Lilyplonk - me too!!!!
Well DD has now got decluttering box - she sold something on FB Sales the other night and got £10, we also listed her broken blackberry phones on ebay and they sold for £32, suddenly she appears at the stairs with an armful of items to sell lol!
Have been at work, so have been decluttering there too - returned diary to office, shredded loads of old paperwork, typed up a load of reports and circulated, cleared my drawer and found instant hot choc sachets rock hard that went out of date in 2006 lol0 -
Hi,
Not much happening here as I bought a fair few bits today (new kids shoes, tights fir the girls, some tops for dd2 etc and 4 Xmas stocking fillers along with more primarni clothes for me to wear as I'm a loooong way off fitting my pre preg clothes *sigh* but hoping to list my entire maternity collection this weekend on eBay :j (trying fb first if I get chance))

Had a 'bitty' kind of day.... put loads of things away that had been left lying out, place looks much tidier just for doing that. Filed some papers, emptied bins, and finally got shot of 2 sacks of toys that have been lying around for a couple of weeks waiting to be picked up. I gave them to the Community Wardens to take to the church Christmas fair on Saturday.
113. Papers filed/shredded
114. Yet another reel of cotton used up making bag handles (I use a fancy stitch on plain cream fabric to jazz them up a bit: can get about 4 handles out of a 250m reel of cotton!)
115. 2 sacks of soft toys, books and other various toys to church fair - probably contained about 50 items
Going really slowly as I'm not really in the mood for decluttering... I have to do it first thing in the morning when I'm freshly awake, or late afternoon when I've had a nap and am freshly awake! Be better this time next week, when nearly 200 tombola prizes will have gone, plus paper plates, cutlery and serviettes for coffee morning on Wednesday.
Have a very long list of Things To Do Before The End of November: once that's tackled I should have a stress-free, easy December. Best laid plans... and all that.....!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Evening everybody  - hope you've all had a good decluttering day
.
mineallmine - well done on clearing your dining table. It sounded a bit like mine at the moment - can't even sit down at it to eat
Monsternextdoor - a bedtime storu for a littleone always has to come before housework. It'll be one of her abiding memories for the rest of her life - my dd always loved 'Hungry Caterpillar' and so does dgd2. Hope you managed to make a start on your spare bedroom
.
donnajt - lol at your dd 'catching the decluttering bug'. Good that she gets into the 'good habit' now :T
happytails - good luck with the ebaying at the weekend. Does this mean no more 'pitter patter of tiny feet' in your home?
loopychriss - :T on your efforts for the Church Christmas Fair and your Coffee Morning. Your place will look empty after all that lot have gone.
Oh dear, here we go with today's instalment - not very good I'm afraid ...............
I had the kettle on ready for dd getting back from school - laundry was on the go and yesterday's folded ready to go upstairs to put away, when I heard the front door. I shouted out 'How did you get on?' and in walked dgs1 :eek::eek:. The horror had 'thrown a toddler-style tantrum' at the school and D/ Head refused to take him in. DD was in tears because she felt as though the school and SENCO weren't supporting her at all. Oh well, at least the Education Dept can't say that she isn't trying with him ........... he's obviously 'got a real problem' of some kind where school is concerned.
We waited 2hrs for a phone call that they promised and then she phoned them back. Got told the D/Head was on phone and would ring back asap. An hour later, she phoned again and was told that she'd now gone out to a meeting and would phone this afternoon. At that point, we decided to just go out but would have to take him with us. He got absolutely no 'treats' whatsoever while we were out - not even a bag of sweets/bar of chocolate/McD's. We went to the dull, boring cafe in the local Market for lunch and just had plain coffee and sandwich - much to his disgust! We did find a rather nice toaster in the British Heart Foundation Furniture shop - dd's has been broken for a while and this one is Morphy Richards in Stainless Steel and Black for £7 :T. The Deputy Head aventually phoned at 3.30 and said that they'd make sure that he was taken into school tomorrow - I think she means that they'll have the SENCO on hand to take care of the situation.
Maybe dd's threat to look into the possibilities of a 'special needs school' has made them decide to make more of an effort with him.
When I left at tea-time, dd was curled up on the sofa with all three kids - the two girls were fine and just enjoying the cartoons but dd and dgs1 looked absolutely drained of all emotions and energy............ I'm sure they'd have all been asleep within an hour of me leaving!
Oh well, in the words of Scarlett O'Hara - tomorrow IS another day!
It's my shift in the charity shop tomorrow morning - I WILL NOT BRING ANYTHING BACK HOME WITH ME (repeat 100x Lilyplonk!)0 -
Well pictures taken and uploaded onto buy and sell site 1 bag down, ended up doing squat today had to go out and get new bedding on orders of the man, So went into town to get some new sets, Argos had buy one get one half price so had to do 3 transactions to make sure I got full discount.
Came home put on the bedding and started looking around for stuff to bin and sell, Have pulled out a couple of dresses out of the wardrobe to get rid of and some other bits that I wont wear again, They will be on ebay tomorrow night.
Gonna really get stuck in the R&D room tomorrow with my LO and get rid of as much as I can, Will kill me but it has to happen, Procrastination got me nowhere !
Ive set myself a time limit of 2 weeks to clear out the R&D room including the cupboards and drawers and packing boxes in there, Think ill need a few stiff drinks !!!0 -
I love my mum......I love my mum VERY much.....my mum, who I love, has decided she is sorting her clothes out (think four wardrobes, plus two chests of drawers FULL!!).....She is sending them to me so I can eBay.....I can keep the money:).....I now have a stash of stuff on the alcove shelf Grrrr. I do love my mum!! :rotfl:
Will list probably next week as have to slot it into a time when (hopefully) hubby is not rough or I can't get them posted.
Have got some more storage boxes for the kitchen, much easier to stack and store stuff, especially as I am trying to sort a store cupboard too.
Was a good girl on Monday and scrubbed the nasty cupboard out. The deep fat fryer used to live there and it was only when I needed to get in the back of the cupboard, I discovered the DFF had pee'd sticky oil on the shelf  was gross! Have finally dealt with how to store mixer etc. As this is a really carpy cupboard, "L" shaped so can only access one end of it, storing the mixer, processor, liquidiser and bits was a pain. Have now bagged each one separately so I can hook them out with ease.
One week on and the bedroom is still clutter-free and tidy, I am so pleased.
Do you realise "our" Evelyn is a week old today? how time flies!

Lilyplonk, as lovely as my children are, 3 is definitely enough
ready to enjoy them all growing up and get my body back
Suzeesu, she is indeed a week today, at precisely 10.30am, I will be celebrating in costa with the mil (any excuse for a posh coffee lol)
Got a washing basket full of stuff now to list and sell. And a small carrier bag for the charity.
Must get rid of more things! It's like a virus this decluttering lark, once it gets hold that's it!

lilyplonk !!! I do trust that things get better today. How exhausting for dd and yourself.
Happy birthweek, Evelyn!
suzeesu2000 I do the same as you with the boxes. My last place had a L-shaped cupboard and that was the only way I could cope with it. Now I use boxes on most shelves and feel much more in control. They are so easy to pull in and out, and I use them all over the place. But at least they are holding things I've chosen to put there, rather than the misc grot boxes I've been working through.
1 metal stand - bin
1 empty box - fire
1 book - cs
2 plastic spoons - bin
old toothpicks (unused) - fire
1 bottle opener key ring - cs
9 OOD items - bin
Today I have a pile of plastic boxes and lids to sort - and probably chuck! I quickly looked at the boxes I brought in yesterday and 2 are full of glassware, so that is the next thing to tackle. I have about 6 boxes from my father, all with lovely glass and need to make decisions.0 -
well done everyone and I just love lilyplonk's stories
nothing decluttered but last night came home to find a charity had put a bag through the door and are collecting tomorrow. This is timely as it will save me a hassly trip by bus with 4 CS bags at the weekend so the plan is to have them all bagged up in plain bin bags (they're currently in BHF ones) and put out tomorrow. Must remember to count the books so they go towards my 50 by the end of the year outage.
In just under an hour I will be having my eyebrows threaded for the first time and i am terrified :eek:0 -
23 items out today to eBay buyers.
Relisting all of the items that didn't sell.
I've got loads of stuff to do today that I have been putting off so am going to do that, have a good tidy up, sort out my christmas presents and see if I have anything else for the eBay box.0
