Decluttering 2012, this year, definitely ...

I've had a busy time trying to tidy the garden. Managed to throw away some polystyrene bedding pots, I usually hoard these and hide them in the shed! But I've turned over a new leaf
Also threw some plastic plant pots.
I don't seem have made much of a dent in the home but I haven't missed one thing I've thrown out so far so must be doing something right.
Hope you're all enjoying the jubilee weekend.0 -
I've just caught up with reading your posts. I need to tackle the fridge, I'm sure there are some out of date food stuff, including some mouldy marmalade.
Forgot to say that OH shredded old bank statements and insurance bits. He needs to do his bit too :rotfl:0 -
Hello all
May I join you please?
I am a 38 year old mother, wife, special support assistant in a special needs school and learning how to become the person I have always wanted to be - grow my own-make my own-bake my own-chemical free-eco warrior
At the moment I am a MEGA procrastinator and really want to change myself. I have clutter EVERYWHERE and my whole house needs a major clean-up! I flitter on and off the Flylady thread and in fact a kind soul on there has recommended this thread to another user so I have come to have a peep myself
I am quite a happy gal in general but wholeheartedly believe that myself and my family will enjoy complete contentment when I get my house out of disarray and in order
Please adopt me and help me to help myself x
Many thanks,
Jenny xEverything happens for a reason0 -
It's Whitsun holiday for me and one of the things I am going to do is to declutter all the clothes that are literally taking up my bedroom floor and airing cupboard! I am going to wash and put away what I am going to keep, wash good clothes and take them to local cash for clothes unit and any that are non-useable I am going to turn into bags and rags
It will be a HUGE job but a HUGE achievement too and to be honest I'm quite excited by the outcome of it
Happy de-cluttering all

Pretty please could I join you lovely lot? We're newly-weds, but have lived together ('in sin' acording to my late grandmother!)for just over 6 years.
We live next door to the in-laws & it was always going to be short-term, so we hung on to a lot of stuff, partly as I felt I was giving up my independence when I moved in (we're several hundred miles from my family) & if it all went wrong I didn't want to be re-buying everything (I used to be cautious to the point of pessimism), and partly because we would have space for everything in our next, bigger, place.
I was made redundant after 5.5 years & took a huge (over 50%) salary cut, so plans to buy somewhere have been delayed drastically, but make no mistake, I am VERY conscious of how lucky I am to have been headhunted straight back into work. No doubt I'll ramble on some more about how we got where we are again soon, if you can bear it....
But anyhoooo...here we are, newly married & have been consistently missing our self-imposed, but somewhat unrealistic deadlines to be de-cluttered, so it's time to sort it out, once & for all! It's time to let go of he insecurities I had, as that 'safety-blanket' of keeping EVERYTHING 'just-in-case we need it' is getting in the way of enjoying our lives.....0 -
