You're just being human daisie, I bet most of us on here have done something similar. There was an article in the Daily Mail a few days ago about binge eaters who don't purge, ie not bulimics, I'll see if I can find a link online. A lot of it really rang bells for me.

Pollybear - thanks for the article I found it really interesting. W

Weigh in today and at the start of the week I had piled on more so was actually 2lbs over my start weight for the challenge  - however I have lost 3lbs which puts me back down to an overall -1lb which I am pleased with other my birthday blip week :D

    Good luck all

I'm not going to report my weight today, after the chocolate blip yesterday...I'm calling it a blip because I'm doing my best to make sure it's a one off :)

I'll stick with whatever is on the scales tomorrow.

I'm another one who eats junk food when I'm stressed or down, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I've an eating disorder like the article was discussing. I can mostly keep it under control, and I think a lot of it is taught behaviour (ie parents giving food as a treat or comfort). The clincher for me is that when life goes *really* wrong, I can't eat and I don't binge.
So I only have myself to blame when I overeat :)

(I'm not for one minute doubting other peoples experiences, I'm only talking about myself here)

I think my problem at the moment is I don't feel any sense of urgency. When I was working towards the wedding I felt much more motivated. Now, I just can't get past the feeling of 'oh well, there is always next week'.

I know exactly what you mean daisiegg, and in fact i think i remember you from the wedding diet thread!! I was August 2012?! I seem to find myself reminising about the wedding diet thread days and how easily i seemed to lose a stone etc. and I wonder why it is not so easy now.

I think having a target is definately part of it! For me part of it is that I went off crisps for lent, so didn't eat any at all. That really is a huge issue for me! The other is that I lived alone before my wedding, therefore I was in much more control of my eating. I find it is so easy to get sucked into "let's have a movie night" (ie with crisps, sweets and popcorn!) or "oooo let's sit in on Friday night and drink wine!" I hardly ever drank wine before I got married!! Now I'm drinking it every weekend, and this week midweek because we were celebrating!!

However I am really happy and content and am starting to wonder if that extra stone of weight is the price you pay for happiness and contentment?!

-1lb this week. I don't know why because I haven't done anything different but it's all good ;)

Haven't caught up yet but well done to everybody. It's the keeping going that counts, not how well or badly one day or one week goes.

Can I come back please :o
I finally plucked up courage to wi this morning andv2lb more than at the beginning of this challenge :(:(
What the hell is wrong with me  I am so mad, I am 2 stone heavier than I was 4 years ago and it's making me miserable.

So.... The plan is to have a full month of no alcohol (red wine is one of my biggest problem areas, I'm sure) I also need to seriously limit sugar, although I don't have a massive amount of this. And I aim to limit bread to 2 slices of Burgen a day

Sorry to have let you all down :o

  • Hi All!

I used to be part of this challenge earlier in the year, and unfortunately I need to come back! Well it's not so unfortunate, as I get to see all your lovely posts again, but you get what I mean!

You know how it is, I decided I was going to take a break and just eat sensibly, then you have a day or two off being sensible and the waistline just expands. And keeps going.

I was doing really well, I had a gym I really liked and my diet had adjusted to compensate for exercise. My gym closed down, and I just couldn't get into a routine with the new one, but continued to eat like I was exercising. It hit at a time I was starting to suffer a bit of mild depression too, so I had a lot of the old comfort food too.

I want to start a new job in the new year, and I am determined that my clothes will feel comfortable again before then. I don't want to be turning up on my first day with all my clothes pulling at the seams. I need to lose at least 7lbs by Christmas I think (if I can lose more then even better because I will no doubt eat them back over 2 days!)

Not too pleased to report a STS...was doing well until Thursday!

I've been batch cooking winter comfort food for the freezer, and we've had stew the last 2 nights...not too bad, especially as I take mostly the veg, but I always put puff pastry on top :o...I love puff pastry!

Christmas is getting closer...must try harder, must try harder...

Back after a week in France and Belgium, walking almost every day looking around the Dunkirk beaches etc. I went on the wii this morning and I have lost half a pound. At least I haven't gained ;) I did keep off the Belgian chocs though, so that must have helped. It's so hard to keep on track.
I have to see the dietician on Monday as my total cholesterol is too high, although my HDLs and triglycerides aren't too bad, so we'll see what comes of that.
Vixtress - don't see it as letting anyone down. We all have times when it's just really hard to shift the weight, and we all struggle whether it's stones or pounds we need to lose. The main thing is that we all know we need to do it, and there are great people here who will be there with you every step of the way, so don't give up :)
