Had a good week and a fair weekend. Being 'mindful' about what I'm eating feels right and will be the way I want to eat from now on.
I had two big dramas to deal with last week and it was interesting to notice how my reaction to each was to think about food. Instead of giving in I just noticed it and let it go telling myself that food wouldn't actually solve any crisis and wouldn't make me feel better in the long run.
I've added daily exercise to my life-style changes and just climbed 10 floors at work - ouch!
Hugs to those that need 'em.0 -

sparrer...we can still see it even when you make it really small :rotfl:
Back to eating right today...I'm a bit annoyed, as even though I ate too much last weekend I didn't go over what my maintenance calories would be, so why am I 2 lbs heavier? (and why did I step on the scales???)
Had an unexpected low calorie tea tonight...made sweet and sour chicken, and had been shopping at a!di and bought for the first time a packet of microwavable egg fried rice...it was vile, so bad I even wondered if it was off...and of course I'd poured my sauce all over it, so I just picked off the chicken and veg. Then, for the first time ever in my long life, I managed to mess up making an angel delight, how is that even possible? But of course I still ate that, you can't waste dessert
I've told DS he can cook tomorrow :rotfl:

Arghh since weighing myself on Saturday morning I have lost the plot again. Yesterday DH and I attended an underground restaurant event (in a private home), I drank half a bottle of wine and 3 helpings of cake. The rest of the meal fitted the low carb profile so am not stressing about it. The meal was delicious and we had a great time but today I was back at 82.9 Kg. how could I have put on over a Kg in less than 2 days?
Today I also did not eat too wisely. Not massive amounts but some were unwise choices.
It went like this:
Brunch: beans and poached egg on sourdough toast
Snack: cheese, almonds and olives
Dinner at DD's: polenta with tomato sauce and blue cheese, mixed salad, a few mint chocolates
The bold ones are the less wise choices. Polenta is ok really, it is what DD made for dinner and it was delicious and not a large portion, but I could have avoided the chocolates!
Will try to make up for it tomorrow and plan for wise choices during my journey.
Good night all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning Folks,
Its Official…… I am well and truly knackered, bushed, exhausted or any other word you can think of. Not only have I finished the essential painting, the bedroom and stair carpet + underlay are lifted and safely re-homed to the recycling dump. Bedroom and some lounge furniture moved to the spare room, which I am also sleeping in…..just…….. I have a little track in amongst the clutter to allow me to get to the bed, which is getting rather crowded with 6 pillows and two duvets :rotfl:.
I had thought to have a relaxing day today with just the last minute tidying and cleaning before the carpets get laid tomorrow :j ….. But not to be,my brothers car is still poorly and he asked if I would take it to the garage this morning – so another early start and a four mile uphill walk back home.
Healthy eating has gone out the window as well and any carbs I can put my hands on have been devoured with gusto – when I’m so tired I have a tendency to indulge in easy cooked meals and comfort food – yesterday I had a craving for Stovies – so of course I had to indulge and there is a substantial portion leftover to have tonight.
I promise I will be more organised and get more healthy meals planned by the end of the week.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £16.930 -
Thanks everyone for the good wishes on our anniversary. Really enjoyed the weekend although I think I might have celebrated a little too much.
I've felt a bit stressed this last few weeks as I'm being made redundant from my part time job at the end of the week. I'm going to retire now so not really too bothered about not having a job, but the time between finding out about it and it actually happening has been more difficult than I expected. I shall be glad when its over.
Today it was yogurt with raisins and honey for breakfast, not sure yet about lunch but dinner will be roast chicken with loads of veg.
Hope everyone is having a sunny day0 -
Forgot to say sparer and Caterina hope you both have a good holiday0

D - pasta with veg/tomato topping. melon
T - 2 slices WW granary spread with yogurt, turkey slices
S - grapes, carrot batons
E 2x10 mins done, leaves swept, car serviced - oil, water, tyres, ws washer. Ironing to do this afternoon
Have a good rest of the day0 -

Spending time with your grandchildren and having your own little traditions is much more important than eating lettuce every day
