  • That sounds good stuff Lilyplonk. Another vote here for avoiding mindless shopping! Am trying to concentrate only on buying stuff that helps or makes things easier or has to replace something we use regularly.

Less stuff, less things, more life :)

Small corner desk (replacing great big old thing thats falling apart)
New desk chair (third of size of our leather one)
    Door doormat (one binned)

    Red kettle (one one freecycled)
Two new blinds (two rotten blinds binned)

I have gotten rid of loads of bits and pieces this week but can't remember what as its kind of becoming routine now :j just hoping I am converted for eternity... am going to go and catch up with some posts

Hoping you are all having lovely weekend, donna x
  • Morning all

Have been awol for a while and need to get back on target for my tidy house for Christmas goal

This morning I cleared out and washed my 2 knives forks and spoons drawers. Some items ready for ebay, old 1970's bits and bobs. The rest washed and sorted...some for charity shop too.

Scrubbed both drawers and left them to air. They smell so good and I can now see what I have.

Lots to do today. Ironing etc.

Will pop back later with my progress.
take care all and keep going.
  • thanks lilyplonk, he is sleeping a bit better now in big cot - had 6 hours out of him on Friday night :j! Unfortunately I was out for most of those so didn't get much more than a couple of hours. Last night was 4.5 hours. The extra space and a dummy seem to help (had been resisting the dummy for some time as bf, but he's 5 mths now and am desperate for sleep!)

Yesterday I took a large bag of things (already counted) to Cadet's bazaar, and was VERY careful about what brought back (although did get a few things :o, they are things we are using already). Bagged up outgrown/too big baby clothes in our bedroom and put under the loft. And bagged up clothes for friend's baby. So no more outs but house looking a LOT tidier.

Will update later with any more outs - we are decluttering DD's friend back to her mum's after a sleepover. Does that count :rotfl:?

Another 7 items to the charity shop bag: this should be at whichever shop's open on Sunday as Him Indoors said he'd take it. Well, those weren't quite the words he used.:D
Cereal box full of jettisoned paper gone to recycling
    Additional bag of rubbish gone.

About to do some ebay listing while (hopefully) it's still quiet.

WOW after reading back the last 3 pages I feel so left out lol!

I reckon we could fill at least one house with our November decluttering would probably have to be the size of Buckingham Palace lol

    Well ....

    126. Haircut (me time! not had one since July!)
    127. Finally plucked my eyebrows (hello eyes!)
    128. 3 brand new bi-fold doors (too small stupid husband!) sold on Gumtree (have been leaning against my stairwell since July) stairs look so empty and bright now
    129. Polystyrene from packaging boxes - broken down and slung inside beanbags (that was husband's good idea!)
    130. Two slices to cheesecake - given to my Mum and DS for lunch at the shop today (gutted! lol!)

Right I am off to clear dining room/study
  • Ooops I've only just got up !!!

Ermm cuppa and then chucky out times !!!

I got up really late today too! Oh well, that's what Sundays are for. I took a couple of bags of stuff to the charity shop this afternoon, and later will be listing some more items on ebay. In between, I'm planning on sorting through a couple of kitchen cupboards. Hopefully anyway :)

Just read that back, and realised it makes me sound like I have a H U G E hoarding issue. I really don't! Just a fairly small, one bed flat, and slightly too many books/clothes/misc clutter!

    188. Sample of moisturiser all used up. Found some other sample size bits laying around so they will be targeted too.
    189. OOD Olbas Oil. Used up by sprinkling in a bowl of water to freshen up the bathroom.
    190. Papers/gumpth through the door
    191. Top

You know it's a daily onslaught this decluttering. You have to really keep an eye on what's coming in. I've had to buy new pans, the old ones have had it, so once I've totted up which ones are replacements and which are extras I'll make sure I offset these with decluttered items. Less stuff! Less stuff! Less stuff! :D
