Evenin' all :D - I can see that some of us have had a busy day.

Well done on getting dd's dress sold, Monsternextdoor and a 'sale evening' sounds like a good idea - great forward planning there :).

Thank you very much for that link, Lurleene - I've just checked out the contact for my dd's home town and it's all news to both of us. Why the heck do they never pass on this kind of information when you first need the assistance of outside agencies to find your way around the SEN System - it makes your blood boil sometimes. DD is currently cleaning up his latest mess, but I'll speak to her again when she's finished.

Great way of 'decluttering' some bath items and face packs, Mineallmine - what a brainwave! It all counts towards the overall effort :T.

Brilliant effort for yesterday, Newly retired - you well-deserved your hairdresser. Hope the dentist went well :D.

Every little bit counts, Marmite - better to get shut of ONE item than bring one in ;).

Wtg, loopychriss, at getting all that out of the house asap :D - I feel so sorry for the lady who's acting as a collection point for all the items lol. Used to do it myself when my kids were little and I was involved with various playgroups, schools, church groups, creches etc. With all those visitors coming round tomorrow, I'd make full use of the extra pairs of hands :j!

Great idea to have a make-up culling session, museumworker - think that's something that we don't often think about :T

I've had some success myself this evening -

    27. Listed a no-longer-used highchair on Freecycle. I'll select a claimant tomorrow evening and it should be gone by Saturday morning.

    28. Emptied one of the dreaded 'corner kitchen cupboards' and boxed all my baking tins and microwave cookware ready for moving day - moved to box room. Found some tinfoil containers (saved from ready meals) and binned them.

    29. Boxed up all the plastic Christmas Party Ware along with four packs of napkins, a festive table cloth, large pack of doilies and 'silver' sandwich platters for moving day - moved to box room.

    30. Boxed a huge pile of pc cables and other jumbled wires/cables/pc bits/rechargers/adapters etc - OH to take them to one of our local market traders tomorrow. I'm sure somebody can make use of them, but I haven't got a clue what they even are :undecided.

    31. Found some unwanted vacuum cleaner bits - the market guy can have those as well, cos they don't match my Little Henry ;).

    32. Found 2 bottles of wine - will take to charity shop for Christmas Raffle.

    33. Binned some margarine tubs/lids got way too many of them for soup freezing.
  • Good morning all

I've had a great time this morning reordering messy spaces. Shelf in understairs cupboard cleared - in goes tidy box of batteries (1 less box on kitchen floor). Shelf above washing machine cleared - in go boxes of jars (less all kind of misc coasters!) + jelly strainer, box of washing stuff + wm book, box of spare shoecleaning materials + shoecleaning box, folder of instruction manuals. Two boxes of storecupboard foodstuffs have slid smoothly into kitchen cupboards. Two empty storage boxes back to store. Cleaning materials from understairs cupboard to be put in box under sink. For the 1st time in over two years I have cleared the floor in the kitchen (except for two boxes of glassware still to be sorted) - I think celebrations might include some much simpler floor cleaning!

    4 plastic pots - bin
old bag of seeds - bin
2 jars without lids - recycling
2 tea light stands - cs
  • Ahhh may be getting somewhere with my meds !! if I take them earlier I can actually function of a morning, So far ive cleaned the kitchen and dumped a load of random stuff that was in there piled up around the edges.

Cuppa, Jezza and toast before I crack on, Have a gang on James Bonds here tonight before they go the boxing and I have to cook for them just so they dont come in too mortal.

Have a good day whatever your doing :)
  • Morning all, well done silentsister on the floor clearing, and lilyplonk sounds like you're going great guns too.

This morning have had a good go at DS's room - have decided he absolutely HAS to sleep in his own room now as he keeps hitting his arms on the crib and waking up crying. Moved the feeding chair and radiator in there. Have gone through his clothes drawers and weeded out anything too small, bagged up and ready to stash under loft. 2 bits he has never worn have put in charity pile. Consolidated to one drawer, so in the top drawer have now moved all his reusable nappies and bum changing things. The now empty wicker basket which held the nappies has now moved to the living room and all of his toys are put neatly in there. I now have more floor space in his room, so should be much easier to hoover.

33-34. baby clothes we never used to charity
    35. copy of cd made for friend and she never wanted - recycling
    36. bits and bobs for bin

Right, have hit target of 3 for today, planning to drop charity bag at shop on way to herbal medicine class. Will be heating some moroccan lamb soup up before I go out and using food flask for first time too, so no need to buy lunch!

  • Morning everyone

first of all the threading was great! didn't hurt at all, in fact I didn't even realise she had started. that is going to be a regular from now on.

Bit of impromptu sorting last night. set aside 6 lipsticks, a lip liner, a four way nail buffer thing and a cocktail ring to bring in for the girls at work to fight over. re-sorted the 4 cs bags into bin liners and put out for collection this morning. will not be happy if I get home and find them still on the doorstep. :(

Free listing on ebay this weekend so plan to take full advantage. Am really going to try and big up my descriptions of things to make them sound amazing and make people want to bid.

Got a half day today as going to the Ideal Home at Christmas thing in Earls Court so no doubt there will be more ins but they will be Christmas presents I hope.
  • Oooh fitnessfreak74 free listings ? I have alot of stuff I need to shift :)

    183. too small trousers to fabric recycling
    184. pack of baby pjs to work colleague (must have been a baby gift I forgot :o)
    185. bits of old carpet to recycling hopper - didn't know they collected carpet bits, very handy :)
    186. new heater's packaging recycled
    187 - 193. decorative plates to CS
194 -198. the shoeboxes to Christmas charity collection

    102 to go :T

199 - 204. more bits added to CS box as DH was heading out.

96 left to find .... shame they are mostly in the attic

    Later.

    Attacked dressing table drawers ...
    BINNED:
    205. - 08. out of date self tan & moisturisers that I don't want to use as body lotion (yukky smell)
    209. manky nail files
    210. insructions for another watch I no longer own
    211-2. small boxes
    213. plastic bracelet I was given by 'Santa' at the office, in 1983 - there's a tale to tell :o

    CS:
    214. two make up bags (clean) to CS box
    215. flower brooch

    9.15 pm
    From the attic:
    8 items binned
    7 items of plastic recycled
2 books recycled as past it
    2 carboard boxes recycled
    3 storage boxes filled with
31 saleable items for the Air Ambulance shop.

so, 53 total OUT from attic. We pulled all this out before DH's diagnosis was made - it's taken me since May to find the floor again :o

268 so far this month :)

About to list 4 christmas trees on Freecycle.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • I'm seriously proud of myself today! Came home from a scout about the local charity shops, and was sat reading the thread and being all impressed at how efficient you all are! And then I realised I could be using that time to actually declutter my own house instead of reading about yours! So...three and a half hours later I have got a grand total of 63 items to get rid of! I've put some stuff aside to sell on ebay, but about 30 things are out to the charity shop tomorrow.

Plus, we freecycled our old dvd/video combi, and when we took it round to the lady's house tonight, she gave us a box of Roses! :j
  • Ooops !!

I'm ment to be getting rid of stuff and I've just bought a old toy bench off the local buy and sell site for £20 and shes threw in a cd rack as well but in all honestly they bench was a bargain as ive been looking at them and there £100 easy so I'm well chuffed !

Finally got round to uploading pics of my stuff on my business fb page and fingers crossed they sell.

Hope everyone is having a good night !

    Good evening everybody .

What a difference a day makes - dgs1 went to school fine this morning. Maybe yesterdays events taught him that perhaps the fear of going to school is worse than actually being there! It was so good to hear DD cheerful at 9.30 for a change :D.

I've currently got dgs2 (11) and dgs3 (4) here for the night while their mum and dad have gone to an evening wedding reception. They've both been working all day, so welcomed the chance to get out together without their 'shadows'. I've had a 'promise to collect' for 8.15am - oh yeah! I'll believe it when I see it ;).

I'm heading off to the cs when they've both been picked up tomorrow. Need to be back for mobile hairdresser around 1.00 and Freecycler is due between 12.00 and 2.00.

:T on rediscovering your kitchen floor, silentsister!

Hope your 'James Bonds' enjoyed their meal and Boxing Evening, Monsternextdoor :).

Well done at decluttering the baby from your room ;), museumworker. Hope you all manage to get a bit more sleep at night - aaaahhh remember those days very well indeed lol.

Hope the charity collectors took your stuff today, fitnessfreak. How did Ideal Homes exhibition go?

Wow luxor - you going for a world record - great stuff :T.

wtg lucy_lemon - looks like you and luxor are in fine competition for Gold Medal place!

great bargains, monsternextdoor - don't think I could have resisted those either .

    34. 1 Pizza removed from freezer for evening meal .
    35. Coffee table and its shelf cleared and all items either binned, recycled or put back where they belong.
    36. Dining table - as with coffee table.
    37. Filled a plastic bag with 'dead batteries' for recycling tomorrow at supermarket. Not out of the house yet, but they are in my rucksack ready to be taken.
    38. Half a mouldy cake into the foodwaste recycling :(.
    39. Recycled some parsnips, sweet potato, onion and celery into Spicy Parsnip Soup for lunch tomorrow - should be some left over for freezer too .
    40. Found some broken toys and thrown them out.
    41. A CD for cs.
    42. 2 LP's for cs.

That's me about done for this evening - need to get off to bed as I want to be up and about before the kids!

    Night night all!
