  • 0.8lb gain this week.

Not a total disaster in the grand scheme, but a little disappointing. I think a couple of weeks back I said I must move more. Well I really should.

Gwendolyn - Sorry to hear that, these sad times do pull one up a bit, but a little reflection time is never a bad thing.

Oh dear, I like to be good on a Thursday before Friday weigh in, but all my plans went wrong today!

    B: muesli, ss milk
L: one slice dry wholemeal toast (stomach was hurting)
D: 4 slices pizza, little tub of after eight dessert (very sickly)

Dinner was meant to be a stew and potatoes...I'm still an amateur with the slow cooker and don't really know what I'm doing yet. I put some beef and a big pile of veg in the cooker, making sure I cut the bits up smaller than I would if using a pot, with almost boiled water. It was on from 8am, and the veg was still pretty hard at 5.30pm.
So a last minute panic what to have..Ds suggested pizza and I didn't argue :o The potatoes were ready, so they're in the fridge.
Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Hi My slowcooker has 3 settings, high, low and warm and i find i have to leave it on the high setting for 6-8 hours to have things cooked through

STS for me this week- cant say im shocked as ive been very 'half hearted' this week :o

Think i need to refocus and maybe set myself little goals/challenges- i will have a think over the weekend

I feel dreadful today- sore throat/ blowing hot and cold/ banging head- i literally cannot wait to get home tonight and put my pjs on!

    Be good all x

Of course you can join in! Do you want to join in the challenge as well? If you include this weekend then there are 8 more weigh ins for it (I would need to know how much you think you can lose in that time)

ow yes please, so how does the challenge work please? what is the time scale you are asking for my weight loss in? xx

I need your goal for the next 7 weeks please (ie if you think you can lose 4lb in the next 7 weeks then that would be your challenge goal, if you think you can lose 10 then set that as your goal - up to you provided it is not outside the realms of sensible weight loss!)
    Must use my stash up!

Maybe that's where I went wrong...my cooker has 3 settings, high, low and auto...and I put it on auto, just assuming that would be suitable. I can't find the instruction book to find out what auto means.
Next time I'll do it on high (and maybe cook the veg a bit first, although that seems to negate the benefits of a slow cooker?)

Hope you can have a relaxing weekend, and feel better soon.

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Great thanks, please put me down for 16lbs please, as it's my 1st week and I've had very little carbs I'm hoping to lose about 4lb then hopefully 2lb a week after that thank you x

I never cook my veg before hand. I have it on low setting for 8hrs. I would try a high heat but don't cook the veg 1st:)

Well done to everyone who has lost and STS, we're all doing brilliantly.
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!
