peony 40 I never learned to swim until I was in my late 50s.Its well worth it as its such a great way to exercise., and my grandchildren love it that Granny can splash around in the pool with them. Before I had my mastecotmy in 2007 I had got my speeds up to 20 lengths in 20 minutes, but now as I have one arm that doesn't work quite so well and I'm a bit lop-sided
:) and a good deal older I have slowed down and swim a lot more genteelly
:) rather than the 'ploughing through the water' style I had then

great for mobility and your never too old to learn a new skill0 -

Hi all
Ive done day 2 of 30 day shredI enjoyed it more tonight- think it was nice to blow away the cobwebs after sitting at my desk all day!
I find this time of night really hard re snacks so either try to 'save' cals to have something like a low fat yogurt or I drink a cup of earl grey tea! I choose Earl Grey as I love the strong flavour plus it doesnt lend itself well to biscuits etc
Ive read that if you find that you are craving snacks you should check your not eating too much sugar/carbs as these can spike your insulin and make you crave more

Why do you want your meal over with? Have you thought of sitting at a table, and making it more of an occasion?
Golly, I probably phrased that wrong. Eating and cooking is a real enjoyment for me and I always sit at a table. Making the table look inviting and pretty is important to me. I never ever eat with tray on lap and I know when I am with friends and family I eat much slower than them. I think because at the moment I am focusing so much on food restriction etc I want to hurry it and focus on something else if that makes sense0 -
managed to stop myself having sweets out of the gorgeous sweet hamper brought into work today - that was soooo hard for me as I have a really sweet tooth!!
Other than that,
B - go ahead bar
L - ryvita thins x 3, garlic phili, lf yogurt
D - chicken tikka with LOADS of veggies and brown rice (I assume this will be an acquired taste)
S- banana, one VERY tart plum (couldn't face any more) and a cup of doche gusto latte
So - under my MFP target (just)Sealed Pot no 20110 -
Hi everyone,
I've done my first proper day and it was hard! I resisted croissants, chocs, and birthday cake at work.
B- porridge
L- carrot and ginger soup, and an apple
D- lentil and veg stew
E- 7100steps (although the pedometer was in my coat pocket for part of the day!)
I'm hoping to have a few days like this to kick start some weight loss so I feel more motivated. I really felt horrible and bloated back in work clothes so I am quite determined right now.
Last year I lost 3 stone in the first part of the year but put back a stone and a half by the end of the year, so I'm going to try to lose it and keep it off this year!! (Easier said than done I know)0 -
First day back at my own place, and it's been quite successful. I had a big stock up shop, and my fridge is loaded with veg etc. One good thing about having eaten so much over Christmas is that my work trousers feel really tight, which means I feel full really quickly today. Every cloud eh?
Today I had porridge for brekkie, soup and a roll for lunch with an apple, dinner was a mince baked potato. Had about 10 haribo left over from Christmas, which made a good dessert.0 -
B the usual muesli and Greek yogurt
L HM broccoli and Stilton soup with piece of bread, orange
D Shepherds pie with steamed veg and a small portion of bread and butter pudding
Snacks. Just some pineapple cos of the B and B pudding.
Exercise walked outdoors for about an hour.
Sounds like everyone is doing well.0
