Just a quick visit to catch up with everybody’s news. A bit like some others I’m struggling this week; early on in the week there was anger and frustration then had some really sad news about a friend who very suddenly collapsed and died, she was only 57, not much older than me, and always appeared to be very active and healthy. I always find something like this kind of puts everything else into perspective.
Think it must have been playing on my mind as I was very restless and couldn’t sleep last night; woke after just a few hours with food on my mind. Because I don’t keep any biscuits/cakes in the tins at the moment and everything else is frozen it was a toss-up between a chunk of cheese or a frozen banana, so around 1am I had a banana ice-lolly – who knew how delicious they could be and not naughty at all :T. The rest of the day’s menu is as follows
B – Porridge with drizzle of honey.
L – L/O Crunchy Salad, Prawns & Seafood Sauce.
D – Roast Chicken, Brussels, Carrots, Cabbage.
Snack = Orange & Grapefruit SegmentsJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

How did it get to be Monday again already?! grr! I wasn't prepared for my alarm this morning, managed to switch it off and sleep for another 45 minutesDoes mean that I didn't have time to make lunch, and my menu for today is looking a little sparse!

Good Morning everyone and hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was such a lovely day in Glasgow yesterday. Can't wait until this foot is finally better so I can get back to going for long walks on Sundays. Going to take Rosetta's advice (Thank you!) and go back to the gym this week and just focus on upper body - better than nothing I suppose.
I am pleased to report a 2lb loss so 8lbs in total now! Not so sure how real it is but hopefully it will stay off.
Plan for today
B: Cereal bar
L: cheese, tomato and spinach wrap, yogurt, fruitVegetable curry with boiled rice and a pitta
Snacks: Will try to stick to fruit!
Congrats to all the losers this week and have a great weekxxx

Rosetta thank you. It was a non-religious service which although unusual I found quite moving in fact. My lovely little Aunt would have approved her childrens' choice.
I feel I was a bit naughty yesterday but looking at it, it doesn't look too bad. I have to try to stop missing meals though, particularly breakfast.
B - egg on slice of toasted Danish
D - turkey & veg casserole, sf jelly
T - F&F, ss milk. Getting used to the 30g now, especially when eaten with a teaspoon!
Snacks - melon, apple, grapes, satsuma
Exercise 1/2 hour pulm. Just going to start baking so will have to tie my hands behind my back when I take the scones/cookies/fruit loaf out of the oven
Enjoy the rest of the day0 -
Hello Everyone - please may I come on in for a while? I'm a 63 yr old overweight and hating it person! In fact because I'm tall it doesn't look as horrendous as it might - I'm 5'8" and weigh 14st. 9lbs. I was told ages ago that I should aim at losing 3 stone....but actually although I did lose about 10lbs last year, it's all back on again now! I take comfort that anyone my age finds weight loss difficult...but actually I know that I find it difficult because I love eating far too much, have portions which are far too big and just don't use sufficient will-power! Thought if I 'fessed up from the start I'd have to do something about about and recognise that it's only my fault, not my age or anything else!
I'm hoping to tackle it through portion control and exercise as I don't want to start eating differently to DH. We usually cook from scratch so no fancy fads
Anyway, hope you don't mind me joining in on here.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
i dare not even contemplate weighing myself
i feel like a big fat pig and i have noone to blame but myself.
i have even avoided the thread as a denial tactic.
it has to stop here

OK, I'm back, 10 days of 'controlled' bingeing later and I'm scared to get on the scales! What is a girl to do when there are birthdays and valentines and anniversaries and being catered for and having kids who want to go to McDonalds because "you know we only get to go there when it's holidays". Nightmare! Good fun but... it'd be rude not to have a slice of my own birthday cake or to refuse to eat things specially cooked because they're 'my' favourite.
Will cross fingers that I'm STS when I weigh in on Friday but I'm not overly hopeful.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
