Evening all, glad to see you have all been so very busy! Heavens above there is a HUGE amount of decluttering going on here. :T

    71/72 - glass bottles - recycling
    73/76 - 4 big jars - recycling
    77/78 - 2 glass bungs - recycling
    79/80 - 2 thermometers - ebay
    81/82 - 2 long handle serving spoons - c/s
    83/97 - 15 various moulds - ebay
    98/107 - 10 pipettes - ebay
    108 - hand blender - ebay
    109/126 - 18 various scents essential oils - ebay
    127 - washbag - c/s
    128/129 -2 knitting patterns - c/s
    130 - pack of bottle stoppers - c/s
131 - bag of wallpaper samples sheets - recycling
132 - bag of shredded paperwork - recycling
    133 - cardboard shoe box - recycling
134 - collection of old manuals - recycling

Why do we keep old manuals for YEARS after the item has been discarded? Hubby has found a fw bits to go as well, he is desperate to declutter the garage too now but cant as his wrist is still bad poor old codger! :rotfl:

When we come to do the garage - which we are optimistic will be mid to late January 2012 - we are going to be into the several hundred items, if not thousands :eek:

Well done all, have a nice evening :)

  • Nothing done today as I've been at work.

Tomorrow I'd really like to tackle the two bookcases in the hall. The gap between where the books end and where the shelving ends (IYSWIM) are filling up again with bits of papers/lipgloss and goodness knows what else and it looks so messy. Also some paperwork to tackle before it takes over the table again.:o
  • happytails hope your headache clears soon

monsternextdoor hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Started tackling my wardrobe, am thinking of trying Project 333. most clothes will be bagged up for now, but a few small things found to go:

    68. bag was given as a gift, bit childish - charity shop
    69. flower corsage with very painful memories - charity shop
    70. skirt I very rarely wear - charity shop

Time for reading in bed. night all

mineallmine - I wouldn't worry too much about your place looking almost worse than before you started. Things always look worse when you drag stuff out of 'hiding places' and have to face the actual amount of things that were hidden. What matters most is that you've now got those hidey-holes cleared and can sort out and put back in an organised manner what is essential and dump what can go once and for all. At-a-girl, you can do it :T
Thanks Lilyplonk :o It is quite a deep clean/declutter I'm aiming for so I need to accept that the path will be hard work. Thanks for the support :j
    69. flower corsage with very painful memories - charity shop
Well done on dealing with this. Think of it as this - you can't let new stuff in unless the old goes out :A
Hope you have all had a better day than me !
Sending positive vibes your way :A

    Some small decluttering today.
    192. Glass, broken in dishwasher by hubby but I won't go on about it  but truth be told I'm not keen on that set anyway :p
    193. Carrier bag of rubbish from bedroom windowsill
    194. Ttowel still in its wrapping, a free gift with a magazine

    Night all :A

    Evening everybody :hello:

Got back home from dd's after quite a long day - so no decluttering at all for me - unless you count putting the bins out for collection at 7.00am this morning ;).

Love your method with books, museumworker - think I may need to give that a try out :T.

Good to see you enjoyed the Ideal Home Show, fitness - AND that your charity bags were picked up :D.

Be careful with those 'clothes buyers', dorajar - they never pay up as much as the stuff comes to. The ones around here are always being complained about. Think your idea of cs might be a better plan.

I've got lots of those mini shower gels too, luxor - I used them up when I go to the gym - saves taking large bottles with me. I find the mini shampoos (from hotels etc) is rubbish stuff, so I've emptied the bottles out and put a small amount of my regular shampoo into one of them.

Hopy you get rid of your headache, happytails ((((hugs)))).

Congrats :T on getting ruthless with the books etc, Gers and good luck with the carpet fitters. Hope they arrive when they say they will.

awwwww hope all is well with your lo, monsternexdoor - we had one down with it a few months ago. He hardly had any spots at all, but felt really poorly for a full week.

Great effort there, suzeesu - you're doing brilliantly :T.

Best of luck with the bookcases - marmite - it's amazing how much 'oher stuff' finds its way onto the shelves next to the books. Anything at all that we take off dgs3 (age4) automatically gets put onto the top of the bookcases where he can't reach it again :rotfl:.

I've got the gym again in the morning, but I've made a commitment to 'get stuck into' shifting some carp tomorrow afternoon. The binmen have been today, so I've got a nice, freshly emptied bin just waiting to be filled up again :j.

I'm heading off to bed for a good snooze now - so I'll pop in again in the morning.

    nitey nite .
  • marmiterulesok - I agree, places that should be empty seem to acquire occupants! This morning I quickly went around areas that I'd already finished and -
1 book finished and will be kept, so stored
    1 book recycled
    1 jar - recycled
    1 bag - bin
6 rags bagged and to cs
    1 decorative pot - cs
    2 painted coasters - cs
    2 rusty trays - bin
    1 tatty mat - bin

    Other items relocated.

    192-194.
Still focusing on toiletries, especially as more and more are turning up as I declutter.
    195. Nail polish (friend)
    196. Body lotion used up
    197. Nail polish remover, remains of bottle emptied into a smaller bottle which I can store away. Big bottle recycled.
    198. Face mask used up.

So lots of pampering today :D and I'm still targeting some other toiletries that are knocking around. Have a body scrub next to the bathroom sink to use up. At least I'm noticing a pattern, if it's a faff to use, that's why I've not used it. :o

The bedroom still needs a lot of work. There is still so much stuff in front of the wardrobe. I need to look at the storage in the wardrobes with fresh eyes. As well as go through every drawer. May look on Youtube for inspiration as I don't want to keep paying out for more storage/furniture although if it helps in the long run it may be an investment.

  • afternoon all

Well now today I have started at the top of the house. Cleared out all rubbish, papers, wrappers, tin cans and lost mugs from eldest sons room:) Cleaned surfaces, sorted clean and dirty clothes, made bed ... cleaned window sill etc. Aired room closed window and sprayed his aftershave....smells lovely. Thats one room down...so many more to go.

Cleaned and de cluttered small bathroom that oldest son and daughter share. Cleaned mirror, sink, toilet and hand washed the floor. Washed the door ... bleach down the loo ... closed the door:):) see a pattern here!!!

Now at top area between all rooms so have to dust, wipe, hoover and clean wooden floor. Down on the old knees ouch!!!
    So will update later.

Take care all and keep going.
  • Thank you all for your kind words, after a trip to the docs today there is not enough spots to diagnose but they are in agreement that she is not well so I left with a prescription for 5 bottles of calpol and 5 bottles of ibropruhen lol so saved a fair bit of cash there.

So far today I have done nothing cept walk the docs in the rain and come home and have cuddle ups on the couch with the pooch and baby.

Hope everyone has a good day :)
