Good idea to use the pic of your jeans as a screen saver ellie. Well done on the latest pair being comfortable
Oops, got to admit I was too lazy to take a photo of my own jeans, it's a picture I "stole" off t'internet
May go back to officeguru's idea of hanging the inspirational pair on the wardrobe...once things are less chaotic in my house (think DS2 moving out, but "forgetting" to take any of his stuff with him, stuff everywhere upstairs, I haven't been able to open my wardrobe for 2 weeks! hate being in a mess).
Must go, due for doctors appointment...5 minute appointment, 28 mile round trip to get there

Also what are your favourite diet friendly meal?
One of my favourite "diet" meals is an aldi chicken kiev, 130g of small potatoes cut into wedges and sprayed with that one-cal stuff, and 3 veg, comes in at 415 calories, and feels indulgent.
I do eat salads and stir fries, usually when DS1 isn't eating at home, but I'd get fed up if I did it all the time. I love chips, so have them maybe a couple of times a week, but buy low fat oven chips, so keep the calories under control.
Really, I eat a lot of the same foods as before, but am much more aware of what's high calorie. I bought some kitchen scales and it's really helped, weighing the more fattening things like cheese, chips, pasta, potatoes, so now I know what my portions should look like.
I want a "diet" that I can live with for ever, so didn't want to cut out my favourite foods (except chocolate)
Maybe you could just tweak what you already cook. (I thought I was being good at the weekend, having a veg and beansprout stir fry...until I went on to mfp and discovered the oil I'd used was more than twice the calories of the stir fry...slipped up there!)

I'm the same, and I agree totally that you have to have something that will work for the rest of your life. It's the only way to stick with the weight loss (if I denied myself all the ‘naughties’, all the time I'd soon give up, lol!), and keep it off once you get to your desired weight, otherwise you lose weight by dieting and then it all goes back on as soon as you go back to eating 'normally'. I've made that mistake too many times, and it's not going to happen again, as I've educated myself better this time, and intend to cut back if I put on even 1 pound once I get to where I want to be, rather than waiting until it's 3 stone, lol!savesummore wrote: »Erm................only me with a dirty mind then :rotfl:

Yes, just you, mind you I did see the other meaning once I read your message, lol! Well done on your early morning exercise, the only time I'm up at that time is when I'm working, and then all I want is a cup of coffee and my breakfast, lol!
Had a very good day yesterday, and ended up over 200 calories under my allowance because of the exercise I did. Today is going well so far, but going out to a quiz night at the pub tonight, so might have some crisps, but only if I have enough calories left.
B bran flakes with sultanas and semi skimmed milk
L 2 sweet onion ryvitas with low fat cheese
D HM lasagne
S banana and 1 shortbread biscuit (forced on me by a work mate, lol!)
E walked to work, then walked to my dad's instead of coming home for the car, walked to the shop to get a few bits for him, back to his flat, then walked home (according to my tracker, that all adds up to 302 calories)Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Me too! I cannot be bothered with counting calories or diaries. It has to fit in with my lifestyle. Dark choc is great for me, I can only eat so much.:)Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -

I work in a team with approx 15 women and have lost count of the number who are on a 'diet'.
Off the top of my head I know we have 3 doing slimming world, 1 on weight watchers, 1 on special k, 1 on juice plus shakes and 1 on juice plus tablets. All of these women pay a fortune trying to lose weight and all of them are unhappy. They all also binge whenever we have buffets, sweets or cakes in the office. And not one of them cooks from scratch!
I dont want to spend money on a 'diet' that tells me I cant eat something and end up stuffing my face whenever I get a craving for the so called banned food.
I'm much happier eating my normal food but reducing the quantity I eat in a sitting. I get to eat the pizza on a friday night and have a few drinks without the guilt trip, because I know that I will eat a sensible portion and not overindulge.
I'll get off my soap box now0 -

Yep, only you with the dirty mind savesummore :rotfl:
For years I got up at 6.30 for work, the best time of the day
Well done on doing the 30 day shred so early..."Exercise in the morning before your brain figures out what you're doing"I'm the same, and I agree totally that you have to have something that will work for the rest of your life. I'm exactly the same Sue14...funny how I think I've got it under control this time, even although I've lost and gained the same pounds several times before.
I think I've finally learnt that if I want to have normal meals I can't go back to snacking with biscuits or sweets...like you, I plan to take action if my weight goes up even a little bit. (I wonder if it'll be as easy as it sounds)
Was doing well today until SIL came to visit with a packet of 5, yes 5! custard doughnuts...she had 2 and I had one, well it would have been rude to refuseWill give the remaining ones to DS to get them out the house.
No walk today because the weather was atrocious...had trouble standing upright!

Thanks for the suggestions. Chicken Kiev on the shopping list
Where I work the 5:2 diet is the latest fad (or it was when I went off on mat leave) I'm not usually the one dieting tbh but need to be ruthless to kickstart losing the tummy after baby. Feel like once I get past the first few weeks (and pounds) I will have more motivation to keep going slowly.
So today:
7am- a plum
8:30 little walk and then mowed lawns, weeded til 9:40.
9:40 2 weetabix, milk, raisins
13:00 Lunch at a lovely cafe. My friend is vegan and the chef prepared a selection of vegan foods. Ate quite a bit but resisted wine and puds.
19:00 Sausage. Stir Fry veg (spray oil) with a bit of ham chopped in.
19:30 Pulled some now too big clothes out of wardrobe from just after birth and first half of pregnancy. Felt good2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013
