Oh dear lunch with family was a bit :o though I swapped lasagne for scampi and j20 for tap water, and didnt eat ds's leftover pudding. Normally this sort of big meal would lead to "I've ruined it anyway so may as well eat whatever I want and start again tomorrow". But I won't do that today, I can be stronger. It'll be a small dinner (if any).

    Hope you're all well!

Hi all and welcome newcomers

Well I started the 30 day shred again today and
For those who dont know what it is its a DVD by Jillian Micheals (biggest looser lady) and there are 3 levels of work out (each work out approx 25mins). You do level 1 for 10 days then level 2 for 10 days then finally level 3 for 10 days, each level getting harder

I have done the 30 day shred before and got to a stage where I found even level 3 do-able comfortably but fliipin heck level 1 nearly finished me off today :o im currently sooooooo unfit :o. Anyway at least ive started so things can only get easier..........hopefully :rotfl:

    Today:

B: 1 sausage, 2 bacon rashers all grilled, 1/2 tin of beans, 2 poched eggs, 2 white toast with buuter
L: None due to size of breakfast!
    S: 2 x satsumas & lf greek yog
T: Roast Pork dinner with roasted carrot & potatos, cabbage & gravy(MUST stay away from the crackling )

May end up having supper later but will try and choose something heathly

    Be good all :)

  • Eek..after posting what I ate yesterday I stumbled across a mince pie and ate it. Thankfully it was the last one so at least I can't do it again. Had a posh latte in town today which was a bit naughty, but didn't need any lunch as it filled a hole so not too bad

B Wholemeal roll with 2 rashers of grilled bacon
L Latte with amaretto flavoured syrup
T Chicken cooking in oven at the moment, will have some with lots of veg and small amount of mashed potato and gravy

If I need a snack later will try to stick to fruit or yogurt
  • Am I the only one who doesn't have the coordination/rhythm for exercise routines? I am rubbish. I've heard good stuff about 30 day shred though :)

Thanks for the info on basmati rice.

Flamingo, I have hopeless coordination plus I confuse left and right. In the days of 80's aerobics it used to be embarrassing as once I waved the wrong arm in the air and nearly whacked the girl alongside me. Also, in the days of the stepper i always used to trip up the thing!

I have the 30 day shred and survived for less than 2 minutes, they have been gathering dust.

For me I am going to start with yoga moves as i think it will suit me more having fibro.

Had porridge for breakfast, homemade sweet potato and carrot soup for lunch and will have leftover curried mince with a couple of small roast pots for dinner.

    Peony x

Eta - thanks for the tips on using smaller plates. I have some dinner plates from the early 90s which are smaller. I'll use these moving forward. Jackie, i am looking forward to wearing pretty, feminine summer clothes this year rather than jeans with a long top.

    Hi

You dont need much co-ordination for the 30 day shred hence i do it :rotfl:

I know everyone different/ like different things but i really like this DVD as the workouts are short and the moves constantly change throughout the 25 minutes! Saves me from getting bored :)

  • Sounds good :) I have a toddler who likes to cling to me if he thinks I'm doing something interesting so it's hard to do anything much. I mostly end up walking and buggy pushing!

the only downer on the day is that I ate three chocolates later in the evening, and though that's a vast improvement on previous days, I really want to cut out stuff like that as I always find it hard to stop at just one

I'm the same, we have a box of roses and some after eights to eat, and we are safe until they are opened, but after that we will have to be really disciplined to not eat them all at once, lol!

Confession - I've just eaten 2 pieces of shortbread from a tin that opened itself and shoved itself under my nose

Love it, lol! We were really good with shortbread this year (I could live on it, lol), we only bought a small box and only had 2 pieces each per day until it was all gone, usually we would just keep eating until it was gone or we felt too sick to eat any more, lol!
Peony I have started using a side plate instead of a dinner plate, it looks like you're eating loads then and helps portion control :)

OH and I have used smaller plates for a while now (not side plates, but smaller than a dinner plate), and it is amazing how much less you can have without feeling deprived.

Yesterday I started off really well, but when we went to MIL's in the evening it all went to hell in a hand-basket, and I ended up going over my allowance by about 600 calories! Today hasn't been brilliant so far, but hopefully I will stay below my limit.

OMG:eek: this has been me today!! I have eaten 8 pieces. Our family is in turmoil at the moment with a stressful situation, so I ate the last of the shortbread. I did intend to start tomorrow, I WILL start as planned. Went shopping and bought loads of that brightly coloured stuff.......whats it called again?? Ah yes fruit and veg:rotfl:
