Wtg, loopychriss, at getting all that out of the house asap :D - I feel so sorry for the lady who's acting as a collection point for all the items lol. With all those visitors coming round tomorrow, I'd make full use of the extra pairs of hands :j!
Thanks Lily; I think my mum was taking it down to a charity shop today so it's out of her house too. I'm one of those 'collection points' for everybody else's clutter: correction, I was, I've told them now that I don't want any more stuff!! Once you have the reputation for taking everybody else's cast offs, it's hard to shake it off!

Hmmm, all the visitors we had made a bigger mess than was there already! Granddaughter had the whole toy box out on the floor while mummy had her hair done, and other daughter and the hairdresser were all chatting while hair was being done. I didn't get any help, so I just gave up and went upstairs for a nap! I had a rotten headache anyway so I just left them all to it. Luckily hubby had cleaned up by the time I got up!

Just a couple of bits today:

    122 & 123. 2 children's DVDs that they don't watch - charity bag
    124. CD that was sent as a freebie with an Amazon order - charity bag

Going out to friends tomorrow so nothing will get done then either. There's always Sunday......
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

    Good evening everybody .

What a difference a day makes - dgs1 went to school fine this morning. Maybe yesterdays events taught him that perhaps the fear of going to school is worse than actually being there! It was so good to hear DD cheerful at 9.30 for a change !

I can totally sympathise with you, DD & GS1 as our DD has Asd and it really is difficult a lot of the time trying to understand what is going on in their wee heads xxxxx

Yesterday's decluttering attacked the man drawers(s)!!! After much chucking the 2 drawers are now 1. Hubby really got into it :D We now have a free drawer!!

Lots of pampering used up some bits knocking around too.

    151. Bag of bits from man drawer
    152. Magazine
    153. Face mask used up, been knocking around for a good few years
    154. Perfume used up. LOccitane sample size. Very disappointing, think thats why I wasnt using it up. All gone now.
    155. Small tube of conditioner targeted and used up
    156. Moisturiser used up
    157. Repair kit (CS)
158.159. Underwear/bra hangers (CS) our local CS uses lots of these
    160.162. Cardboard boxes

Just 8 items to find today and I'm still on target.

Well done on decluttering everyone. No matter how much much or little we declutter it all makes a difference.

What I'm finding now is that areas that have better organisation (a place for everything..) stay a bit tidier. And I can see where I need to fine tune things too.

and was sat reading the thread and being all impressed at how efficient you all are! And then I realised I could be using that time to actually declutter my own house instead of reading about yours!

I often think this myself and sometimes act on it!

I'm off now to try and do some clothes decluttering.
  • Let us know how you get on marmiterulesok! When I'm unsure about an item I try to wear it that day and usually decide not to keep it as it fits badly or feels uncomfortable :)

I saw this over on the prepare for winter thread and thought whilst we're decluttering we could pass on bits such as jumpers/gloves/ scarf/hats to a homeless person. Or I think Sally Army charity shops provide bits to homeless people.

I found THIS on Facebook - please 'like' the page to spread the word.

As part of your winter preps... Would you consider making up a rucksack for a homeless person?

    Scour the charity shops for:

    A rucksack
    blanket/sleeping bag
    jumper
    hat, scarf, gloves
    socks
    flask (fill with warm soup/drink)
some extra food (i'm going to put in some xmassy bits and chocolate)

I've never really given it more than a passing thought but when I think now about how cold I get walking to collect the kids from school, it makes me cringe to think that some people don't get the chance to go home and warm up, let alone have a nice hot dinner or warming soup :(

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help by either making a rucksack up or 'like'ing the FB page :A

Well done to you all for your achievements this week. Earlier this week I managed to return a car handbook to a car dealer who bought our previous car a few months ago. Today I sorted out all the clutter that were lying on the guest bed, some were recycled or thrown out but most of it has been transferred to OH's office for him to sort since most stuff was his. At least the guest bedroom is now neat and tidy again ready for our friend who is staying over tonight.

Tomorrow we are having a day out visiting family and will be decluttering several presents from our home to theirs.

    Hello

Everyone seems to be doing really well. I have cleaned the dining room and front room, not a lot to declutter apart from the dust.

There is a pile of paperwork waiting for me to sort it, this will be done by tomorrow evening Monday is wheelie bin and recycling day. We have also been given a charity bag (to be collected Tuesday) so hoping to find a few items to pop in.

Cleaned the cupboard under the sink. Two bottles of the same stuff open so have poured one into the other and bottle gone in recycling.

Decluttered a birthday card and one to go tomorrow. Will hopefully post tomorrow after a more productive day!

    Have a lovely evening
