Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

Right it's the beginning of the month and I must continue with my decluttering. When you've lived in the same home for 30 years and raised a family it's AMAZING what treasures, some might say junk, you keep.
Today I've binned some shoes that I intended to have resoled last year if not the year before that, a bra where the underwire had broken through, an iron guarantee.
Poured several shower gels into one, mixture is an awful colour, I shouldn't have poured them into a clear one. I expect I'll be the only one to use up this concoction
Keep up the good work girls. :A0 -
Forgot to add that I'm trying to eat out of thr freezer at the moment. It needs defrosting.
Also trying to have a no toiletries shopping for July except for my hair colour. One must keep up appearances:rotfl:0 -
A good day today because the recycling bin was emptied (and is now 1/2 full again). I've decluttered another area and have an empty drawer!
1 ring binder to bin
1 cardboard box to early morning recycling
1 sad pillow to recycling
1 bag of shredded paper to bin
2 rawlplugs to friend
83 books to recycling
8 handbags to cs
pjran, my hair started going white when I was in my early 30's. Now everyone only knows me like this - this is my appearance :rotfl:0 -

I'd love my hair to be white, I think it would suit me but my hair is naturally a bland looking brown
Roll on the grey is what I say......haha
We put shredded paper on the compost heap with all the veg peel, grass clippings etc.0 -
Today has started well:
2. Paper/card recycle box out & emptied
3. Plastic bottles and tin can recycle box out & emptied
4. Garden waste bin out & emptied
5. Strawberries gone fluffy - in the bin
6. Baby carrots gone black in places - in the bin
I've arranged for 2 items to go to freeglers but will probably be tomorrow so will post when done.
ziggy sorry to hear you've been struggling :A I've been there. Big hugs and do pm me if you need to offload xx

Please help me. I have procastinated so badly.
The washing machine finally gave up the ghost on Saturday morning and is no longer repairable(it was over 10 years old). So a new one is being delivered on Friday. This means that we have to clear the area around it, as well as disconnect it completely and drain any remaining water from it.
I'd quite like to get rid of a lot of stuff, rather than just moving it around again. So, I'm asking you guys to set me some targets in the hope that I will then stick to them.
I have stuff that can be ebayed, thrown out and recycled.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

I'm putting a lot of what I have left on Ebay in joblots so hopefully it sells and I have a bag of about 50 items for the charity shop. No interest in some of the stuff I have on freecycle at the moment0

First of all, welcome to the thread euronorris. You have got a couple of days before your new washing machine comes, so the best thing to do is to sort out 'one thing at a time'. I did this when I was overwhelmed with clutter and stuff: just concentrating on one thing at a time was attainable - no pressure and sometimes that one thing took just seconds to sort out. It's not a competition or a race - just keep concentrating on sorting out one thing at a time and before you know it, you'll have the area cleared and tidy and all ready for your new addition! Good luck!!!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

I've made the decision to get rid of my cross trainer it is just so big and I don't really use it. I think I am going to give it away for free as it isn't perfect. I've put a load of stuff on Facebook to sell too.0
