Please may I join in? I know we are a long way through June but think I can make a good stab at the total. I’ve been decluttering for ages but really need encouragement to finish it. My house is far too full, and when I’ve taken out all I don’t want, it will be far too big for me. I can then move to somewhere smaller and be surrounded by much less Stuff. I stumbled across you all when I was taking a break one day, and it gave me the encouragement I needed to take it much more seriously.
    So far today:
    1 3 prs shoes
    2 11 dvd’s
    3 14 cd’s

Don't worry about it being late in the month. This thread is 'ongoing'.

So keep posting and keep decluttering!

I have a few items to add but will be back later when I've amassed more.

Cleared out 7 shelves in the hall cupboard today - bagged up excess duvet covers etc for charity shop and amazingly found the picnic blanket that was lost for months under the pile of bath sheets! The floor space has two boxes of memory stuff so they are not being done today...

Also filed my jewellery class notes instead of just throwing them in the box with all the beads etc.

10 more sleeps until we get the keys to our new house. Felt strange going out today without having to go via the charity shop or rubbish tip, lol.

Will definitely be doing a tip trip next weekend though to dispose of our old bed. Getting a new bedstead tomorrow and a new mattress next Friday :)

Thank you, Igamogam, for boosting those numbers. So to continue:
    29-75 46 unsaleable cd's binned
76 large grotbox has now become a small grotbasket, a pile that I want to keep that still needs putting away and rubbish that is in either the recycling and the bin.

Other items are sorted ready for the cs tomorrow but I'll add them in when they are out of the house.

It had helped me to know that I can't just turn my back on things today - I've got numbers to report!

A lot of motivated people here.

We have a vast amount of "stuff" we are going to try our hand at a boot fair and see how it goes. It's the first phase, we will do another round of de cluttering in another month or so, it's suprisingly hard to do, we had to go round rooms and then go round again things that haven't been out in over 10years now.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2163459/We-nation-hoarders-homes-filled-junk-worth-1-045.html
The average British home contains £1,045 worth of unwanted items being hoarded for no good reason, a study reveals.

We typically hoard 28 things each, with handbags, old mobile phones and laptops among the most common items stuffed under beds or tucked away in drawers.

Researchers estimate that three million of us never throw any household items away – even if they are no longer of use.
The study, carried out by online auction site eBay, found that de-cluttering the average home would raise enough to fund a holiday for a family of four.

See, we are not alone :D
