Thanks for your words, mineallmine - felt so much better for taking my  out on the kitchen instead of his backside! It was actually so funny afterwards because his younger sister (age 5) sat tutting at both him AND me - I don't think she liked my choice of 'angry words'
!
14. Sorted through a large box of photos/albums - and put lots of old, non-matching frames to one side for charity shop.
15. One Ikea cot duvet and cover set for charity shop - no more babies being minded overnight in this house!! The travel cot went last year.
16. Box of 'hanging files' from an old filing cabinet sorted through - metal strips ripped off and card in recycling bin.
17. A mountain of old invoices/maintenance sheets/meeting minutes/instruction manuals (over 23yrs old) into the recycling bin!0 -

Good afternoon, all - especially welcome to monsternextdoor! There are a few on here that that can empathise with you - and we'll give you all the encouragement we can. The move will really help - who wants to pay removal costs for something you really don't want in your house? Think how much you can save!
lilyplonk, I loved the decluttering you did at your DD's, and hearing about your DGD trying to keep you in line with her tutting! You have done brilliantly dealing with that paper mountain.
I pulled another storage box from the garage this morning:
9 material remnants - cs
1 sheet - cs
1 tablecloth - cs
1 cushion cover - cs
2 boxes - fire
1 box matches - towards fire
1 old purse - bin
2 calendars kept for pics - recycling
1 belt - cs
1 book - cs
4 metal clips - bin
1 bathroom planner - cs
1 decorative tile - cs
2 headphone covers - bin0 -
Fingers crossed the move will help Silentsister just have no motivation and have recently found out that the house we are moving to is smaller :S, So if anything I really cant keep any of it !!0

I feel for you monsternextdoor - it sounds as though you're looking at huge problems in every direction. Have you tried breaking down the decluttering into tiny parts? Do it for 5 minutes, or 15 - set a timer so you don't keep clock watching. Or just have a carrier bag in your hand and put in 10 things that you can throw away. Have a break then 10 things for the charity shop in another bag. They might seem like small achievements but you will be making progress. I spent 18 months trying to declutter in a 'must get it done way' before I changed to a 'must do it' way. I joined this thread and it really encouraged me to do something - often - whatever it was. You know your limitations, so you set the pattern - and we'll look out for your postings.0

I've just seen that you live in a very very cold house - that won't help. Do keep yourselves warm. Will the new house be better?0

Tbh I think im gonna have to take the plunge on the weekend and go in armed with bin bags, I just find that im a !!!!!! for keeping things just in case or I may need that and it has to stop, As fast as I do get rid of stuff other stuff appears (I swear it breeds)
The house is cold even tho the heating is on all the time, there is not enough people to heat it, Its a big 3 bed(hall is nearly the same size as the living room) more for a large family than 2 adults with a dot and a dog, large windows etc, Fingers crossed the smaller house will be better even tho again its a 3 bed.
I need to sit with a camera and ebay I think !0 -

Just in case - it haunts a lot of us!

My sympathies - my house is the same size and there's only me here. I moved in so I had room to declutter. Now I'm looking around for something more suitable.
I need to sit with a camera and ebay I think !
Good luck with that!0 -
142.143.144. Parafanalia (sp?) stuff for poaching eggs (CS)
145. Plastic bowl (CS)
Took all my CS bits to a different CS shop. A friend runs one I normally give stuff to. But this other one is really trying to improve it's layout/funds etc and I thought I'd give it to them. Their face lit up. So as well as a home now breathing a bit easier, gradually, its feels good to help charities too.
Sorted through the tupperware today. Sitting down in a chair as energy is flagging. Some useful vids on tupperware storage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH1fV4-zvDE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22k-kA_ULFk
