    Ditch 100 in March 101/100

Haven't managed a great deal over the last couple of days as have been feeling really low. The little I have done is

99 Lots of crazy bandz - school friends
100 Lots of photos passed to various people (pics of other people kids etc)
101 Bag of junk (modelling) - School

A "BIG" out is planned for tomorrow, step son finally collecting our old car from the garage (only been waiting for 6 months lol,) then I'll be able to send hubby into garage to photo the trailer that's not been used for years.

    Night all, back tomorrow

I moved everything around in the kitchen this weekend and got rid of more stuff. Now everything is in the right place for the job it has to do and I'm very happy as I've been putting that job off for ages! :)

Went to my friend's workplace after work last night to help her start decluttering her office. Looks like the next few Monday evenings are going to be binning even more stuff and helping out a friend at the same time. :)

Anyone else find it easier to throw out other people's stuff than their own?! :D

  • Good evening to all :hello:I've been sort of lurking around this thread over the last few days, and it's time to be a lurker no more:j
Having had to box up the bathroom and kitchen with 4 days notice last November was a bit of a shock. My landlords had been dithering for well over a year about whether or not I was on the schedule for the replacement in 2011 or not, they sent the firm out to do the measuring up in Oct and told me it would be done in March.... then changed their mind and gave me a new start date:eek: Considering they aren't large rooms I was shocked by how much stuff was in the cupboards in the kitchen, on the plus side it has made me go through the stuff that went back into the new cupboards and onto the worktops, unfortunately most of the excess went into boxes in the airing cupboard 'to be sorted out later'.
That seems to be the constant theme, I start with good intentions and then it slips back into the pattern of 'I'll just put it out of the way while I decide what to do with it' and certainly explains why over the weekend I was pulling stuff out of the hallway cupboard that I couldn't remember putting in there:( It's not that I don't do periodic clearouts but more that they're a little hit and miss.
So many thanks for the link to the Declutter Calender that I spotted several pages ago, I will go back through the pages and thank the posters:A I've signed up for Beths emails and downloaded the calender but Big Thankyou's in advance as it were for giving me the extra little incentive to stop procrasti-thingy-ing about where to start  on those days where I shift my 'organised' piles of clutter from on room to another:)

I have to say I'm finding it much easier to keep the kitchen and bathroom clutter(ish) free since the refit but I think that was because I was quite slow to start putting things back on the surfaces AND I have pics somewhere on my phone to prove what a tidy room looks like, just need to spread it to the rest of the flat :rotfl::rotfl:

So I'm in, Ditch 100 in March Challenge but I'm not counting them until they've actually left the building, however I'm pleased to announce that the following have left the building already today...

    1. Bag of Plastic Recycling
    2. Bag of Cardboard Recycling
    3. Bag of Paper Recycling
    4. Bag of Rubbish
    5. 6 glass jars to the recycling bin down the road
    :T
Ok so the fact that tomorrow is dustbin and recycling day probably helps but yay now I can go figure out how to make a signature for this challenge :) then I'm off have another go at listing some bits on ebay.

    :wave:Night night

I sold two items and had them collected the other night, so that's another two things gone! I'm looking for a new job at the moment so my evenings often are made up of doing that at the moment! I have an interview tomorrow, so hopefully I can put a few more things for sale/sort out a few more tomorrow evening :)
  • Following my massive declutter/unpack/sort/tidy effort, I can report that we managed to get the downstairs areas clear enough to sit 7 people round the table for a birthday meal! We still have major issues with the amount of stuff in the kitchen (about a quarter of the size of the old one:eek:) and most of upstairs (general dumping ground at the moment) but I have plans! My intention is to take a couple of boxes a day and properly sort them, relocating as I go. Should be done by the end of the month, so long as my get up and go doesn't get up and go!
During the clearout so far I have managed to get rid of:
Various unwanted storage jars - CS
    7 saucepans -CS
    Colander - SIL
4 boxes of fabric - school for jumble sale (mostly curtains/bedding sets)
1 box of books - CS
various bits of glassware - CS
    Electronic organ - CS
Boxful of various chemicals - tip
2 black bags of random carp - tip
black bag of bubblewrap pieces (kids had great fun popping them!) - tip
Asda trolley & 4 traffic cones:rotfl: - back to where we got them!
Takes my declutter total for March to 43/100
On to the next big push.....

  • Everyone is doing great, keep up the good work.

I can't really do much at the moment as can't do ebay due to my holiday coming up. Have got loads to do when I get back so will hit the challenge harder in April.

I've got about 40 items listed on ebay at the moment. It's funny that some of the stuff has no watchers or bids one time it's listed and then next time it has loads of watchers and bids.
