Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

I managed to black bag over 10 bags of clothing... A lot of kids clothes (some unworn) and ours. There were things from Gap, next and other stores with no marks on them... After the 10 bags were checked through at a "cash 4 clothes" store, I got a huge payment of £5
I thought that ebay would have fetched me at least 3 figures looking back now0 -
When I use other charities' bags I just tend to turn them inside out - though I must admit the quality can be so poor that black bags are better.
Another misc box sorted:
10 plastic beakers - cs
1 plastic wall fitting - bin
2 OOD items - bin
36 odd pots, trays, lids, bowls - bin
2 boxed cutlery sets - cs
mickaveli2001 what a disappointing cash4clothes result!0 -
Good Morning all - thank you for your kind words of support.
I'm afraid it was back to problems again this morning. DD got dgs1 to school and was taken to Dep Head's room. He started to 'kick-off' and wouldn't listen to reason from his Form Tutor and SENCO. They told dd to go and they would deal with him, at which point he grabbed and ripped the belt-loops on her coat as they pulled him away. Head Teacher had to take dd to another room to let her calm down though she was still in tears leaving the school - THEN she went on a driving lesson!
Things wouldn't be too bad if we could work out if this is related to his ADHD/ASD, is a genuine fear/hatred of school, or just a damn good attempt at manipulation.
Apart from that episode, I'm back on track with some decluttering -
23. Large Loose Binder of 150 Kitting Patterns OUT to c/s.
24. Full Zip-up Set of Knitting Needles OUT to charity shop c/s.
25. 6 Hard-backed Cookery Books and 2 paperback novels OUT to c/s.
26. Garlic Mushroom Chicken OUT of freezer for tonight's tea
Great progress Monsternextdoor - great idea to get your lo involved. Teach 'em young. good luck with the ebaying.
Well done to Suze and Mum - ebay is doing well out of this thread :T.
lol Happytails - three were plenty for me too! Trouble is that, between them, two of the three have produced five beautiful(?), adorable(??) dgk's !
Great work, silentsister - I know the feeling about those ridiculous corner cupboards that you can't reach to the back of - can't you just tell that it's mostly MEN who design kitchen cupboards/layouts. Plastic boxes/lids are the bane of my life - can't live without 'em and can't live without 'em
.
Thank you fitnessfreak- we all do love him very much, but he's so upsetting/infuriating that we try our best to keep a sense of humour inbetween the tears .................. Well timed with the charity pick-up and good luck with the eyebrows - I'll stick with the tweezers lol!
Congrats on the ebaying, Endless Struggle - and good luck with the relisting.
Awwwww mickaveli - that doesn't sound very fair at all! I thought they bragged about paying around 60p per kg for stuff :undecided. I'd have felt much better about giving them to a charity boot sale event or a good cs ........ but I suppose £5.00 is better than nothing at all. Have a go at ebaying next time ........... I'm sure you'll do far better on there
.
I'm going to make a start in the kitchen in a few minutes - see what 'lurking rubbish' I can find to chuck out ................. back later with the results.0 -
Errrm well scrap that, I ended up having a sleep in because my lo was up thru the night, R&D room still not done !!!! so tomorrow again !!!
Altho I did resist all the pretty ribbons and clothes in asda, I've set my self the task of making £150 on ebay and then I shall have a splurge.
Sold one of DD dresses tho so thats gone to a new home and booked a sale evening so I can get rid of the last remaining gift sets and try and get some more cash together for more newer bits to start with the spring summer items.
My new years resolution is not to keep stuff I dont need !!!0 -
Liliplonk - hope you don't mind me butting in, and I may be telling you about something you already know about but have you heard of the Parent Partnership Service? This is an organisation I have links with through my work and they exist to support families of children with SEN, and would help your daughter liaise with the school. There is a service in each local authority and their support is free and impartial and I know many families have found their support invaluable. Here is a link to help find your nearest:-

Sorry again if you know all about it already!

Nothing today ( hairdresser and dentist) but yesterday I went through my filing cabinet etc and filled a black sack to tip into the recylcling bin which was collected today. Also found enough stationery to last me the rest of my days. Probably too boring to give to grandchildren but there are ringbinders, paper, plastic sleeves ,and paperclips galore.
Also prepared a pile for charity shop - 20 of my garments and DH found aboiut 12. Many of his are nearly new, wherease mine have generally seen better days. Just need to make a car journey to get them there is too much to take on the bus.0 -
Oh dear, not much decluttering going on:

Hi and welcome to all the new declutterers btw!:wave:0 -
loopychriss - :T on your efforts for the Church Christmas Fair and your Coffee Morning. Your place will look empty after all that lot have gone
.
Thank you Lily; I'm lucky that I've got these events to offload stuff to.
My youngest daughter sent a big bag of 'stuff' round the other day; they are having an extension built and so she's having a good old sort out too. I just wish she'd take it to the charity shop herself, instead of giving it to hubby to bring home! There was a perfect condition laptop bag in there, a camera with no flash and a battery charger, plus lots of other various 'bits'. Hubby was playing with the camera for about an hour till he discovered the flash didn't work. Jury is still out on whether the laptop bag is staying or going, but I told him that if we keep it, one of the others has to go!
I put it all in a bag and took it to my mum's today to give to her friend who works in a charity shop, I can't be doing with bags of stuff lying around any more. It's true - once you've made to decision to get rid, you just have to get it out of the house!
Not much to report today:
116. Canvas bag - charity shop
117. Camera - charity shop
118. Battery charger - charity shop
119. Book from OH - charity shop
120. Lots of other bits I can't remember - charity shop
121. Fabric made into 5 morsbags
Getting there.... going to have a day in tomorrow, supposedly to clean and declutter, but got 2 daughters, granddaughter and a mobile hairdresser coming, so don't suppose will get much done!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Congrats on the new arrival (happytails I think it was?). Evelyn is a lovely name. And thanks becky 2 for the tip on the food - we have put all ours in the wall cupboards, they never go up there.
Am trying to declutter 3 things a day, because that is close enough to a hundred and a manageable amount for us.
20-29. Make up which have had for at least 3 years and never worn - bin
30-31. perfume, unused testers for bazaar sale
32. Another book for bazaar sale
