  • I'm also having quite a good week :)

Yesterday I decided to declutter my chest of drawers and my wardrobe. 2 bin bags later all my T-shirts are folded neatly and I have half a large drawer spare. The wardrobe is looking much tidier, I've organised it with trousers, tops, cardigans all grouped accordingly. I also got rid of 18 coat hangers????.......do they breed in the wardrobe

I polished the living room, cleaned the window and moved furniture to make room for the christmas tree at the weekend :D. I also gutted the bathroom.

Today after all my usual things were done...beds, DW, washing machine load done and in TD. I decided to carry on with our bedroom.

The bottom of the built in wardrobe was an utter disgrace  I emptied it, vacuumed it and then had to get on my hands and knees and scrub it. The dust was damp and was stuck to the floor like glue. I've got 1.5 bin bags of shoes going to DD's special school as they're collecting 'cash for clobber'. I also have a bin bag of shoes for dumping as they're past it.

Mine and Dh's shoes are all put neatly back :D

I've now started under the bed.....not a pretty sight :o. So I've decided to have a break.

Waiting for my shopping to be delivered from Asda.

Have a good day folks :)

Hello all! Shortbird I am dying to know why 100 pairs of 3d glasses :rotfl:!

We make our Xmas cards every year. One year, when a certain channel was showing 3D programmes, we gave a home to some 3D glasses as somebody - not me!- had a really great idea to produce a Xmas photo. This would be processed to give a 3D effect and we'd send the glasses with the photo. Never happened as the effect wasn't quite as in your face as he wanted and the glasses have been in a carrier, hanging next to the Xmas wrapping paper ever since. Until Tuesday... when somebody had another good idea:D
So, this year's card contains 3D glasses and the text reads - and you have to be of a certain age to appreciate the joke - "Feeling the pinch this Christmas? Here's 3d to help you out.":D
So: cards done, most posted and a bag of 3D glasses liberated from the cupboard. And yes, we did buy the stamps before the prices went up.;)

happytails, evelyn sounds like a really cutie! I wish she could teach my DS to sleep!! Out of interest, which night nappies are you using? (I am also a cloth nappy user).

we use a variety of nappies made by work at home mums at night (totsbots easyfits in the day for 2 kids). the night nappies i buy preloved but they are far superior than commercially made nappies :)

Sorry folks,I've not been around here for a few days.I don't think that I'll meet my target but I did manage some tidying today which has needed to be done for weeks. It has made a big difference.:j

Maybe I shouldn't speak too soon.I'm off now for two days,so could maybe do some decluttering.:)
    Go for it! :j

    290. Used up a horrid cleanser. Expensive one it was too. Damn thing gone. Bottle recycled.
    291. Perfume used up. Getting very methodical to make sure I use things up in order. So if they've been open a while. Use them while they're ok still to use. Bottle recycled.

I'm not decluttering anywhere near the same level I was. It's been a long haul this month. And I've not quite fully cracked the bedroom and the kitchen. There's still tomorrow :)

Well done everyone on your decluttering. Even a tiny bit does feel so much better.

I managed to sort the 'drawer of doom' this morning and got rid of:-

    an old notebook - recycled
    2009 diary - recycled
    old address book - recycled
pile of paperwork - shredded and put in green waste bin
few small bits of cardboard - recycled
15 non working pens - binned
5 stubs of pencils - binned
    2 broken erasers - binned
pile of newspapers/leaflets from beside the sofa - recycled
    used envelopes taken into work
bundle of key rings - put upstairs with the rest of my collection of key rings, which I intend to display on a board in the spare room when I get around to it, I think I have a cork display board in the shed, so I will use that if I find it when we sort the shed next year

Didn't get the ironing done, but I did do one load of washing, and took a pile of paperwork off the kitchen worktop, and put it upstairs ready to be filed.

15 - 25 bag of clothes to charity shop that were now far too big for me since losing weight :-)
    26 - broken dining chair - thrown
27-29 three duplicate brand new books to charity shop (came as a freebie with a mag subscription, had the same freebie last year, god knows why I just put them on the bookshelf next to the others)
    30 - stained jogging bottoms - thrown
31-32 two ancient tatty winter coats - thrown

    This is feeling great

got a bit of an opposite problem now; ex has bought a load of new furniture and wants me to remove some of my furniture (while still getting use of other bits of mine that he still needs!). I can't see how I can fit in my room and it's not worth paying out for storage as all fairly old, but I don't want to get rid really as I'll need it next year when I move out. Lots of headscratching and measuring up going on today.

    Ostrichnomore:
Hmm, interesting dilemma with the furniture. A few random thoughts.
    On one hand:
You're decluttering. Will you need it all to store less stuff?
    On the other?
Will it survive the journey to wherever you're going to store it? (This is assuming flatpack rather than heirloom!)

I'd be tempted to have everything back in one fell swoop for convenience sake: you know exactly what you have and where it is, even if it does mean storage costs. That isn't a revenge thing, it's just that you have to keep going back time after time and that may not be a good thing for you.

Oh, by the way: 3 more items posted out in one ebay sale and another cereal box of paper gone to recycling.

Cracked on a bit more since yesterday.Sorted the grot hole that is the area under the stairs. I have also realised that I have amassed a large pile of plastic storage crates, baskets etc where I have been chucking and rearranging stuff. I have shoved them all in the bath out of the way for now, so I don't keep tripping over them. ( I have a seperate shower, honest.).

Apart from assorted gibble which I have binned or recycled where possibe:-

    1) Large bathroom cabinet - Freegled.
    2) Kitchen light fitting - freegled.
    3) Huge bag of used jiffy bags - freegled.
    4) 36 magazines - passed on to a lovely lady to take to a nursing home. She gave me the new issue of Good Housekeeping that she had just finished in return. :)
    5) Bag of old Thomas the Tank Engine toddler toys - sold for £12 towards DS's DS fund.
    6) A Get Well card from my stash to a local boy who is in hospital. He is trying to get in the Guinness Book of Records for receiving the most Get Well cards!

I have also listed a load of other bits for sale online. Fingers crossed. It seems that when I put something on for free I get lots of replies, but hear nothing when I ask for a couple of quid. Oh well.
