  • :rotfl: about the old valentine's card onm!

As mentioned, on my VERY short list to get clotheswise was some better fitting jeans. Managed to find some today in the charity shop for the princely sum of £2.99. Normally I would keep the old pair incase I put the weight on, but this time I am going to give them away. The chances of me finding them when I am that exact size is very unlikely, and I would rather have the space. The universe will provide when I next need jeans.

Have noticed already with Project 333 how little I am wearing skirts at the minute. Forced myself to wear one last week, but really am living in jeans. May have to swap one of my 3 skirts for another pair!

I'm new to the board but have been lurking for a while and have been reading this thread.

Over the last few years I've been going through a decluttering process.

My aim to only have things in my house that I use, or like and have special meaning for me.

I've sold a stack of stuff on eBay, and stuff that wasn't good enough for eBay has been recycled or thrown away.

My house is nearly done, although the loft still has stuff in it, so I'll be working on that next year.

The only problem is, I've enjoyed the ebaying so much, I'm going to do it as a little business so I'm going to get stuff in for stock.

Ah we'll, as long as more stuff goes out than comes in, I'll be doing ok,

Just wanted to wish everyone well, it's a long haul, but every little helps.

  • Hope you feel more inspired soon. Have you seen that Secret Agent programme on Channel 4 (on 4OD no doubt)? That might help inspire some action for your move. You've done so much decluttering over the last year or so you're probably already ahead of the game.

Yes, I love Phil Spencer's Secret Agent programme, been watching them recently. That's really what inspired me to declutter and 'neutralise' the house back in the summer. It looked really good, but more like a show house than lived in. We're back to the lived-in look at the moment: it's not really cluttered but just untidy. Everything lying around has a home now, but it's just not in it! Haven't had any viewers for a couple of weeks, and if the estate agent were to ring up and say we'd got a viewing, I'd probably go into panic mode! Best to tackle it now before that happens....

    Just a few things today:

    159. Pair of too big and too short jeans - taking apart to make a morsbag from
    160. Papers from yesterday - shredded. Actually only took about 3 minutes to sort through them and put them away in their appropriate box file. Why it took nearly 3 weeks I don't know!!!
    161. Loads of greetings cards given to me by next door neighbour: taken to my library talk group and given to members to use
    162. Bag of craft papers and stickers etc. - given to Surestart at library
    163. Shredder emptied and contents given to daughter for rabbits
    164. Out of date Harvester coupon for free starter or pudding - recycling
    165. 2 empty printer ink cartridges - will take to Rymans to recycle

Only 3 days left of this month.... wonder how much more I can actually chuck out....
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Lovely to read about so much decluttering.

Think the bedroom is now almost devoid of clutter. Two sets of drawers are empty and so the only one with stuff still in it is my bedside drawers!

I am aiming to return to my near-minimalist style which I really enjoy - now that the place is a children free zone there is no real cause for clutter to take over.

    Watch this space. :rotfl::rotfl:

I do need to buy a coffee table but two things hold me back. First is that I know it will become a repository for stuff, surfaces are deadly as they change overnight from being lovely and clear to being piled high! Secondly I want one which is higher than the standard 44cm and would prefer one about 55cm high but it seems really difficult to find one. Will search half-heartedly.

Good luck to those still wading through clutter.

Not counting the 100 sheets of paper, 100 envelopes and 80 odd stamps as they'd have been going anyway :D

  • Gers I deliberately bought small side tables as surfaces are magnets to clutter for us. Only buy something that's practical and you love :A

Loopychriss I think you should organize an open house day. That will give you a deadline!! For instance, the spare rooms are next on the declutter list and I'll aim to get them re-carpeted in February. So they have to be clear

I'm still working (only lightly) on the kitchen. We have 5 dishwasher cleaners! They were all over the place. So they're now with the dishwasher tablets. Like stuff together. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.:o

So the windowsill is clear. I just need to find homes for the stuff moved from there which is mainly cleaning stuff. Now if the undersink cupboard was clear/tidy.....:o

I think every time I put the kettle on I will find homes for this stuff. Some of it should be in the garage (like car bits).

    Keep decluttering everyone :A

  • Afternoon all.

Did a general tidy when i got in last night putting away odd bits of things, doing a wash and binning junk mail. I did something stupid yesterday. I brought in all the ebay stuff to work and put one of the tops in one of the handbags to protect it in transit. So I posted everything off and then realised when i got back to the office that I had posted the top in the handbag! It was the top meant for the late payer and typically about an hour after I get back she pays! So I emailed the handbag woman to ask her if she could please send me the top back and emailed the top woman to apologise profusely and explain what had happened and ask her to bear with me until I (hopefully) get it back. jeez, have had it with ebay for the moment. am going to give facebook and preloved a go for a bit. :(
