we all need money but is time actually more valuable?O/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -

It's a hard call, isn't it? Managing to find that happy medium.
Not having anything left for treats is more bearable if you can see an end to it (when you qualify?). After 2 years I was getting really fed up with it, although I did get used to spending less.
I think a lot comes down to your future plans and what savings you have and think you'll need...but if you can manage it, it will make life so much better

It's -1lb for me this week... I was really unwell at the start of the week so I have managed to cure myself of the munchies so, hopefully, that's me back on the straight and narrow....0

Well done to everyone who has lost or maintained a loss
Food Diary for today:
B: 2/3 piece of multigrain toast with crunchy peanut butter. (A treat)
3 strawberries.
L: Tuna sweetcorn mayo with sliced cucumber sandwich (Aldi multigrain bread) 1/2 pack crisps.Chicken, noodles, veg stir fry (spray oil)
S: Highlights Hot Chocolate (quite milky) with a Cocoa flavour Belvita Breakfast biscuit. 1/2 plum.
I have made an effort to drink more today, feel much better for it.
Tomorrow we are having friends (another couple and their little boy) over for a BBQ and bonfire. I've bought steaks for the grown ups. Figured healthier than burgers. Will avoid bread rolls. Will not drink. Will not have cheese or sugar filled relish/ sauce. Will have 1/2 steak with HM wedges done in Actifry or baked potato finished on BBQ and salad. Wholegrain French mustard and light mayo mix on side. Food diary for today:
B: Apple and blueberry porridge
S: small handful of almonds
L: Ham sandwich
S: Apple, and went a little nuts with crackers (I think 10)Pasta with veggie sauce (made with all fresh ingredients) topped with a bit of parmesan. 1 1/2 grated carrots for dessert with half a lemon squeezed over.
Going to make a big batch of scotch broth tomorrow, which will give me a few days respite from bread. It's my main remaining processed food item, and I need to reduce it further.0 -
Hi! Can I slip quietly in and join the thread pls? After years of lurking I joined the £10 a day challenge last month and the whole process of doing something publicly (albeit comfortably anonymous!) gave me such a kick up the backside! So I figured I'd try the same with weight loss!
I am not massively overweight and haven't really had any major problems before but the muffin top has been steadily overflowing since my third child and added to a chronic condition that now makes excercise a challenge I need to do something about it now!
I'm not sure what I need to do for the thread but I'd like to loose a stone as my target. Realistically it would be nice to be gone before summer-whenever that may be!!Feb £10 a day challenge: £728.50/£280
March £10 a day challenge: £79/£310March Grocery Challenge:£41.46/£7000
