Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

Afternoon everyone.
Well August has arrived and I found my first item to discard in a baking tray...well, hubby had used it and....need I say more:rotfl: So day one, one down! Also shredded a bag of paperwork- I swear this breeds, I did a huge load in July.
Am sort of decluttering my craft stuff by making a box full of stuff and then selling on eBay. What doesnt sell will go to my lovely RSPCA shop and what does sell I shall make more of. Money made will go into the moving fund - we have to buy a new cooker when we eventually move so I have a target.
Happy August all, have a good one whatever you are doing.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Hi everyone
Yesterday I had a sort through DDs clothes and a lot are too small for her. Do people sell clothes at car boot sales?
I am considering doing one in a few weeks time0 -
Hi all, I fell behind with my declutter postings for a couple of months but am challenging myself for the next few weeks to reach at least 100 items decluttered before we go on holiday at the end of the month.
Have just posted 11 eBay items so that's a good start for the monthI have also thrown out a few boxes from dd's birthday presents, some junk mail, a pair of worn put shoes and a bag of various jumble.
Tonight I aim to get together everything I need have for zapper and get them ready for posting.0 -
All very quiet here this afternoon - perhaps the Olympics are playing a part!
Today I've finished decluttering the sitting room and my office. It all looks so different! I have now identified a few pieces of work to be done, and can get straight to them without trailing through everything looking for papers.0 -
Hi,
Is it too late to join??
My shed is full of junk and my loft is threatening to fall in with all of the things I keep putting up there 'just in case'. The trouble is there is so much up there that I can never find anything when I do need it - so what is the point.
My plan is to start with the spare bedrooms, then move on to the shed before eventually tackelling the loft. I will try to put bits on Freecycle each day, will Ebay anything I think will sell and will do a bootsale or two during the summer.
I am notoriously bad at completing challenges, but really need to do this as I am not getting any younger and would hate my children to eventually have to clear out all of my rubbish.

I only managed about 15 items out in July. I'll try harder this month, still aiming for 100 items out.
Posted a sold DVD earlier, and got rid of a couple of padded envelopes and bits of bubblewrap that were no good for re-use, so will count that as 2 for August so far.0 -
Hi Jess444, you're very welcome.
It sounds as though you know where you are heading and have a plan in mind, so you're on your way. I'm another person who's not good at finishing things and this thread has really kept me at it. Let us know how you're getting on.0 -

So... target achieved on day 1 :rotfl:Hi,
Is it too late to join?? Jess
It's never too late! Welcome and good luck. Looking forward to hearing how you are getting on. It does help to post what you have achieved (I was hopeless before I joined this thread) xI only managed about 15 items out in July.
15 is better than 14 or any number below that
I'm cream crackered, been on my feet all day in the shop.
1. Skirts to CS
2. Trousers to CS
3. DVD to CS

Hi everyone

Hi kraftykat, yes, people do sell clothes at boot sales - in fact, when my eldest daughter was a baby that's where I got most of her clothes, as they were always in very good condition. (Being that babies outgrow their clothes rather than wear them out!). People sell anything at car boots these days, so give it a go.
First day of August, and I've made a good start:
1. 2 magazines - recycling
2. Old Argos book - recycling
3. Loads of receipts - shredded
4. 1 vest - homeless shelter bag
5. 1 tin silver spray paint - bag for children's centre
6. 2 books - charity shop
7. 4 notebooks - charity shop
8. Loads of paper - bag for children's centre
9. 3 sets of paints - bag for children's centre
10. Umpteen paint brushes - bag for children's centre
11. 1 paint palette - bag for children's centre.
12. Wicker basket with lid - charity shop
13. Wicker basket without lid - charity shop
Won't be doing any decluttering for a week or so as we're away, but will continue when I get back. I plan to take a notebook with me and do a 'virtual' declutter - as long as I write it all down I can do it when I get back!
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
