I pulled another storage box from the garage this morning:
9 material remnants - cs
1 sheet - cs
1 tablecloth - cs
1 cushion cover - cs
2 boxes - fire
1 box matches - towards fire
1 old purse - bin
2 calendars kept for pics - recycling
1 belt - cs
1 book - cs
4 metal clips - bin
1 bathroom planner - cs
1 decorative tile - cs
2 headphone covers - binsilentsister wrote: »I feel for you monsternextdoor - it sounds as though you're looking at huge problems in every direction. Have you tried breaking down the decluttering into tiny parts? Do it for 5 minutes, or 15 - set a timer so you don't keep clock watching. Or just have a carrier bag in your hand and put in 10 things that you can throw away. Have a break then 10 things for the charity shop in another bag. They might seem like small achievements but you will be making progress. I spent 18 months trying to declutter in a 'must get it done way' before I changed to a 'must do it' way. I joined this thread and it really encouraged me to do something - often - whatever it was. You know your limitations, so you set the pattern - and we'll look out for your postings.mineallmine wrote: »142.143.144. Parafanalia (sp?) stuff for poaching eggs (CS)

Took all my CS bits to a different CS shop. A friend runs one I normally give stuff to. But this other one is really trying to improve it's layout/funds etc and I thought I'd give it to them. Their face lit up. So as well as a home now breathing a bit easier, gradually, its feels good to help charities too.
Sorted through the tupperware today. Sitting down in a chair as energy is flagging. Some useful vids on tupperware storage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH1fV4-zvDE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22k-kA_ULFk

Decluttering doesn't always involve getting rid of loads of stuff sometimes it is just about ensuring things have a home and that are in their home. I'm at the stage where it's putting things back in their home
I think I'm at that stage too, as I am really slowing down with the decluttering. At the moment it's looking cluttered because we've got things out and not put them back where they should be.
Just a couple today:
109. 2 lavender bags that have lost their smell
110. Old timeshare brochure
111. A reel of sellotape used up wrapping yet more tombola prizes
112. A reel of cotton used up sewing
Just off to watch the Hoarding programme about Richard on TV.... might give me some motivation to do a bit more afterwards!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Good evening everybody and big welcome to Monsternextdoor - we have something in common as we're both decluttering in order to move house
.
I didn't 'get a phone call' this morning, so assumed that things had quietened down regarding dgs1. Then I found out that the reason I didn't get a phone call was because DD was so busy trying to deal with him, that she didn't have a chance to phone! So I'm doing this from her house because I'm staying over to help with tomorrow morning - he knew I was here earlier this evening, but doesn't have a clue that I'm staying!
18. Assorted toys plus Tommee Tippee bib to cs.
19. Found a couple of old letters lying around - dealt with and now in recycling.
20. A load of unwanted personal papers shredded and now in Garden Waste bin - that's where our local authority want them putting along with grass clippings.
21. Dealing with all the files/papers etc has freed up quite a lot of binders, poly-pockets and project folders - these have now been 'gifted' to dgd1 for school projects and will save her from having to ask her mum for money when she needs them for homework.
22. Two spicy chicken portions removed from freezer and used up for evening meal earlier - very nice too.
mineallmine - great idea of giving stuff to a couple of different charity shops - share the luurrvve.
donnajt - love the recycling of the grey :rotfl:
silentsister - oh yes that immortal phrase 'just in case'! It ranks along side 'it'll come handy ONE day', 'it WILL come back into fashion' and 'waste not, want not' - every clutterbugs excuse!
tattycath - great to see that your dd's have been getting the 'declutter bug' and aren't just adding to what you have to sort out yourself.
Endless struggle - you're so right - it's not always about getting rid - putting stuff into their rightful home is often half the problem solved :T
Moonjelly - don't get disheartened - 'keep the faith'! Can you relist your unsold items? Or perhaps try a different site? Good luck
I'm off to my nest on the sofa in a moment - g'night all! Can't wait to surprise a certain 'little mister' in the morning ................0 -
I put in my sig November no clutter and this morning woke up wondering if I might actually manage that. I know I will still have more things that I can get rid of but I am aiming for the same thing - everything having a place and being in it! I am really bad at finishing things and need a deadline, so I will try to keep to this one. To help me break it into stages, I'll finish the few mixed storage boxes which have not yet been touched, then methodically go round each room. I've done some of them before in this way so it should be much quicker, and I can kid myself I've still got more to go - so really not an ending. Then I'm hoping that one day I will be at the end rather than recognising its coming and stepping back from it. (Well it makes sense to me anyway!)
1 faulty electrical item - bin
1 replacement item in garage with similar
1 lot of packaging recycled
2 glasses, 1 cracked and its twin - bin
2 pots with lids - cs
4 s steel serving plates - cs
1 butter dish - cs
1 tea pot - cs
1 sugar bowl - cs
1 jug - cs
3 coffee cups - cs
1 decorative tin - cs0 -

Today I must face the greatest challenge of all. The dining table! The plan is to remove everything from it into a bag(s) or box - rather than shuffle pieces around. Not looking forward to these as it's littered with so much. But it'd be good to be able to use it again
I want to do this by 9.45am so I can drop some soup to a friend who's poorly.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Morning everybody  - well, dgs1 has gone off to school. Not on the school bus as we'd really like him to do - has problems facing lots of unknown kids in one place - but his mum has managed to get him on the regular bus at a time that wouldn't make him late for school but she's still had to escort him all the way (2miles) :T. No problems getting dgd1 to school - she loves meeting up with her schoolfriends - different school from younger brother! I've escorted dgd2 to her school on time
- so that is 1 house now totally decluttered of children
When DD gets back, we'll have breakfast in peace while watching Jeremy Kyle - does that count as 'in peace' :rotfl:.
I'm going to take her to the local town centre afterwards - we'll 'hit the charity shops' in style and then become 'ladies who lunch'! I've also got loyalty cards for two free coffees at one of the 'nice coffee shops' :T.
Just about to tackle her waste rubbish bins before she gets back from taking dgs1 to school - so more $**** for slinging out :j.0 -
Dining table done. Emptied all stuff from table/chairs into a cardboard box and sorted. Most of it was rubbish or needed to be elsewhere/ put away.
146. Jeans (CS)
147. Bag of rubbish
148. Packaging
149. Old tupperware box
150. Batteries
Lilyplonk - glad things are getting better, think your intervention is needed on a regular basis for a while to get things in orderDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Well never went to plan last night as my LO wanted me to read the hungry catterpillar over and over again before for a late bedtime, but I need to run the postie and post some stuff, Ive already stuck tea on and then tackle the dump and run room that has to be done by the weekend as we have guests and I cannot and will not have a room that looks like a bondi.
lilyplonk - That sounds like my cousin a few years back good luck !!
Right to get back to jezza before this day starts !0
