Evening!! Not much done here today, and still no washing done (ashamed!!!) going to have to play catch up tomorrow!!

I am however sewing for the first time since August! Im making a small blanket for the baby with some taggies on one side. Well i *was* until my DS woke several times and now appears to not be tired. I am now sat in my bedroom waiting for him to drift back off so figured id get the laptop out :D Using up just a bit more than 2 fat quarters of fabric and 25" of ribbon but i suppose i cant count it as ive just transformed said items into another item LOL

i did however delete old voicemails off my phone this morning, i had some from last summer!

My DD might be going with a friend of the husbands to the stables for a few hours tomorrow, shes nearly 4 but really likes horses and said friend has booked his daughters to 'look after' a horse for the day and learn about them, i think they are a few years older but DD should still enjoy it. So IF she goes im going to take the opportunity to sort through her room and CS some teddies that she never plays with. I just keep thinking about all the stuff they are going to get at Xmas and DS' birthday which is 2 days after

Sarah I think it's perfectly right to add your two fat quarters and ribbon to "outs" as you are making what was clutter into a useful item, thereby freeing the space it was stored in as clutter. :)

I sorted through a massive load of paperwork, have made it smaller by removing all the over six years old stuff, haven't shredded it yet, will probably do that Saturday evening.

Am currently kicking myself for getting rid of a duvet earlier in the year, am now thinking I could have made a warm Cardigan type thing for me. Never mind, shall have to see what else I can use instead.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

    Sleep tight :)

Up at 6.00a.m. and decided to sort out some stuff before I got showered and dressed. Another bag of unwanted items by the door. I could get addicted to this!

Many many many moons ago (about 40 years) my mother made a lovely wool rug which is still with me - one where you tuft the wool strands and pull them through a sort of matting. I really have to either keep it and have it cleaned or chuck. My mother says to chuck it... but my heart strings are pulling away like crazy. May just have it cleaned and then give to CS.

    Decisions.

Does a declutter room give a decluttered mind? :rotfl:

I'm certainly finding it helps! It makes other areas stand out in contrast, but it is helping me to think more clearly about things. As I typed that, I realised there were two issues there - "think more clearly" in general and "about things" in particular. I am actually seeing what I have, instead of just a pile, so can therefore work through whether I need them, will use them, just want them or none of the above. I'm certainly not there yet - with a decluttered house or mind - but the gaps are helping me find piles that were previously hidden. I didn't think I'd still be able to get rid of much this month but over 200 non-book items gone without any trouble!

    Absolutely it does.

As a person prone to severe depressions, I can honestly say clutter affects my mood and thought process. If I am surrounded by clutter, I cannot think clearly or sleep soundly, I think decluttering helps to release good-feel endorphins!! :)

Have a great day all :)

My endorphins are jumping around like mad things! Two more trips to CS with detours to tip on the way back. The new improved ruthless me is staying put.

I have found two unopened packets of poly pockets along with about four or five unused lovely lovely notebooks. Gone...:j even though I had to think about them more than twice. I love stationery which means I have hoards of unused but lovely lovely stuff which I tend to just look at and put away. Gone. Gone. Gone.

As it's very cold here I am going to lie on the sofa, wrap myself in a throw and watch Escape to the Country for a little while - until I get bored!

    Good decluttering all round.

This month I have not done much decluttering due to being on holiday or feeling too tired to declutter.

Today I have managed to do all the washing (got 80% dry on the washing line today which is great), cut down 3 tomato plants and 1 chilli plant which I have put in the garden bin and I also sorted out the receipts in my purse.

    Good luck with your decluttering.

Evening, nothing out today. In - lots of groceries and household products (bleach, kitchen towels etc), a pair of socks for the husband, a pair of leggings for dd and 2 packs of stickers and activity books for the kids for when the baby arrives.

Got my eBay items ending tomorrow, 15 of them and 1 has a bid on so far. Hopefully I'll make some decluttering progress tomorrow!

That's a good idea - I've got tons of fabric I could make these from although I don't have any babies on the horizon at the moment. I made my grandaughter and grandson one each last year.

I remember making one before I was married: got it from Readicut, cost about £40 (in the 70s) and took months and months to complete. I too had guilty pangs when the time came to dispose of it, but they fade....!!

I'm a sucker for pretty notebooks too .... I've got 5 or so that I have stashed away for future use (no plans at the moment for them), but I'm not ready to ditch them yet.

Got a few more 'outs' to report:

    36. 2 cereal containers, 1 Tupperware, 1 not - going to Charity Shop
    37. A widget for the loo cistern - Charity Shop
    38. A widget to fix to a shower head - Charity Shop
    39. A doidy cup (special toddler drinking cup) - back to daughter
    40. Ironing board underlay fabric - Charity Shop
    41. Patchwork squares already cut out - Charity Shop
    42. A reel of cotton used up making handles for morsbags

Don't think there will be much decluttering happening here next week: youngest daughter, partner and our disabled grandson are moving in on Tuesday while their house is being adapted for Harry's needs. They have to take everything out of every room while the walls and ceilings are being fire-boarded, so can't live there for about a week!

All my previous decluttering has paid off, because I've found room in cupboards, the shed, the garage, loft and the spare bedroom for all the stuff they need us to store. Loads and loads of boxes came today, probably more tomorrow. The place is going to look like a bomb's hit it come Tuesday night!

Not a good look if we have any requests for viewing the house next week, but I'm sure they'll understand! At least it will show how much 'stuff' the house can hold!
