Consider going through the clothes and then looking at storage.

Made a start on the books and got 4 carrier bags for CS when I drop off DS's outgrown clothes. I suppose I haven't technically decluttered as they are still in the house. Been off today witha sickness bug so haven't felt like doing much. Bedroom/bathroom/study bins all decluttered as it is bin day tomorrow. Going to see if DH fancies decluttering the shed at the weekend as there are quite a few near empty (and probably solidified) paint tins that need to go to the tip.Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310

Good evening folks
I got the top of the house complete. Daughters room was a disgrace. She rang me from uni whilst I was cleaning. I had to bite my tongue a few times let me tell you.:):)
Am absolutely wrecked. So 2 bedrooms with so much chucked out, organised and cleaned plus a bathroom + top floor area. I feel good but the rest of the house is a tip.
Onwards and upwards tomorrow.
Take care all and keep cleaning.0 -

I have an empty drawer at the moment:j, and a couple with not much in them, so it can be done!mineallmine wrote: »You know it's a daily onslaught this decluttering. You have to really keep an eye on what's coming in. I've had to buy new pans, the old ones have had it, so once I've totted up which ones are replacements and which are extras I'll make sure I offset these with decluttered items. Less stuff! Less stuff! Less stuff!
That's so true, otherwise there's a danger of ending up back where you started, lol! I got some new pans recently, and immediately dumped the old ones in the garden, ready for OH to take to the dump, which he has now done. I must admit I have kept the smallest one, as it's hardly been used and is in good condition, but I will probably give it to my dad.suzeesu2000 wrote: »Why do we keep old manuals for YEARS after the item has been discarded?
When we come to do the garage - which we are optimistic will be mid to late January 2012 - we are going to be into the several hundred items, if not thousands :eek:
I've found loads of manuals, for things that we no longer own, since starting to declutter, but now I do try to get rid of them when I get rid of the item.
We have to sort out our sheds as soon as the nice weather returns, and we will have at least hundreds of items to get rid of too. There are boxes of stuff that we used to take to car boot sales, which I need to go through, and there are also tins of paint and other decorating stuff to sort and all sorts of who knows what else, lol!
Went to visit DS on Sunday and took the last of his clothes, which although they were all in vacuum bags, filled a huge crisp box. Didn't take the box, as it would have been too heavy to carry down our stairs and up to his flat, so that will go in the shed ready for when we do sort out our sheds. Was working all day yesterday so didn't do anything, except take in a bag of used batteries for recycling.
When I got home from work today I quickly had some lunch and then tackled the spare room (again!). I emptied the bedside cabinet, which was full of carp that DS put in there when he lived at home (he only moved out 3 years ago, lol!). Stuff that I think he will want to keep were put in boxes, which already have some of his things in, and the rubbish was binned/recycled. I also dusted and washed the cabinet, stacked some boxes in the corner where the cabinet was, so they are tidier than they were, and placed the cabinet on the other side of the bed.
Tomorrow is my day off so I will do some more in the spare room, and try to make a start on my dad's other pair of curtains.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Found a home for the spare 2-seater sofa that's been clogging up my diningroom for 2 years - a friend of a friend has been sitting on camping chairs since moving house, so everyone's happy. She's hopefully collecting it on Sunday."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Morning all :hello:
Well done all on your efforts - looks like all our local recycling centres and charity shops are doing well out of us lot :rotfl:. ........ and all you 'eBayers' have got me so envious - I've never plucked up courage to try to sell anything, though my son has sold quite a few things.
Then again, I very much doubt if any of my junk would actually sell- believe me, by the time I think it's uselsss, it generally IS!
My efforts for yesterday
58. 23 stray Tape Cassettes in rubbish bin - I say 'stray' because there are STILL three sets of cassette drawers each holding 36 upstairs that need looking at. I was very ruthless and only kept some very favourite COMEDY ones - Mike Harding / Victoria Wood / Billy Connolly / Jasper Carrott / Tom O'Connor / Joyce Grenfell. I love listening to those when I've got my sewing machine out :rotfl:. ooooh also kept back a cassette of Orson Welles' broadcast of 'War Of The Worlds'
.
59. Rotating plastic cassette holder to rubbish bin.
60. Lots of letters/envelopes - addresses, sticky bits and windows removed - into recycling bin.
61. Catalogues/JunkMail and Leaflets for recycling bin.
62. Lots of CollegeCourse material for recycling – THIS breaks my heart when I think of the hours of study, referencing and word processing that it all took!!!!! There's still more in the form of old Ring Binders and Project Folders - but I know that'll hurt too ...........
64. Some o-o-d CousCous and daily stuff into Food Waste out to Outdoor Caddy.
65. Half-empty bottles of cleaning products decanted into their matching partners to free up some empty bottles - all rinsed and into recycling bin.
66. Yesterday's laundry all washed, dried, folded and put away - at least it's not lying around in a folded pile.
No plans for any activities outside the home today - decided to have a 'full-day-push' to see if I can clear some of the carp in my bedroom. Well - I WILL make a start when I've finished watching 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
speak later with a further update, ladies - and keep up the good work0
