  • I've lost a little under 5lbs this week! It's nice, but in context, that's me just back to my November weight... Hoping I can now keep up similar losses for the older fat...

Had a bit of a stressful week at work, must resist coming home and bingeing because "it's the end of a hard week, and I deserve a treat". Might pick up some grapes, it'll be a healthy thing to binge on if nothing else.
  • -3lb this week

Clothes starting to feel looser and I don't feel bloated :)
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

On the scales first thing, before tea and after bathroom visit, am 81.9 Kg, that seems a lot of weight to have lost since last week, did not really try hard, but am not complaining!

I think last week I was 83.6 Kg so the loss is 1.7 Kg!!!

On conversion scales I just discovered I am now under 13 St again, at 12st 12.5 lbs, I am really happy.

Definitely back to pre-Christmas, pre-troubles weight, now it is the case of taking down a couple more Kgs, then I shall be at target for this challenge!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Well done everyone for the losses and STSs so far today!

I was thinking about what happens if you don't lose any weight. The ultimate goal for all of us is to reach the desired weight and then stay the same, so if we have a weight loss week where we dont lose anything at all, what we are doing is a little practice for when we reach the final goal, aren't we? :T

Anyway, I really thought I'd be posting a gain today - I have not been being very careful about food at all - but much to my surprise I've lost 1lb. I think it's really helping to have got started with the walking. I need to do another 4250+ steps today and I'll have reached my goal for this week.

  • 0.4lb loss for me this week please.

I have lost 1lb yay!!!! That's 3 lbs since the start of this challenge. I definitely think it is the no crisps and probably the no drinking that has done it! Although I am going to be drinking this weekend coming for a friend's birthday, but I will remain off the crisps. Yay!

  • Could I please join in with you all?

My current weight is 13st 4.6lb and I am very unfit.

I have considered trying many of the different types of diets out there but there is so much disagreement about what works if anything.

I know that eating less, eating more healthily and moving more works for most people so I'm going to try that and lose the weight slowly.

My target weight is about 9 stone - maybe more. When my weight was last stable I was around 8 stone, but that was so many years ago. I don't think that would suit me now.

As I have over 4 stone to lose it will take me some time. I will make small changes and lose small amounts to start as if it's too hard I will just give up.

My aim is to cook from scratch, eat very few processed foods (eg crispbread and some cheese) and cut down on the meat I eat. I don't like pasta so I find many vegetarian recipes are out - although I could just use the sauces I suppose.
I will drink more water - I have cut out the caffeine after 4pm so that will go back to lunchtime now.

I am going to start a (personal) walking programme today.
Because of my commitments during the day I have to walk in the evenings so it is dark. It means I cannot walk around some of the prettier places yet - they are also waterlogged now. I am looking forward to the days getting longer so that I can enjoy the scenery as I walk.

I will also be doing some core strength exercises and when I can at least do the basics I will go back to Pilates. I would also love to try Zumba but I'm not fit enough to last for 5 minutes.
That can be my aim for April - to be fit enough to join a Zumba Class.

I hope to lose about a pound a week.

    You are all so inspiring.
Aiming to get healthy in 2014.

a loss of 0.5lbs bit annoyed as I know I have done better but it's getting to that time of the month and I am retaining water and have serious bloating. Oh well even though my body is rebelling at least next week will be a better number. I must try harder on the exercise front though been doing more housework during the week rather than doing it all in one day to help spread the calorie burn throughout the week. My goals for this week is to take the stairs more at work it's so easy to take the lift and a hard habit for me to break and to up the dogs weekend walks to a min of 2hrs rather than the usual 1hr I think he will enjoy this more than me to start off with. He wasn't that enthusiastic about his morning walks at 6am to start off with so swings and roundabouts.
That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

  • -0.5 here too. Disappointed, but looking back over the week's food I'm not surprised. I really need to up my game if I am to stand any chance of reaching my goal. I cant afford any more little losses.
