Thank you all!
Sparrer I am off on Wednesday and will be sailing across the Tirrenian sea on Thursday night. Wave at me in a North-East direction, and enjoy Malta!
Knitwitch it is so good to see your smilies graph, I am half way to my goal, hopefully this will keep me in check while away.
lynsayjane I am going to stay clear of Prosecco (sadly but necessarily) as even a glass of wine weakens my resolve, but I shall enjoy lots of lovely fresh vegetables instead, the ones that I cannot find in the UK (cicoria selvatica, broccoletti etc...) as well as many varieties of olives and Italian cheeses, so no deprivation there!
Today food is partly a question mark, DH and I are going to a pop up restaurant in a secret location, where before eating we attend a workshop on picking and preserving food. So, no idea of what dinner will be, other than mine is vegetarian and no doubt it will contain pickles of some sort!
The plan looks like this:
B. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
L. Vegetable soup, salad, blue cheese
D. Mystery dinner
Have a good day and batten down the hatches this evening in preparation for the predicted storm! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I only want to lose maybe half a stone altogether now, which will put me just into the top of the "normal" range of BMI instead of the overweight where I am now. But as I started out with morbidly obese, overweight feels good to me!
Pollybear wow that's some achievement! Well done :Tso I can declare a loss of 2lbs for this week, which takes me down to single figures, 9st 13lbs!
9st 13lbs...oooh I'm so jealouscheeswright wrote: »scratches head and wonders "if I loose the same pound 50 times is it easier of harder than loosing 50 in a row..?"
cheeswright, I've lost the same 50 pounds twice before, plus other smaller amounts...this is the LAST time, ever!
Why would I lose 50 lbs and then put every single one of them back on? It's taken me a long time to learn
Just catching up on all the posts, some very good losses this week :T
I have tried to eat well this weekend, but was away more than expected and didn't have much food with me, so had cereal bars and fruit a lot. Was so hungry tonight I gave in (as I usually do) to the pizza and chips craving. On the plus side, although I considered it, I did NOT buy chocolate when I stopped for petrol.
I will not be standing on the scales tomorrow

Thank you for the nice thoughts, but the sad thing is I have lost lots of weight (not quite this much but still lots) twice before and I'm hoping it's third time lucky. At 61 I can't keep doing this so it feels like my last chance. It's taken me almost three years to get to this point.0

I feel exactly the same Pollybear, like I can't keep letting my weight go up and down, and this is my last chance to lose it. I want to make the rest of my life easer by being the correct weight.
But don't belittle what you've achieved, even the fact you've kept going for 3 years is something to be proud of. Don't hope it's third time lucky, be determined it's third time lucky! (And it's not even luck, it's determination and stubborn-ness to get what you want)
Over the years I think I've lost more than my whole body weight whilst dieting...how crazy is that?

Hi all
Havent had enough tme to read back, but hope all are well.
Ive managed to get back to 10 st 7, so Ive taken off 3 lbs of what I put on during my holiday. Haven't been very good this weekend, however, so need to behave through the week! Overall therefore I am now -1lb from my starting weight!
All meals have been healthy, its the snacks of an evening instead of the ciggies that Im finding very hard to deal with..... However, have got my cross stitch out today so hopefully that will help....

Hello everyone.
I haven't weighed in this week as I think I have been becoming a bit too obsessed with with the scales and not seeing any positive changes. So I thought I would maybe leave it a week or two before touching them again. I am focusing now on just taking things one day at a time.
After a major crisp blow out on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week, I had my best weekend for food and drink since this challenge started. I only had 3 glasses of wine on Friday night and none on Saturday. Also, OH and I had proper dinners rather than big takeaway meals. So I am hoping a slightly more positive weekend will mean some loss this week, as I generally don't find Monday to Thursday as difficult to manage food wise.
Exercising is going well, having met my target for 3 gym classes a week for the last 2 weeks. Aiming for 3/4 this week again. Just need to watch the crisp blow outs!!
I think though I know what I have to do...I think I need good amounts of sleep and to not allow myself to get too hungry between lunch and dinner, as this seems to be my vulnerable time for stopping off at the shop for a fix! Wednesday blow out occurred after a long day at work and I was returning from a school I was working in at about 3.30pm and it just felt like coke and crisps would make everything better!! Must think about mind over matter!
Congrats to everyone on your losses!Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):
My savings: £4878.54/£7000
Joint account savings: £2685.57/£3000
Total:£7564.11/£10 000 (as at 26/10/14)0 -
Morning all,
Hope you all had a nice low fat weekendCan't believe as a group we lost over 6st last week, that's amazing! Well done everyone.
Diet at the housewarming wasn't as terrible as it could have been, mostly because I kept tidying and didn't stop to eat so had lots of booze and little food. Guess it's better than lots of both haha Luckily the hangover munchies didn't attack yesterday and I managed with a bagel for breakfast and leftover stovies for tea.
Gym membership starts up again at the end of the week so will aim to get back into the swing of it next week. Will make a point of going swimming or something at the weekend and aim for three visits a week.
Meals today;
B - half a bagel with lactofree soft cheese (dropped half on way out the door grrr)
L - chickpea, spinich and lentil soup with salad bowl
T - probably some form of leftovers
S - heinz tomato soup sachet (mid morning to make up for mini brekkie), low cal crisps
E - probably not a lot, was late for work so passed the stairs by!
Have a good day all
LJ
