Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

Well done Careful! I think deliberately not looking is key to a successful declutter sometimes. I wish I'd done that when I found a suitcase full of all sorts. Instead, I spent ages sorting it into desk, craft etc etc when actually if I'd just chucked the contents I wouldn't have been any the wiser (plus would have saved myself some time and further sorting!)

Hello Carefulwiththataxe (love the user name)...and CH27, I love shredding! I can never understand though, how shredded paper is masses more than non shredded paper!
I've packed a box for Zapper (thanks to whoever mentioned them!), with 19 items (books and cd/dvd's) really pleased as I haven't been able to sell them any other way. Not a huge amount, but around £12.
so, 19 items plus 1 item picked up after selling on FB, plus a bunch of old jewellery for Alzheimer's society, will post tomorrow. Total today 21.

mmmh, they could donate to the Alzeimer's Society. :A0 -
I love the resources you have all come up with like the Alzeimers Society stuff. Would never have know about that otherwise.
This week my plan is to go through "upstairs" and pack items into use/charity/ebay/friends piles/boxes and then gradually deal with them.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

A bag full of children's books for my nephew.
12 more CDs.
Sundry bits of kiddy tat whisked away while they aren't looking.0 -
Well a non-decluttering day here today. My landlord called and had a builder come up to sort the roof so fingers crossed the damp in the bathroom shall be banished from now on! Then she popped in to speak about a few things so ended up not having a chance to do anything except empty the bathroom bin. Oh well, always tomorrow
Well done everyone so far and hello to newcomersCredit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

I have a free day tomorrow and plan to continue shredding, chucking and donating. This is a great motivational thread!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Had to do an unexpected tidy up of wardrobe floor and carpet after a disintegrated plastic bag made a bid for freedom:mad:, so not much chucking for me today.
6. Bag of rubbish from said bedroom.
7. 3 boxes from wii controllers into recycling box.
Brings my total to 7/100, but disheartened to be honest. As have been on the go since 8 this morning, been to work at both my jobs, run around after the kids, gutted the bedroom floor and wardrobe and now have the most crippling back ache and have only flung 2 things don't know whether to:rotfl: or .:j DEBT FREE FROM 01/01/11 :j
