Erm that's about it! Most people check in sometime from Friday morning to Sunday night (sorry I haven't been around as much this weekend!) and given me their losses (or gains)
Must use my stash up!0 -
Hi minicooper and chocolatepennyfarthing
a chocolate user name on the dieting thread...I'm going to be tempted every time you post :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I can feel my goal slipping away from me...I haven't been terrible over the weekend, but I haven't been very good either...it just hasn't seemed quite as important as before, definitely losing focus a bit.
Not sure if this counts as good or bad...I had a Chinese takeaway last night, I haven't had one for a very long time...and I didn't like it, it was so sickly that I only ate half, and it's not often something is so bad that I feel I can't eat it!
So the good thing is it's put me off having one again...now if only someone would sell me a really horrible takeaway pizza...:rotfl:

I've not been off to a bad start. I made a hearty soup for lunches this week, and made up a Rogan Josh curry for dinners (I make the sauce using pataks pastes so easy to keep the oil/fat content down). I went food shopping and took a nice healthy list with me, and happily resisted the sweets/crisps.
I do still have a few Halloween bits in the house - we had a lot fewer guisers this year, so had a lot of sweets left over, my housemates have helped me out with most of them, but I'm now just limiting myself to a few small pieces a day as snacks.0 -
I did *everything* wrong yesterday, went totally off the rails...why do I decide to self-sabotage every so often?
I thought going back to work would be a good thing (and it is!) but it's interrupting my self control and meal planning, and I've not been going for my daily walk...I still have time to do it, I'm just scared walking too much will hurt my back again.
I have great admiration for all of you who are working and managing to lose weight as well
I'm too scared to stand on the scales...
So starting again today!...do you know it's only 46 days until the end of this challenge? Surely I can manage 46 days?

Very quiet on here lately...I hope that means you're all out exercising and walking and running :rotfl:
I have a battle going on in my head every day...
the wannabe slim girl versus the inner fatty who wants to eat...
it's getting so much more difficult to keep going.
Today the slim girl has come out on top, mainly because I have nothing yummy in the house, just "proper" food.
I've been trying to lose the weight for 10 months now, and am only half way there, I've been doing it too long to give up.
Even if I falter through the winter, I WILL keep trying next year...those jeans don't fit yet

I sympathise whole-heartedly. I think the answer for me will be to get into a good habit with exercise, as I do still want to eat rubbish every now and again (though a little less often than just now would be good).0 -

:hello: Hello to all the newbies! Hope you reach your targets.
ellie99 - is there anything that you really, really like which is good for you? I'm just thinking that maybe you're falling into the trap that I do, that only the wrong food is tasty, and healthy food isn't. I'm trying to not buy the biscuits that I like, so I won't be tempted, and buying low cal lemon mousses and yogurts instead. Also the pink and white marshmallow 'biscuits' are ok as they're only a few calories each. I'm also trying to cut the saturated fat out of my food, so I'm reading labels like they're going out of fashion! By the way, you've lost twice as much as me on this challenge so far, so you must be doing something right!

Mmm, that is a very good question which deserves some thought...
I do like "normal" food, there are lots of meals I enjoy, but when you're feeling peckish in the evening you don't cook another meal, do you? It's what to have for a snack...and I still have the bad habit of thinking of snacks as things like chocolate or a cake...I'm not quite at the stage of snacking on a carrot stick yet
Trying to stick to around 1200 calories doesn't leave much leeway for snacks anyway, which is why I try to do without them...but every 3 months or so I give in to the chocolate craving, I suppose that's better than every week
I know the problem's in my head rather than my stomach...like when I think having a takeaway is a treat and then not enjoying it...it's the old outdated ideas I need to get rid of.
I'm definitely going to have a think about what I really enjoy eating, thank you.
