I love this decluttering lifestyle - I am like a whippet in the morning now, striaghtening and clearing (got to keep everything decluttered now downstairs) got so much done in the first 10 minutes of today!
113. Magazine, Sunday Newspapers/Mags - recycling bag
114. Bag DD clothes for charity shop
115. 4 books for charity shop
116. Ironing done (will put away once DS and DH are awake)
Going to declutter my big cupboard in the dining room today as I have sold a few toys that are stored in there....
However am back to work tomorrow so I do intend to spend the afternoon chilling and evening relaxing0 -
Thank you, donnajt - DS1 doesn't actually live with us. He was just keeping an eye on the place while we went away. To the extent that he visited every day for 2weeks and had his lunch here - that way his vehicle was seen around the place constantly - just as if we were still here
.
It felt good this morning to get up and see the ironing basket and dirty laundry baskets empty; they were used a lot yesterday with all the laundry that got done. The ironing basket hadn't been used for its intended purpose for ages lol.
8. When I head for the charity shop this morning, I'm taking some no longer needed teddy bears and baby-ish toys from our toybox. DGS3 (youngest grandchild) is now 4 and these never get looked at. I'm sure that more stuff will graduate from their house to ours after Christmas lol!
9. Found some clothing catalogues - I never look at these as I do it all 'online' - so they've joined today's recycling.
10. All 3 bins (recycling/household waste/food waste) are now out on the pavement for collection and will be 'gone forever' within 2hrs.
That feels good now - 10 lots of 'tickoffs' since yesterday morning - to everybody for your motivation.
I need to get ready for today's aerobics session :j before I change my mind and make sure I take all the $hite out with me.
Then it's off to Argos - I've reserved '3 toys for price of 2' and I'm paying with a gift voucher- how's that for a 'no spend day' :T!!!!!! One of the toys is something that we've had trouble locating as well
.
After that I've got 3dgks to look after while their mum is at college this evening.
Happy decluttering, everybody - thanks for letting me join in!0 -

3 slide binders - cs
1 letter rack - cs
1 bottle bubbles - cs
1 book - cs

1 shoe horn - cs0 -
Hi All
Can I join too?
Spent nearly all day yesterday wasting time searching the internet for the magic solution to a clean and tidy home! Of course this meant that I didn't actually DO anything to clean or tidy the home.
So, having read back the last 10 pages of this thread I figure this is the way to go. I know from past experience that without all the clutter it's much easier - we decorated our living room 3 years ago and streamlined the storage and it takes less than 10 mins to tidy AND clean now - course that's because anything that shouldn't be in there simply gets moved to the dining room table or sofa!.
Anyway count me in - no target yet as if I start to miss the target I lose interest!
Thanks for inspiration will post back later.

Hi everybody,
Since my last 83 decluttered items :-
Recycling x 4
Composting x 2
Food ingredients/Recipes x 8
Container of plantlets left outside replanted in garden x 1
Old small storage boxes replaced with new x 1
Paperwork on the floor sorted x 1
Razor handle recycled x 1
Razor blade given to someone x 1
Job for a person x 1
So gone over 100 by 3. However, the figure has largely reached this by the routine recycling, composting and using up food items. Nevertheless, the act of my decluttering provides a reminder on the really difficult incompleted clutter; "horrible" to do but "horrible" undone.0 -
how many more bags do you have to go through?
That was a nudge for me to look in the garage - and bring in the last one! (That means cardboard boxes are empty, misc storage bags are empty and about 6 misc storage boxes to work through. I want to take them slowly so I can deal with the contents as I go along.) Just checked it and that's where the fabric is. So I've now put it together with the rest. I think quite a lot I can see myself using but some might go to cs later.
1 storage bag with broken handle - bin !0 -

Hubby didn't sleep well so I didn't sleep well - woken up exhausted
We've got 2 boxes of lock and lock storage containers so I think I'll going through them and see if I can get it down to 1 box.
I love this thread, it's non judgemental as we declutter all this stuff from our homes and its supportive :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Emergency visit to partner's parents. Decluttered 2 black bags of rubbish, 2 large boxes of paper recycling. Sorted out all the bank related stuff so it's all in one place but still needs a permanent secure home. Also got the phones back charging on their cradles, checked the answerphone was plugged in, did all the heavy shopping and had a really good tidy and vacuum. This may become a more frequent part of life for the forseeable future.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Not going to declutter cupboard as I decided a big decluttering job was to get DS to pre-school - so visited this morning and he starts next Monday that means every Monday I will be home alone from 9:30 until 2:30 :j:j:j got no excuse to have a cluttered home!!
117. Empty tin - recycle
118. Decal - put up packaging - recycling
119. Declutterd DS to pre-school every Monday and Tuesday

This is harder than I expected. (and it's only day 1)
I've decided not to count stuff that is just plain untidy and would (hopefully) get put away in the general course of things so I am only counting stuff that needs to be got rid of or has been hanging around waiting to be found a home or put away for too long.
