Thanks Loopychriss! I'm thinking that I might have a rummage through the food stocks tonight, and chuck stuff past it's date, and any other rubbish that happens to be near the kitchen table (which needs to be moved).

I've also got Thursday off in order to prepare the area and the old machine for collection (they take it away for free! Love it!). OH is supposed to be asking today, for Thurs an Fri off too so he can help out. :)

I've made the decision to get rid of my cross trainer it is just so big and I don't really use it. I think I am going to give it away for free as it isn't perfect. I've put a load of stuff on Facebook to sell too.

I sold my cross trainer last month for £15 on Gumtree - might be worth a look - I had about 15 enquiries, so I wished I'd priced it higher!

 :T That's a terrific total on the third day!!

euronorris tut tut for the procrastinating :naughty::p

Great advice from loopychriss :) If you want specific targets perhaps:

Tue: Go round the whole kitchen and bin everything that definitely needs to be binned - this should be quite quick and will get rid of stuff that doesn't need any deliberation... Also will give you a good start and a sense of achievement to start you off.

Wed: Find 2 boxes or bin bags - one for recycling and one for ebaying. Go round the kitchen again and remove any unwanted items, chuck them in the appropriate box or bin bag.

Thur: Take the recycling wherever it needs to go. List the ebay stuff. Reorganise what is left in the kitchen and wipe over shelves etc as you do so. Move the stuff that needs to be moved in preparation for the delivery and installation of the new WM.

    Fri: Welcome your new WM!!

    HTH xx

ETA forgot to post my own achievement!

marmite, I just love books! But I've inherited books from two family members, and gathered a whole library of books several years ago from someone I'd never met - as well as my own collecting. Even though I'd not read a large % of them they just felt comfortable to have around. But the number of books I have dictate the size of accommodation I need - which is not good. So for the first time I am seriously looking at them, and quickly and decisively saying I do not need this, I will not be refering to it, I've got a better book than this on xxx - then trying to be realistic about whether anyone would ever pay any money for them. If not, why pass my clutter onto the cs, and into the bin they go. I can promise you though that at the end, I'll still have more books than I actually 'need' but that's what makes it home for me. (Having a library background may have something to do with it!)
  • Hi all,
Haven't read back, but hope everyone is ok.

I'm doing my best to declutter, but am rubbish at updating on here. Am aiming for 100 things this month as really want to eBay loads and need to decorate our nursery so need to get rid of some junk! unfortunately we're also accumulating baby bits so feels like we're not gaining space!

Got rid of 9 bits via eBay over 6 lots. Also got rid of 4old mags and a mountain of old letters (which I'll just count as '1').
Have got a box of old CDs which OH has until the end of the week before they go to cs and musicM so will count them then. Also few other bits in there for cs but I'll count at the weekend when they're gone.

Will try and have a little read back later on.
