Just had a shockingly bad day. I don't seem to have the discipline to be in a social group where food is part of the experience and not eat too much. Today held two challenges, a gorgeous buffet lunch and a curry out for tea. I failed both and having done that had a bit of Christmas cake when I got home. Has anyone found a good way of handling situations like this? I am really bad at it.0

Valerie I think it depends on -why- you do it. Is it peer pressure, too much easy temptation, social awkwardness, getting over hungry while waiting, wanting value for money?Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Is 30 Day Shred good?
I have a feeling I've got that in the back of the cupboard somewhere. I'm pretty sure I bought it, watched it and never did it!:(
It's good, the first episode is on Y0uTube if you want to try it. It's not massively space consuming, but you do need enough space to lie down. I don't have that much space, or I'd be inclined to buy the DVD.0 -

Perhaps it depends how often you go out to eat?
If it's only occasionally you can have a day off the diet, but if it's every week you might need to choose more carefully.
I've done both...sometimes forget I'm dieting and have whatever I want, but more often nowadays just use willpower to leave some on my plate. I think a buffet's easier, you can pick once then keep away from the table
It's difficult, isn't it, because we still want to enjoy ourselves.

Hi kezlou, I wouldn't normally comment on someone's menu, because we all do different things, but you've got no proper food there! I'd imagine it would be very difficult to keep up, I think you'll get very hungry
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Are you doing 5:2 kezlou or another vlc diet?Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Thanks Flamingo747. It is a really good question. I think it is mainly easy availability and a bit of social awkwardness that lead me to overeat. I think as well as that there is an element of there being nothing healthy available so I just forget the diet all together.
Ellie99. Well done for finding a coping strategy. I need to do that too as otherwise I will sabotage all my effort. I have things on every weekend in January and I must find a way of enjoying them without overheating. Walking away from the buffet is a top tip, thanks.0 -
